Thinnest Condom 003

Hi all,

Want to share my experience regarding the usage of the above.

Firstly its quite difficult to put on, maybe because mine is absolutely thick at the base.
Then while me and my girlfriend were vigorously doing it I suddenly felt shiok and slippery. Only when I cummed did I realise that the bloody thing broke on me and what's hanging on my dick is just the rim of the condom. Now I have to live in fear for the next few months on what can possibly happen.

I cursed and sweared never to use that brand again.

Sorry to say thinnest is absolutely not the safest.

Yo Bro OldTrafford, just wanna share my own experience with that 003.

If you enjoy vigourous intercourse with your gf, try not to use that as that thickness is not designed for strong abrasion. Of course, if your gf is too dry, i will not recommend that as well as the 003 are simply not as durable as the normal CDs. Last point to add, 003 is also not meant for anal. :D

As for me, i only use it after foreplay with my fb so that we will not have to worry about breakages and such. Rule of thumb: The thinner they are, the easier they break.

Anyway, why use 003 when you can always offload into the mouth? Thats what i always tell my fb. :)

Actually the thickness (or thinness) of normal cd is good enuff. I tried using Jap made cd but never once succeeded putting them on. Now I continue to use Durex which I feel is quite reliable and the size is ok, espcially the comfort series.

Actually there is 002 version which I buy regularly from Hong Kong in those condom shops. Not available in 7-11...only speciality shops.

I prefer 002 over 003 as it is really thin. I like the feel of almost doing without it. I won't put much stress on it, rather I use it to enjoy the slow session with my partner.

Since I am not going to HK these day, I have to use 003 instead. Wonder if 002 is available in Spore. Not bothered with those speciality shops in Spore as there are nothing much interesting thing.

if u are ok wif 003, and 002 is thinner, den switch to 002 but wear 2 each time. after wearing the first one, apply tiger balm or axe brand medicated oil onto the first CD before wearing the 2nd CD. if either u or ur gal feels a very hot, burning sensation during sex, u know that one of the CDs is torn. the burning sensation is easy to wash off. just use water and shower foam.

There is a big difference btw 002 and 003 IMHO. You would be disappointed with 003 if u previously used 002. I started using 002 since mid 2007 when I first saw it in HK. Everything else CMI liao. Now that I know 002 easily available in SGP, I will look out for it. 7-11 or Petrol Stn usually carry 003 and not 002. No offence to any brothers here.Important notice to all brothers. Do NOT wear 2 condoms !!! Not even if u apply tiger balm,oil etc between the 2 condoms !!! You may want to try this. Apply some KY on yourself first then put on the condom. If your partner is not well lubricated, apply some on her. The KY makes for more sensation for you. :cool:

Platinum 003 plus KY are the perfect mates. Only setback is you got to keep applying it if the bonking session is long.:D

My feedback on Okomoto 003 and Durex Featherlite ULTIMA.

003: The thinnest I feel. However it is dry and little tight on the erection. After prolong bonking, if girl is not so wet, the condom can feel very dry sliding in and out of her. Because of this, maybe it's more liable to break.

ULITMA: Not as thin as 003 I feel. Rolls unevenly and sometime gets caught. Troublesome. However, it has just enough lube to make the whole bonk comfortable. And also a little looser so swollen dick has a little space to throb haha.


Weighing the pros and cons of both, I now reach for the ULTIMA. :D

NOOOO!!!! Don't frigging do that !!! Using 2 condoms increases the chance of tearing due to friction of condoms rubbing against each other. Using tiger balm or medicated oil is another NO NO. Oil weakens rubber and makes it easier to tear !!! tat's why you should never use oil based lubes with your condoms. Only use water based products on your condom.

Bro, what brand is the 002 condom ? I noticed that Okamoto also makes Ultra Thin 002 condoms. Is this the same one ? I tried it and it feels as thin as the 003, if not thinner ( I guess my dick cannot feel the 0.01mm difference :-).

Hi all!

I know a thing or two about condoms.

Firstly, a lot of the condom "thinness" is really a whole lot of marketing. There is something called a "placebo" effect. The thin condoms may not be thinner than usual, but because we believe it to be due to the marketing, and because sex is such a personal thing, we can be influenced to believe it to be so.

Take Okamoto as an example: they have a 002 Ultra Thin yet they still have a "new" 003 Platinum and Real Fit which costs more. So which one is the thinnest?

I remember long, long time ago, Okamoto Sensation was also advertised on its box to be 002. That was the old packaging.

All these confusing labelling seems to be just marketing. To give the condoms a better marketing claim, they even claim it is made from "Sheerlon" or whatever. It is just latex.


Secondly, the standard for condoms for WHO is around 0.05 - 0.07mm. I can't remember the exact standard. You will not be able to download the standard from the internet as the standard ISO 4074:2002 is not available publicly as you have to pay for a copy of it.

As with all manufacturing methods, you will never get the same thickness and uniformity with every condom. You get a range. The normal condoms typically has a tolerance of around +/- 0.02mm. In other words, the normal condoms is around 0.03 to 0.09mm (taking lowest and highest limits).

For the very thin condoms that claim 0.03mm, they may be claiming the lower limits. I cannot verify this as I do not have lab results. I am also not pointing any fingers at any brands.

I do know people in the industry who does have access to lab results. From what I hear, not all the "0.03mm" brands in the world is really 0.03mm.

I really do not know how anyone can claim 0.02mm for latex condoms. It would fail the ISO standard. Again, I was told by people in the know that some brands (talking about all brand around the world) simply put "002" as a marketing tool to get attention. They do not necessarily claim 0.02mm thickness. Cunning, right? (again not pointing any fingers at any brands).


Thirdly, you need to remember that the thickness claim may be just a MEAN value.

If it is true that the condom is really made to be 0.03mm as the MEAN thickness, you will need to know that there are going to be some condoms THINNER than 0.03mm. There would be a bell shaped range in the thickness of all the condoms made. The uniformity of thickness in each individual condom also varies within a range, with some portion of the same condom thinner (or thicker) than the mean.

There may be safety issues when using condoms that are made to be thin. As we can all see from the various feedback of breakages, the danger is real especially for rougher, dryer sex.

Thin condoms are more fragile. Of course, some manufacturers may claim high tensile strength from their unique <fill in the blank>. Basically, latex technology has not changed all that much through the years. There isn't that much you can do with latex.

The thinner it is, the higher the breakage chance (assuming all things being equal).

(note Durex got a thicker "Extra Safe" brand which is actually around 0.07mm to 0.9mm, as I remembered. Heard it is a favourite for gays in anal sex).


Fourthly, for the 003 Platinum and Real Fit brand, I have some issues with the fact that there is no reservoir tip to hold the sperm. Without the reservoir tip, there is a possibility of the condom breaking when it gets filled with sperm.

ALSO, and this is something many people are not aware, sometimes if you cum a lot, and the sperm got no where to go, and the tip of the condom is pressed on tight when you are still inside the vagina, the sperm goes UPWARDS and out of the condom. In other words, backflow leakage.

Add to the supposedly thinness of the 003 condom and I think you can see that thin condoms without reservoir tip is a bit more risky than normal condoms.

I do not understand why they can't just put the tip in. It is better to use condoms with a reservoir tip.
