There is sometime on today's paper, "Online brothels replacing Geylang's pimps."
What do you bros think?
It spells out everything from price to locations and model operations.
I think we are being watch, please let us know what we should do?
Maybe some senoirs bros could help ou how we could go about it safely.
Thanks.
My humble two cents.

this site have been watch ever since it became popular. it's nothing new. it's easy for anti-vice people to register an account, post some photos & get points and pm the OKT then nap them.
so if everything have been ok for so many years, it's not going to change after a news report.
if they really want to get the OKT, they wouldn't openly publish the article to beat the bush and alert the snakes.

good point.....anyway, for those who are active in the industry (OKT, customers & AV), this is nothing surprising la. So not as if this is a wake up call for AV.
I tink the difference btw this and past cases where people complain about WLs hanging around their neighbourhood is that at least the activities are done in hotels and not in the open.
Newspaper story is that it becomes too accessible to the young and "uninitiated"....but this young and "uninitiated" would not know about these OKT's groups unless they are ALREADY mixing with "undesireable" company or surfing sammyboy. Secondly, it is only the INFORMATION about the WLs that is accessible and not the physical "brothel" itself hence calling it "online brothel" is misleading (as defined by Cambridge Dictionary; brothel - a PLACE where men PAY to have SEX with prostitues). These online groups fail the definition of "brothel" on all 3 counts: it is only a website and not a "place", men are not paying anything at the website and (most importantly) there is no sex happening on the website. These online groups are not very different from restaurants who have their own websites and put up their menu, images of their dishes, customer testimonials, etc and invites potential customers to call for reservation before heading down to dine. I am sure these sites are not called "online restaurants" rite?
Anyway, back to the issue that these sites may lead the young and uninitiated astray, with or without these sites, he can as easily travel to Geylang's legal houses or to Petain to get sex (which are much cheaper than going to these online FLs). Lets stop blaming others and look at ourselves first - did we raise our kids rite? There were reports recently on how there are many teenagers already experimenting with sex (some even getting pregnant) so why would they pay to experiment when they can do it for free?
I guess there's no way for us to know wat is the demographic of FL cheongsters (only the OKTs & WLs know) but i doubt that there are many from the below 18 group.

journalists these days are a lazy lot. Which explains why they are sourcing forums for juicy news

What worry me is the the SMS transactions are recorded by the Telcos. These are evident enough to pin us down ?

Bottomline it is all about taxes. Those operation via the net don't pay government any taxes. Either that or somebody has got a vested interest in seeing these sort of operations shut down!

Patrons of prostitutes (aged 18 and above) are not a criminal offence because technically prostitution is legal in Singapore. Most of the raids on foreigners conducted by AV are for immigrations-related offences.
However, public solicitation for the purpose of prostitution and living on the earnings of a prostitute (pimping) are illegal in Singapore.

Quote fr ST:
'A pimp said: "We're going to starve to death already. The China girls have all gone to Pearl's Centre."'
Hmmmm ... Fact or Fallacy??? When I read this I really scratched my head whr he got this info fr.
I wonder who this farking pimp is. As far as i know 1 or 2 (or a negligible few) China pros MAY BE possible but he made it look as if the whole kampong of China pros had migrated to PC. If u look around the shops, u dont spot many TN shops with PRCs these days. Unless I'm so outdated that thr's a certain shop hidden somewhr in PC that houses a few 100s of china pros.
Either he had an axe to grind agt d PC mgt or d shops in PC or the reporter may be using an 'imaginary character'.

I was in chinatown vicinity this late morning, so quiet.
Maybe there are people who complained go Geylang can't find enough pros..
So the paper help them to find these girls, to the ladies it is like exposing the trade, but to the horny foreign brothers it is saviour..
My 2 cents worth.
We need to have pros in Sg or our Sg ladies will be raped. Since cutting down on foreign construction workers the pros population must also cut la...

It is not surprising that anything associated to sex is linked to this popular forum;) But it can be said that they are pretty slow till now then published on paper. The cyber OKTs now should upgrade their mod of operation higher.

To make tracing of SMS transactions more difficult, Reply to SMS using different Telcos lines or better still, use voice to confirm time & loc.

Deleted an SMS? Don't hope to retrieve it
By Tan Weizhen
IF YOU have deleted an important text message, don't expect your cellphone company to have a magical backup server that will bail you out.
One Singapore man recently found that out the hard way when he tried to recover messages that he had trashed nine months ago.
Mr Huang Yongliang wrote to The Straits Times Forum this week asking about the possibility of retrieving the long-since-deleted texts.
'I got curious about the policies on retrieving SMSes when I accidentally deleted mine,' said Mr Huang.
The 27-year-old said he wanted the texts for 'personal reasons', but declined to elaborate.
Telecom companies, though, said customers can practically kiss the messages goodbye once they hit the delete button. The companies handle billions of messages annually and deleted SMSes are expunged from servers almost immediately, they say.
SingTel, for example, said it processes 20 million text messages a day. That adds up to around seven billion a year.
'It is therefore not economically or physically viable to store SMSes in our system for retrieval purposes,' said its corporate communications manager Cheam Tze Hui in a statement.
There are a few exceptions. Logs that record the phone number, date and time of an SMS are captured and stored. StarHub and M1 keep these records for seven years and one year respectively. It is understood that these logs serve as verification when customers dispute SMS charges on their bills.
Meanwhile, telecom companies say they also face privacy concerns when it comes to releasing text messages. Even if they are still on a backup server, SingTel said it will not release them - not even to someone who wants to retrieve his own message.
Telecom companies will, however, release the information to the police and the courts. The former have the right to such information when they are investigating a crime.
In 2001, police probing fake bomb threats sent via SMS traced the texts to a 20-year-old national serviceman. They tracked him using help from the telcos, which would not specifically reveal the method. But the telcos suggested that it involved SMS logs.
In civil lawsuits, a judge can order companies to release messages if they are relevant to the case, according to Mr P. Padman, a partner in law firm Tito Isaac & Co. He has encountered this in defamation and divorce cases in the past. However, telcos are obliged to give the courts only information which they still possess.
The only way to be certain of retaining the SMSes for one's own use is to keep them in phones, according to service providers.
Two telcos - M1 and StarHub - said SMSes are purged from their systems as soon as they are delivered. SingTel would only say that while this is not done daily, it is fairly regular.
