Try the hotels at changkat bukit bintang. The room should cost u less than 150/night. Radius international hotel I think. There's a health centre there too. F*****l hotel across the road normally has quite good local stocks. The price is a Bit steep though. Hope it helps.

I would suggest you just head on to the spas and health centers. Ask specifically for locals - local Chinese, Malay, Indian, etc.

There are 3-star or even budget hotels around the "Golden Triangle" which is the main tourist and commercial district. Google for "Bukit Bintang Hotels".

2nd for Hotels, I you wanna stay in one I'd suggest Start Town Inn. Located in front of the Police Station at Jalan Pudu(Yes, i know what you wanna say, Its the same police station that they use to shoot in "Gerak Khas").
Reasons-RM65 for single room and RM95 for two person room RM135 for Delux Room(Last time i stayed there is 2 weeks ago). Security, IN FRONT OF POLICE STATION!!! Sure very damn safe lar!!! Plus it's the last place the police wanna raid!! Conveniece, Its in Jln PUDU and just close by to petaling street, so there's plenty of things to eat and shop(economical and depends on you bargaining power). It is also a taxi ride to some of the Hotspots in KL like Beach Club(fare only around RM10++), etc. Transport, Not a problem just take a ride to Pudu Station, can take bus to any part of West Malaysia. Hotel also provide Taxi.

Star Town Inn - Kuala Lumpur - Lonely Planet Hotels & Hostels (http://hotels.lonelyplanet.com/hotel/Kuala-Lumpur-Star-Town-Inn-P160253.html-THis) is the review...The place is currently undergoing renovation but that shouldn't be a problem.

I'd recomend Melia if you have the money coz its located almost at the heart of KL City. The price rage is around RM200-500 per night(Last time i stayed there was last month, paid somewhere around RM200++ per night). It's much closer to the Hot spots and its in front of time square. Taxi is always available(Price to nearby hot spots is about RM10-20). There is LRT and KL Liner available nearby. As for food, No need to worry all around hotel area also got, economy as well as high end.

3rd, the cheong budget. If planning to go cheong around all these high end places(Beach Club, E2, etc) make sure you bring around RM1k-2K. Better yet Bring only RM500-1k, the rest use visa or credit card to pay. Cash for paying taxi and gals only. And make sure you have extremely good nego skills, coz these gals knowing you "Ang Moh" will really try to suck you dry(As in your wallet not you ... whatever m,akes you happy):). The most i usually give even if they bitch about being former model is around RM300-RM500(depends on mood also lar), but some of them that i know is really top model so i also usually dun mind giving up to RM1k. Please understand, many guys in here didnt grow up in an English environment like you did... So their command of English aint the best. And Singapore's not really a developed country in the first place. It's still developing, in terms of culture, history, etc... But our education system is quite "cool", i grew up being spoonfed and learnt how to regurgitate whatever i've learned in the textbooks before i realise that i havent learnt a single shit from the subject itself. In uk u hardly see girls, its just not culture, paying for sex. like u said all u see is ugly girls. the only ones i have seen are addicts. Think about it, not all girls want to do this, they do it for them money. luckily in UK there are jobs, and if no jobs then state handouts. Its only if u need serious cash, like drugs, then youd go into that line.

that would explain y you only see ugly girls on the streets. If your a good lookin girl, last thing ud do is join the streets to make money.

I'm in SP for the rest of this week then headed to Penang over the weekend. But I'll be at one of the beach resorts - the Shang or Oriental. Any action in that area?



There is a Penang thread, take a look. There is less action in Penang than KL. Maybe someone more expert will have a better suggestion but for me if I was looking for action I would stay in Georgetown instead of a beach resort.

If you really want to bring that UK guy outing for drink, try the JayaOne Brussels cafe...they like the hoegaarden..that is their favorite..
If you wanna cheong, just bring them to the best Spa in KL lor..
Sabuun, E2 or Fuji Spa..I guess these 3 is the biggest already...
If want to try out malaysia culture, can bring them to Cititel ...hehe..

I got my nick from...........whatever my bf said.. As you can see, i swing. And we dont look at WHO we swing with - in terms of ethnicity, skin colour, etc... Hence we're "colourblind" and it's "x2" cos it's the TWO of us :D

Normally you get quite a fair bit of childish immature morons here (whose only joy in life is coming in to this forum to put down people and feel "great" for the rest of the day...it's a cheap thrill for them; in real life, they are probably losers who find no meaning in life)...I think you call them wankers in the UK, if I'm not wrong...

And don't mind some of the lingo that we are using here...it's part of our local "singlish" (Singapore English) given the melting pot of cultures and languages that we have here...
I understand that for someone coming from a different culture; you might not "get" what we are saying even though we might be speaking the same language...just bear with it...

I have read through some of those posts and there aren't any serious verbal abuse directed at you; so don't worry about it...some of them are just messing with your head...

I'm not an expert in KL (though I will be spending my next 2 days there...)
But you can try looking around the other threads and look for some information...it can be quite a tiring experience looking through them...but you might learn something...

xmas and New Year is special everywhere.

Not sure why you would use Singapore as a hub. Why not use KL as a hub and then fly Air Asia to Vietnam, Thailand and Philippines. A couple of days visiting Singapore would be fine.

Xmas Eve in Saigon is worth a visit. New Years Eve in either KL or BKK.

now this place is only about £2 and that like 12rm. it seems too cheap dont u think. any of u guys ever used it one night? and does most hotels have these news corners ?

most hotels don't have "news corners" I've never seen one. As a tourist you don't need to worry about "KL's underbelly of vice and racketeering". KL's a big city and has a criminal element the same as any big city, but you won't see any of that. Some of the taxi drivers are bad enough though and will give you a feeling of having been robbed.

For your hotel I suggest first you come up with a budget amount. I find hotels in KL expensive for SE Asia and think RM70 a night would give you a clean but not luxurious room. Usually its cheaper if you book your hotel with your flights as a package tour.
