Actually 4 chain is well known for its raids by AV. Why?

cos it is the only transit hotel closest at the upper lorongs.

plus the no of pubs in the vicinity and consolidation of FL activities especially since JC no longer offer transit hours.

Lastly, alot of FLs reside close to L39.

So go figure whether it makes any sense for the man in blue to target this place so frequently.

As for the other hotels in GL it is more random and most likely on a rotational basis.

yes, i got once from this guy, i pay $20 and he give me a room with a single bed, KNN single bed??? how to enjoy???i go down to F him and he say 2nd floor only left this room but later i ask the cleaner, they say still have some room empty but dare not say much and i LL cos already pay another $10 for 3rd floor room.

I have been a regular visitor at 4 chain (almost every fortnight for the past several months). Half the time I end up paying $30/-.

The guy at the reception counter will tell me that all the rooms on the 2nd floor are taken up and only 3rd floor rooms ($30/-) are available. No choice then. Accept it rather than driving around to look for another place. Now that 4 chain was raided, I'll stay away for a while.

On Sundays, Lavender, Violet, Elegance and Kovan are always full. On my last visit to Violet last Sunday, I had to wait for 1 hour 15 min.

Seems like the issue of AV raids had came up again.

Just to share, as a few of the bros here mentioned, the AV is targeting the FL, not the guy. So what they want is the guy's statement that the lady caught is indeed soliciting for sex while under social visit pass, which is against the law.
Thus if the guy caught is cooperative and don't yaya with them, the AV by default won't give problem.
However if the guy decide to play punk, the AV has the right to arrest the guy for obstructing of duties or something lah. Then thats where the guy will be in for a good time, with free kopi from Cantonment Complex, and most of the time, have to get family members to bail the guy out.

If they do abuse their power, complain to the highest authority to see what they have to say on it. Law officers should observe the law when they carry out the law and not abuse it. Singapore arrested more than 5,000 foreign prostitutes last year but it is unrealistic to expect the vice to be eliminated, the Home Affairs Minister has told parliament.

Wong Kan Seng was responding to a question from an MP about efforts to curb "rampant gambling and prostitution" in Singapore's red-light Geylang district.

"The vice situation in Singapore is under control," Wong said in a written response released today.

He said police across the city-state last year conducted 950 vice-related operations, up from 890 the previous year. They arrested 5,400 foreign sex workers, a 25 percent increase over 2006, he said.

Despite its reputation as a straight-laced society, prostitution is legal in Singapore, where licensed brothels operate in designated areas such as Geylang. Pimping and public solicitation are illegal.

Foreign women working voluntarily in the sex trade cannot be arrested unless they are caught offering their services out in the street or violate immigration and other laws.

Wong, who is also a deputy prime minister, said installation of closed-circuit television cameras in Geylang has helped deter solicitation.

He said daily police operations to target gambling in the back alleys of Geylang led to 280 arrests last year and an improvement in the situation.

"Illegal gambling in Geylang is not rampant," Wong said.

"But I should add that it is not realistic to expect vice to be totally eliminated," he said, particularly as the city-state seeks to promote tourism.

I think it is because Geylang is the undisputed Red Light District of Singapore and for a foreigner (especially PRC, Viet, Thai) on a social visit pass to be "hanging around" in that area, it is considered "not right" by the authorities.

No doubt there is a lot of things to buy and nice food to eat, it is still considered a grey area for a PRC to be at Geylang due to the fact that the penetration rate for prostitution and soliciting is so high..

in many countries, even those so-called democratic ones, non-citizens and even residents can be asked to leave the country at any time, and they cannot appeal. the law enforcement does not need to give any reason at all. they can just classify the non-citizen as an undesirable visitor and out you have to go. this is the way most parts of the world work, like it or not. there is no right or wrong.

this is not unlike your own house. u can ask anybody to get out of your house anytime you like.

Most of these raids are conducted by ica with the help of av officers in the front line. No point protecting these women cos you wouldnt be able to help them a single bit (due to ica) and worse get yourself in trouble with the law.

Jus to share my experience with bros here,
encounter 2 raids some times back, 1 in TN and another in HC

HC
Happen in 1 of the HC around Tanjong Pagar.
Was drinking coffee and watching TV at the resting area,
group of AV came in and started opening doors.
4 gals was caught, 3 was doing FJ (sure kanna de)
the other 1 was taken in cos her customer said she offered HJ (sibei suay)
2 SG and 2 malaysian
All 4 were handcuffed and led out of the building.
Customer were interviewed in the lobby, dunno got take down particulars or not.
I am not in the room, so was not interviewed.
Understood the SG gals had their license cancelled,
and the malaysian was sent back the next day.
No trial/investigation or anything.

Just to share my experience.

Was called by AV 1 day saying one of the prc girl they caught said i was the bf.

LL, had to go down take statement. I told them the truth, where i met her, how much was the transaction etc etc.

Then after that, i can go... (on my own) No bail from wife, gf, father, mother, no nothing.

Before that they had asked if i was married, i said yes.

Anyway, calling a fl is not a crime... unless she is underage.
