Anyway it’s my first time there, so took a cab from city which cost about 36RMB. There is a huge neon sign there with the name on it at the entrance, you can see a DIO coffee (迪欧咖啡)place just at the entrance. There is a Mai De Long (麦德龙) just across the street. Proceed to walk in and past the security post. There is a sign that points to the left and follow it. After turning you will come to a building of 3-5 storeys with glass entrances and the name Fantasy Garden on it on your left, actually only like a 1 min walk from the main road.

Enter the building and was greeted by the ground floor manager in charge. I asked for the manager in charge of the 3rd floor Ms Chen Bing Bing as told by Lao Jiu. She came down and greeted me. Told her that I was recommended by Lao Jiu. She replied “Of Course”. Told me to proceed on with the showers and use the facilities and she will wait for me at the 2nd floor.

Was brought into the locker area. Service was tops, the service boys open your lockers, take everything for you, hang your clothes, give you a waterproof pouch for your cigarettes and mobile, take out the slippers from the lockers. Once everything locked up and passed you the key, proceed on to the shower area. The interior deco has a very European feel to it, with granite flooring and marble walls for finishing. Very classy feeling. There is a sauna room, a dip pool and a Jacuzzi. After showering, the boys help to dry you up and change to their pajamas, I was shown to the lift which takes me up to the 2nd floor.

I was shown to a resting room with a big flat screen tv. You can order food here and get a foot massage if you want. I just ordered a coke. Hope over to 芬蒂花园会所 after work. On Mei Chuan Road, see the Dio Café and turn in straight and you will see the building. Upon entering, the receptionist and the manager greet me with warm welcome and show me to the changing area. Services boy aplenty and seems that I am the only one there. Service boys help me to undress and hang my clothes and offer me a waterproof pouch for my mobile phone. Nice set up, brightly lit and place look clean. Comes with a steam room, sauna room, dip pool and back scrub. Washed up and went for a steam while the service boy is waiting outside. Finished and wash down and went for a scrub, pretty good I must say, think the cost is RMB58 and he guy will ask for tips. All you have to do is sign on the payment slip and settle later. RMB30 will do the trick.

Shower cubicles are aplenty and comes with curtains as well, good for those who don’t like washing your ass and little brother in front of everyone. Pretty decent shampoo and shower cream even Nivea facial wash. Done with it and went to the drying area where the boys will help you to dry up, get dressed and shown to the second floor.

Second floor is pretty spacious with numerous rooms, looks clean and no musky smell. Shown to a room for two, sat down ordered a drink and ask for Bing Bing the manager. She came in dress in a black evening gown, from Tianjin about 26 years old. Told her that I am introduced by Laujiu (Thanks to Bro Shengge) and straight away she called receptionist telling them that I am a friend of her, guess this is the discount call. Gave me a short introduction of the place, there 3 such establishment under the same bosses, one in Pudong and the other is in Xinzhuang. While this is the latest and started operation since this June, perhaps this explains the clean and new look. She emphasized that this place is safe as even some “authority” had a share in it as well. On the third floor are the rooms, 28 in total, 3 with tubs and some with the chairs and she can arrange for some adult film to be playing in some room to spice up the atmosphere when needed. Free food and drink on the menu are pretty much China Chow but still a pretty generous variety, taste no bad as well. Bing Bing also mentioned if one needs to entertain customers, we can call her in advance and she will arrange some simple meal, or even seafood as well, all these come at a reasonable price.

Pick a girl (forgot the number) and went to the room and pretty standard services, red sash, AR, hot & cold and there is even a 蜜蜂采蜜, wanna know what this is…..go find out yourself, keke. Good service and accommodating with a willing to please attitude as well, what more can you ask for, finish the deed and left the room a sextisfied man. Went down second floor for a break then shower and left.

Damage: RMB688 (600 + 58 scrub back + 30 tips)
Oh, I got the voucher as well, less RMB100 for me next time then.

