hi there bros.. i m here to seek yr advise.
currently i have a pinoy gf. we are intending to get married somewhere next year but before that she wants to find a job back here in singapore. her education level is only a diploma back in the philippines. she have come to singapore afew times. and the last time she came back to sg with me she only got 1week social visit pass and was not able to extend as it was a big stamp as she was brought for questioning.. dont know why also.
can i seek employment agency here to get a job for her ?
when she comes here again next year would she be able to apply for work permit?
is there anyway for her to seek employment back here or its better to ROM before proceeding with a job?

Yes PR applications once rejected you have to wait six months b4 ICA accept your application for review again. The reason being you can have time to improve on the citeria that you fail (sometimes in rejection letter they will highlight to you) for example not stable or low income.
thanks bro. but i believe once rejected, chances will be lower?

If you can probably improve your criteria a lot, maybe considered.

As for PR, maybe just wait till got BB then apply. Better chances also so far I heard.
many foreigner wife got the wrong idea that its easier to get PR after baby comes out. This is wrong. Around 2 years ago, it was published in newspaper that giving birth to a child doesn';t give the person higher chance to get PR. I got a few friends with vietnamese wives, they applied for PR for their wives after baby come out, still kanna rejected.

Medical checkup is only required after the PR is approved.
A minor correction to above. medical check-up is a pre-requisite requirement for long term passes and 1st time application. (More than 6 months of stay) After the medical check-up is deem as satisfactory from approved clinics, it is valid for 2 years. So it means that if your so-and-so social pass extension or PR application are approved within the 2 year time frame, no need to go for another medical check-up again.
Don't worry, ICA staff will ask you to revalidate again if the two years are up.

Congrats, not many can get 1 year stay and visa. What Visa means, merely to allow the passport holder to request entry back to singapore within the time period specified on the visa. A visa may allow one, two or multiple entries before the expiration date of the visa.

bro, meaning to say parents can have 5 yrs and wife only 1 year ?
With regards to immediate family, isn't the wife also considered to be one ?
Funny how the law is applied here.

Final Update on LTSVP.
Went yesterday morning at the indicated time of 8am to 11am.
After submission, just wait for an hr can get the green card.
BTW, just a note when u have received the approval letter and done the medical checkup, on reaching ICA, just go to the automated ticketing machine (number 2 iirc) and press Approval/Medical to get Q number.
Dun need to join the Enquries Queue unless doing 1st time Application Submission. ;)

Dear All. I', not frequent here but hope bros can help me out here. Been dating someone from PRC for sometime now. But she was caught by AV and barred from entering next 3 years. Would like to know options for bringing her in short term and does it mean that they'll never let her in even after 3 years. Marriage is on the cards and i would really like to find out more. Is leaving the only way? Thanks all

Her record is already with ICA. Impossible for her to be back here during this 3 years. Possible that you all get married in China or elsewhere and then with the marriage cert, appeal to ICA.

Hi all,
Been reading the posts and found it to be very informative! Btw i have a question regarding my case.
i have a prc gf of 3 years and she had visited singapore during aug-sep 07 ( ard 30 days )
we intend to get married so if she comes over again ( probably early next year ) is it possible to get rom cert within 30 days? ( suppose her visa is vaild for 30 days ) and do the neccesay documentation for LTSVP , or is it a must to have a rom cert to apply for LTSVP? she has clean background ( no av/police trouble whatsoever and not a "working" girl )
thanks for the help!

To get a ROM Cert within 30 days is quite tough, I presume you plan to ask her to come over and go to ROM to get a date. Go to ROM website and check the next available dates.
Also, let's say that the next good date is in 2 months time, you have to consider whether your GF can get the social visit pass till that time. Usually, ICA will "chop" one month social visit pass. If so, your GF might have to go home and return to S'pore again, unless you can get a few renewal till your ROM date. Drop ICA an email to enquire first. Most impt, ask them, will they allow social visit extension by using a ROM date confirmation letter.

