Banks don’t issue the SG$ 1K note anymore, wonder where to get? Think soon with all the moneylaundering news, the $100 note also no more. Went to the atm to withdraw $3K two weeks ago & all $50 notes.

That Green SuperRich website is misleading, it said 26.2 but actual branch changing only at 26.1, KNN.

Thanks! I thought when they say 1000, it's referring to amount, not notes.

The is a money changer where the famous wanton noodle used to be in the small street next to Glow Pratunam. U need to walk towards the end of the street and there is a money changer there that doesn't require ID to change currency.

Rates is good too.

Changed 26.77 today at Paya Lebar. Will try another batch closer to my departure if the rates are better or just use my Trust card when I’m there for the places that take card

I just learnt that our own paynow/paylah works with Thailand's promptpay and DBS conversion rate is more or less what you get at the best money changer here. I read even street vendors also got QR for you to scan. Anyone got experience using paynow to pay girls? Theoretically since they all should have thai phone number and bank accounts, should be no issue. If can just paynow everything, seems to me like no point changing a lot of cash anymore. Cashless is the way to go.

If you want even better conversion rate, you can use Wise and load up on THB first. Wise also works with promptpay. Not to mention you can use Wise on your phone to tap for their public transport.

It only works on business registered QR codes and not on personal ones.

I have not successfully used QR code payment with Paynow. However I have used the promptpay to pay the girls directly with their mobile number. Their names will be truncated and I assume the same for ours to maintain confidentiality. Anyway through the payment u get to get their mobile numbers too.

My suggestion is to use this payment mode as a backup as I am not sure every ladies will have promptpay and allow it too.

For wise and the likes of revoult, can only make payment through debit card/ pay wave. Many shops will charge extra if u pay using that. The excuse they used is they cannot hide their income from the govt for tax purposes

i beg to differ as i've paid someone from SG as i've purchased items from thailand shop online and they do not have any other payment platforms.

The key is the bank accounts must be under the below:

* Thai Bankers’ Association
* National ITMX Co., Ltd
* Bangkok Bank Public Company Limited
* The Siam Commercial Bank Public Company Limited
* KASIKORNBANK Public Company Limited
* Krung Thai Bank Public Company Limited

Users will need to register promptpay too.

You trip rate was good too.

As long as they register with prompt pay. I think paynow via Thai number with prompt pay should be ok.

Can anyone update on the exchange rates currently in BKK?

you can check SUPERRICH THAILAND website for daily updates.

https://www.superrichthailand.com/#!/en

SUPERRICH require passport for changing money.

for money exchange that DONT; require passport, you can check out KF EXCHANGE in Phrom Phong area

https://www.facebook.com/p/KF-Exchange-100083040295393/

Add their LINE account and ask them for daily update for desired currency.

for convenience sake, you may consider WISE, which offer very fast and easy transfer of fund from your own bank account to the WISE wallet in the desired currency. You can then withdraw money from ANY ATM in Thailand using the WISE physical card. The rate is highly competitive and as far as Malaysia is concerned, the rate offered is far superior to rates in Malaysia and better or same as SUPERRICH or similar money exchange in Thailand.

Last week I used Trust card in Bangkok to withdraw baht from ATM.
The exchange rate was good at 27.21 baht..... and no fees charge by Trust.
But the ATM in BKK has a service fee of 220 baht for every withdrawal.
The ATM I used has a withdrawal limit of 20,000 baht..... so after including the service fee I realised no difference from changing at moneychanger shop.

I think all ATMs in BKK have the 220baht charge for foreign charge withdrawals. There is really no escaping that sadly.

Afaik there is only one bank's ATM that does not have withdrawal fee. (Green colour ATM) But their ATMs are few and very hard to find in BKK..... but I know there is one located at the carpark opposite NEP beside Hooters. It always has a long queue and most of the time it is emptied out as soon as it is replenished.
I was told there is another one at MBK but I could not locate that one.

Depends...... different banks have different withdrawal limits.

I know Bangkok Bank if you use the ATM inside their branch can draw 50K..... but their ATMs outside in the malls only 30K max.

Touristy areas I think mostly Blue. Bangkok Bank. Alot of foreigners use this bank.

Green. Kasikorn Bank. Is actually the more popular bank among Thais. So depend on location I assume.

I usually stay near T21, the exchanger at bts station is very good. Jowadays I used trust card easy to withdraw and decent fx for cc transactions. Not the best but convinient and acceptable rate.

Green should be Kasikorn Bank? if that is the bank, it has the same withdrawal fee for foreign cards at 220 baht per withdrawal and Kasikorn bank ATM is certainly not few and hard to find anywhere in Thailand. The lowest fee is by Aeon Bank at 150 baht per withdrawal but it has very few outlets and machines and unless you are near to one of them, it is hardly worth the trouble and the difference of 70 baht to hunt down them. as far as I know, there is no Thailand bank that offer ATM withdrawal of cash using foreign cards FOC.

I dunno which bank.. but there are 3 ATMs side by side at the Nana hotel carpark. The green one there always has queues..... whereas the other 2 less people use.
Maybe it's one of those "special" ATMs.
I can confirm that particular ATM does not have withdrawal fee for UOB, MayBank, OCBC bank cards.

* I just learnt from one of my vendors that no fees applicable is only for direct bankcards. Those using credit cards have fee payable.

Direct bank cards, correct. But becareful, they also have province distinction. For example you opened the account in hua hin, then use the atm in pattaya, have charge. but they charge local card 15 baht.

Not sure which bank seperate by province, but i think bangkok bank the blue one dont have service charge regardless of province.

Just want to ask about the superrich rates.
They give a better rate when changing 1000 denomination bills or when you change 1000 SGD dollars total?
From what i know, 1000 bills are no longer in circulation.