Overall feeling is pretty good, brightly lit, clean and spacious. Location is discreet and the set up offers privacy, unlike other place where all squeeze into a TV room. No cigarettes provided though so please bring your own if you smoke.

Staying at the Intercontinental in Pudong so decided to check out the Sauna on level 3 of the Merrylin hotel across the rd (ZhangYang Rd)..facilities are great as the place has just been renovated. Exactly the same process as all the other places, de-clothe, shower, into your stunning shorts and off to a small room where drinks and fruit are served. I am not so sure abt the HC within the hotel, however, you can try HC like 汤岛that is along Wuzhong Road, I think near to Lian Hua Road. Damaged abt RMB700 at nite.

If you are adventurous enough and like bbs, there are quite a few along the 钦州北路 near to 桂林路.

You can also try 吉田 at Cao Xi Bei Road or YPH, all are not very far from your hotel.

Hi Adi,

It's right behind Xinmei or if you know the new Marriott Serviced Apartments. Alas, I don't have the exact address. But, if you enter Xinmei building from the junction of Pudong South Road & Shangcheng Road, walk right to the rear entrance and step out. The entrance to the sauna should be diagonally to the right. Go thru the entrance right to the back where the lift lobby is. The sauna is located on the 5th or 6th floor.

My apologies, I never seems to be able to remember which floor it's on. :p

Welcome! Not too sure about JiaDing area but presumbly there should be some BBS (Barber Shop) offer HJ, FJ etc there just like here downtown area.
They might even have a HC there for all you know bro....

Otherwise, ask the hotel front desk for transportation to Kunshan, more places of entertainment to visit there being that Kunshan is "infested' with Taiwanese lah....

Scout around la, it's a pretty safe place to roam around there in Jiading. Lots of industrial bldgs there......and Automobiles shops, acccessories.....

I've not been there, was informed by colleagues, so i dun really know the damage there.

Any taxi driver in JiaDing will know the ktv.. supposedly the biggest ktv in JiaDing. Do give an overview if u make a trip there.;)

That's why my bike is a lousy old bike. Although I fancy those nice bike selling at Giant or Decathlon. Most of the time I cycle to and from work so I park the bike inside my office and bring up to my apartment and park outside my door. Even the security of my apartment ask me if I'm staying there it's better to park my bike in my apartment.

Let me tell you a story told to me by a collegue friend. He bought this second hand lousy bike for 100rmb. He has this very good lock which he also sure that theives can't open to lock to steal it. After work he went to collect his bike parked along the street. He saw that his bike was tempered with. Somehow the thieves can't break the lock but managed to mess up the lock. He can't put his keys into the lock so has to call a locksmith to open the lock. His lock is so secure that the locksmith charge him 100rmb to open the lock. He was so piss that he had to pay another 100rmb to open the lock for his lousy bike which only cost him 100rmb.

So its better to keep your bike close to you.

I should be staying at BW New Century at Li Yang Rd and am wondering whether will be be far from the 2 much advertised HC above. Totally confused on the Pudong, Putuo and Puxi terms, i guess it must be East or West..etc.

Please advise also the rate of the KTV's in Shanghai. Is it the same as in Dongguan ? Minimum room charge of 700 - 1,200 and Lady Fee of 2 : 5 : 8 ? I guess it should be higher due to higher living standard.

Hope that you guys can comment on whether the hotel is a girl friendly one and whether is it convenient since it is going to be my home base and should be convenient for me to do surveys and stuffs. Any good discos around this area ??

Your hotel is around the Northeast of Shanghai, near to the bund. Generally not so expensive to take taxi around, should be less than RMB40. Not sure abt that area for discos.

We just got back from 3 day Shanghai, stayed at: -

Magnificent International Hotel
381 Xi Zhang South Road
Shanghai 200085

We booked through [email protected] the good thing about this web is that the hotel confirmation is immediate upon payment via credit card. good for last minutes hotel booking. The room for twin share worked out to be around S $ 95, included breakfast.