You can get married within 30 days.
The minimum days is 21.
If Solemnisation in ROM Office is full, just book for Solemnisation outside ROM Office
For more information, please check the rom web site

Can be done. Pm me if you are not sure. No charges of course. :p
I just helped a Zhengzhou girl who last embarked dtd March this year to ROM. Already ROM on Sept 2007. Took about one month to get her a visa to come here, inclusive of one interview session with ICA.
Read from the above, your ger just visited SGP recently. So it's 50-50. Nevertheless I give you a quick run thru' on the procedures, if you have already made a final decision to get ROM.
Go https://app.rom.gov.sg/internet/efile/file_notice_marriage_step1a.asp to book online. Be prepared with a Credit Card for payment. Apply the visa for your gerfrd thru' SAVE with ICA. https://www.psi.gov.sg/NASApp/tmf/TMFServlet?app=SAVE-OVAL&isNew=true&Reload=true again be prepared with a credit card also. (Please get ready of all documents like her front copy, and her last embarkation pages of her travel document, one recent photograph and you must send the visa application form to her to sign before submitting the forms to ICA few days later)
If suay suay, ICA won't approve, don't fret, ask for an interview, brings your recent photos of both of you together, and explain the situation to the interviewing officer. If still not approve, then you got to wait till next year.

It's too late. ahboy78 has to pre-plan beforehand, to meet the 30 days timeframe. ICA won't bother whether you can't get a ROM date to marry or not. If you can furnish all relevent documents to them before the visa expiry date, for LTSVP, they will process it as usual.

Like a gamble. For those who know VIPs like JPs etc can get them to solemnize marriage :)

Tough question here. if i get married there, is it hard to get a job as a "foreign son-in-law"? i got a degree but i had this idea that foreigners looking for a job in china is pretty hard

Indeed this is an option but you need to spend a little more money though as you need to book their packages ranging from 200 up I think, throw in a buffet and you get a simple but nice wedding party. There are many packages to choose from but mainly depending the availability of the venues and dates. Friends did it there before, pretty fast, unlike ROM where you need to pre book your date and time as well. Hassle free, swift and convenient. ;)

Moving your first step to China is the most difficult. I faced similar but more complicated situation with my PRC wife 3 years ago. After struggle for initial period, i am now more settle down. Brought my 70 yr old mum over this year, sold my HDB flat and now expecting a child mid next year.
The key issue is how much you treasure your relationship and how much determination you have. Down here, i achieve more than what i can get in Sillypore, more $$$ more, career advancement and most important.... HAPPINESS...

Does any brothers here familiar wth the myammar rules? I wanted to bring my future wife here to marry, however, i only just realise that myammar people need to apply for a visa to gain entry. Only diplomatic/official/service passport gain exemption of visa, now my question is can my future wife apply for these passport or are they only for high ranking officials and people working for the myammar government? She is currently holding only a social visit passport which is only valid for a year. Brothers who have the answers, pls help me, thanks in advance

Need Name and NIRC/PP number of 2 witnesses too ...
Can do online, just let your finger do the "walking" ... :)

Hello all bros,
I like to find out what are the procedures & complications to divorce a prc wife. Man is a singaporean, marriage registered in prc. Wife got PR status already and they have one singaporean child.
The couple may contest for the custody of the child, but the wife is currently not working.
It's a sad but genuine case, not one of those "fake" marriage. Any other advice will be appreciated.

alternately, you can ask her to bring her 户口本 to the 公证处 of her hometown and pay for something called 出生公证,this is as good as a birth cert. remember to ask for a translated copy or else ICA will give her more problem

What I did for my wife is bring the Household Booklet (户口本) to Singapore Subordinate Court for translation (they have an office at level 1). Pay a few tens of dollars.
Cos I've this "believes" that the chop and signature of local authority is better that overseas ones ... so far, ICA accept without any question asked.

Actually there are so many tour groups from PRC reaching Singapore everyday. There are so many holiday tours being organised by PRC, why is there still a need to apply for her parents when they can just go to any tour group and join a holiday package to come singapore.
There are so many kinds of tour, so there is no need for him to apply for her parents and put in any sponsorship money. Correct me if I am wrong, if coming via tour group need to have some sort of sponsorship money, then I think many PRCs will not even want to step into Singapore. Since there is no need, why go through the complicated method and don't even need to fork out a single cent of sponsorship, neither need to go thru ICA.

Bro blackcat, fyi.... any visa more than 3 months is considered a LTSVP. Of course it is renewable, but it's entirely based on case to case basis.
As for her offence, I remembered there's a clause in the form for her to declare that she has not committed or being convicted any offence in singapore or any country. Be honest in that form. ICA can check that, even if you have falsely declared in that form.

