You might have of=fended some people here cos of your comments on some issues which some samsters doesn't see eye to eye with. They shiok and got power, they zap you ah if they feel like it..

Sometimes, its just your problem, and sometimes its theirs. But y do you care about the points? Till now, I dun even know how to add or zap others cos I dun understand the rationale of the points anyway. Its just something that some samsters covet so much just to show their 'power' in here.

The points system exist such that it is used to "appreciate" one's work (up) or feel he does not deserve it (zap)

As long as the person does not leave critical (verbal abuse) comments in the zap, uncle Sam will not do anything.

One word of advice, by opening such thread, the moderators will give u a zap by wasting space, so just live with it, the points is not really important, although i understand everyone needs some sort of recognition, but always remember, you cannot make everyone happy if not you can be "god" already. ;)

Of course not forgetting, we have better things in life than SBF, families, careers, friends - Sbf is just a place for us to relax for a few seconds of our lives to relax :D

I can understand how you've felt about being zapped without any fighting chance.......but don't be too hard on the points as it cannot give you anything. :D

You can also be zap 6 points by the system for posting to a thread that had been [tagged].
To identify tagged threads, look for the [tagged] at the end.
The 6 point zap is independent of the points you have or your power.
You will be zap as many times as the number of posts to the [tagged] thread AFTER it had been tagged.

The boss tags the thread for reasons like out-of-topic, in the wrong forum.
I believe system does not leave a record when it zaps u, so some may find their points reducing mysteriously :confused:
The zap may not happen immediately when u post to a tagged thread.
I believe boss has a zap robot that runs on a periodic basis (perhaps once every 24 hours) to do it for him.

Apologise if this is a FAQ somewhere but thought I would share what I know here.

Relax, I have been zapped often also and dunno why, even a TS who upped me after I got zapped was also kena zapped and warned him not to be too busybody. Aiyah, if those people who zapped you feel shiok on doing it then let them be, these points cant be exchange for anything in real life, we are just here to pass time like some TS mentioned, chill it.

But if points were so importatnt, you could apply to be moderator. Then you can clock many points and later change for voucher at NTUC.

Being zapped for no reason? Tell me about it -- I've been zapped pretty often but am used to it right now. Wear it like a badge of honour -- that your opinions are controversial enough to rile some people enough to virtually admonish you.

There's always a reason for the zaps actually -- usually flippant ones or ignorant ones -- but there's definitely a reason.