We found this hotel location to be very handy / central - being around 5 min walk to Hua Hai Road, 15 Min walk to Nanjing Road, approximately the same to the Bund and also Yuey An garden & shopping complex. Also around 10 minutes to walk to metro. Directly below the hotel there are some local shop, eater, foot massage and also sort of night market / food street.

We actually missed out fly back / got the timing wrong :), the hotel staff was very helpful in contacting the airline and reschedule another fly on the on the same day for us.

After checking all the pricing for other hotel in Shanghai, our thought was that this is well price for it location. - 2 1/5 stars Room is pretty clean, not much facilities.

Well, they are around Plaza 66 at Nanjing West Road. Hotels around there that I know are Ritz Carlton and JC Mandarine. I never been to this place to do shopping. I stay at local housing and take bus to work.

FYI, there should be plenty of BBS around your area.

Otherwise, you can take a taxi to 新天地, 茂名路 or 衡山路 Bar/Pub if that is what you mean by happening. Taxi fare abt RMB20+, I think.

Your hotel is around the Northeast of Shanghai, near to the bund. Generally not so expensive to take taxi around, should be less than RMB40. Not sure abt that area for discos.

If you are buying real branded stuff, you are better off buying them from elsewhere other than China. It is a common misunderstanding that Real branded stuff in China is cheaper because the standards to living is lower; WRONG!

China's import tax for Branded Luxury goods is 120%. So you will find that the same product you buy, you are paying almost 1 and half times compared to the price in Singapore.

But I still think that you are refering to the Pirated Brand stuff.

By the way: If you bought this pirated goods in China and expect to bring it into Europe, big mistake again! They will take it away at the custom of the port of entry (Airport) If you are using it as your handbag or luggage bag, guess what will happen? They will take away your fake LV bags or Luggage and return you your stuff in a black plactic bag! I seen some China tourist carrying their stuff in black plactic bags at the european airports. Hahaha what a sight!

You should know Shanghai better isn't it? All the actions are centered around Hengshan Lu, Huai Hai Lu, Tong Ren Lu, Ju Lu Lu and Mao Ming Lu.

There are lots of good apartment or hotels around that area at a very reasonable price. My take is Jin An District.

Yes, this place is not supposed to provide full service - RMB914 for 90 mins. This used to be tops in SH, but the standard has dropped drastically. You'd need to go a few times (unless you're first-time lucky or a regular takes you there) to find a gem. To most bros here, this place is not recommended coz of the costs and the fact that full service isn't on the menu.

They've VIP rooms which cost RMB1,000 per person and you pay RMB400 for every 90-min session. Back then, this place was really for locals with deep-pockets, on the lookout for a mistress.

With so many full-service saunas nowadays, business is bad and the long-time manager was recently considering quitting... but the girls managed to make her change her mind. Service is still great but you'd be able to find better looking girls elsewhere - here, they seem to have too many over-30's who've benefitted from the manager's favouritism.

Go in, ask for Chen Bing Bing, the guys will usher you into shower area. Very friendly. Take off clothes, supply a separate small bag for your cigs, lighter, wallet, etc. At shower area, will keep your small bag in a transparent locker and give you another key.

Shower has good quality toileteries. Nevia, Dettol body cream, etc ... after shower, dry up take your small bag and proceed to level 2. Order what you want (food foc) and waited for Bing Bing.

Anyway, what is this new Fantasy Spa joint I hear about? Not that it matters anyway, I have officially retired from the cheonging scene. Kopi and beer sessions still ok, just that I spend most of my time outside shanghai nowadays enjoying cheaper and much tastier food.

Nice to see you in the forum sharing your tremendous experience. I will be going to Shanghai end of next month and would like to ask you if the New Year period woud have any impact on the saunas or BBS. Also I read about the BBJCIM places, how do you tell them from the BBS, are there any specific signs or lights, where is the best place to find them? Thanks.
