My initial impression when I read the report was that could this be another case of “love turn hate” situation. However, as I investigate further my sympathy drifted from the murdered actress to her late billionaire husband.
There are various versions of the report on the internet but reading a few of them pretty much sums it up.
Rumors circulated that the late billionaire husband, Zhou, has divorced his first wife, with whom he had a son, for Bai Jing and invested huge amounts of money in her acting career. They eventually married in October 2010. However, earlier this year, some insiders claimed Bai conspired with her boyfriend in the mafia to steal 20 million yuan from Zhou and hire a prostitute to seduce Zhou in order to get a divorce, from which she would get more money. The widespread rumors alleged that the death of Zhou's mother is also related to the actress.

In a separate report, Bai Jing recently filed for divorce accusing her husband of keeping from her about having a previous marriage and a son, and accused him of infidelity. The mishap happened when her husband confronted her. IMHO, the claim of the actress being ignorant of her billionaire husband actually undergone a divorce to marry her is ridiculous and there could also be a chance that Zhou’s infidelity could well be a setup.
As the chinese idioms goes “there cannot be waves without wind” hence I do believe there are some truth in the rumours that the doing of the late Chinese actress and several reports on the internet seems to point towards that.
What I found shocking was the report on telegraph.co.uk (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/china/9112777/Chinese-kung-fu-actress-murdered.html) which reports China's National People's Congress will consider another attempt at legislating against domestic violence. I am totally puzzled and question why has such a case being reduced to a mere domestic violence and missed the larger issue of someone abusing the woman's charter (which affects every men in the world)?
It will be the readers’ discretion whether this is a result of exploitation of woman’s charter and “marriage and divorce for money”. One cannot help but wonder what if the exploitation had worked and would the billionaire be happier today if he sticks to his first wife.
On a side line, perhaps the billionaire should have taken heed from the Li family of Hong Kong. They well deserved their throne being the number one Chinese billionaire in the world.
PS: I apologise for the choppy writing.
