For me, I have only visited Pacific Disco, and stayed in Novotel. As for KTVs I avoid Permata indah and Permata wonder what is the rest? Restaurant, I go for PutriBusong or directly opp. Makateh. Seafood... well, there was once I being to a kelong really really far away. About an hour ride through the new bridge build by Habibie and gang that connects 3 island togather. We ride all the way to the tip. there we get the cheapest and freshest!

What you is true but I've never been to Formosa at least I have been to novotel. THe room I got @ novotel was posh clean and nice. AirCon was fine, service was good and most of the staff speaks respectable english. Even the security guards also very polite.

Well, I have booked the same hotel again for my next trip and I will be trying the gym and the indoor swimming pool!

Formosa has very spacious rooms but toilet seats a bit rusty... Staff are friendly and English ok.

A pity it does not have mirror in front of the bed to watch the `live' action.

Thinking of trying Novotel and Melia. Appreciate if the more experienced guys can advice on whether these hotels (or any others in Batam like Island View and Island Garden standard) have mirrors in front of the bed.

I just got back from a day-trip. Almost all entertainment outlets - KTVs, Jackpots, Pubs/discos and casino, are closed. Business at KTVs resumes on 18th Nov.

From my understanding, some people are taken for urine testing for controlled substances (i.e. drug abuse) when they come back from Batam. Usually, groups of youngsters would be stopped for routine urine testing at WTC if they exhibit signs of consumption (e.g. glazed look, red eyes, unsteady gait).

But the problem is that the "signs of consumption" could often be confused with "signs of too much expulsion".

If your urine sample test positive, a blood test may be taken to determine more accurately the drug involved.

Beware that ceweks might slip you half a pill or so of ketamine, and you could drink it without knowing that you have done so. Katamine consumption can show up in urine test for up to 2 weeks after consumption. My advice is not to leave your drink unattended and always ensure that the can is sealed when delivered to you. If you leave your table, order a new can of drink.