For the issue of a Student’s Pass (STP), the applicant or his/her local sponsor will have to undertake to ensure that the applicant shall not marry a Singapore Citizen (SC) or Permanent Resident (PR) while he/she is in Singapore on STP. The condition “not to marry a SC/PR while in Singapore” stated in condition 9 of the security bond. If there is a breach of conditions in the security bong, the security deposit may be forfeited.
F the STP holders wish to marry SC/PR, they may do so after the expiry / cancellation of their STP. How ever, if they wish to get marry and study in Singapore, it is preferable that they submit a STP application for our consideration after they have married,
In a case when a foreign student was exempted from furnishing security deposit for the issuance of his/her current Student’s Pass, he/she does not need to seek our permission to grant approval to file for a marriage. However, he/she may wish to inform us in writing if he is registering her marriage with a Singapore Citizen/PR, at the following address:
Senior Manager
Visitor Service Centre
Student’s Pass Unit
Immigration & Checkpoints Authority
10 Kallang Road
#08-00 ICA Building
Singapore 208718
If u wish to know if your gf was exempted from furnishing security deposit then you need to check if her school have SQC. SQC details as below:
The Singapore Quality Class (SQC) for Private Education Organizations (PEO), SQC-PEO is a scheme administered by SPRING Singapore to recognize PEO that have attained a commendable level of performance in their journey to business excellence and to assist them to reach world-class standards of business excellence based on the Singapore Quality Award (SQA) framework and requirements in the private education sector.
Students of institutions who received this SQC-PEO award enjoys the following 'green lane' benefits:
* Reduced processing time from 4 weeks to 2 weeks.
* Student's pass valid for full duration of student's study.
* Waiver of security deposit (all levels).
* For PRC students (all levels): waiver of interview at Singapore 's Beijing Embassy and direct submission of applications to Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA).
* Granting of 1-month Social Visit Pass , upon completion of studies, for foreign students to wind down their activities in Singapore and make arrangements to leave

Sorry to bring this ‘foreign wife’ thread aside for discussion.
I agree cereal-killer! It is VERY true. Chinese mainlanders are alot like this.
NUS, NTU, SMU pay tuition fees, scholarship and even subsidize for these foreign students, once got their PR and say bye-bye. Nowadays, lots of foreign students (especially mainlander Chinese) coming to Singapore for studies.
I have met and talked with many Chinese mainlanders working in local shipyards and those Chinese mainlanders managed to secure scholarships from shipping companies (e.g. shipyard). These shipping companies are so kind and offer them to pay fees for them. Once they completed their bond for two years and after getting PR, they are saying goodbye to Singapore! Worst, some already got their PR before they graduate!
Long ago, I interviewed three chaps from SAFTI OCS at different occasion. They were grumbling to me that Chinese mainlanders commissioned in SAF as officer and they have no intention of staying in Singapore at all!
I have traveling around the world. Singapore PR is the most easy to get. Free-flow like water! Most difficult PR to obtain should be Malaysia’s. And I doubt not many Singaporeans want a Malaysia’s PR. Even if yes, believe me or not, it is "super hard" tough to apply Malysia's PR! Surprisingly, United States’ PR is much easy to obtain than Malaysia’s!
I think ICA is the one to be blamed. I suggest PR can be placed in separate categories (e.g. long and short term). The short term can be treated like a VISA and can be extended on conditional basis. For a long term PR (also with 10 years expiry date) can be issued to foreign wife marrying to S’pore man.
I fully agree with cereal-killer! ICA knows how to handle MP’s request. In fact, it is no use at all. The only benefit is, ICA thanking the MP to bring this issue into attention and that’s all.
I think we can resume discussion relating to this topic.
true.
alot of PRC who is in sg shipyard hold SG citizenship leh.
a number of my colleages are SG now (PRC previously)
they are bond with the company to study in poly
after that go tto the company for the bond/work 2-3yrs
and normally after that(bond), sg will offer them citizenships liao.
wow... that is damn gd lor..
for sg males...... sad sad sad.... go to NS for 2 yr as slaves. but the prc male can use the 2 yr as work experience. see the different?
yet sg male wan to marry prc gf so "ma fan" and let her stay in sg like LTSVP.
but they wan to marry prc in sg is so easy, can easily apply dependent pass.
SG citizenship so gd meh? how i wish i was from PRC also.
too bad, my prc gf dun have the min requirements that the shipyard is looking for. she dun even koe simple english.
so intend to get her long term in sg. study in eng 1st. then study higher education.

HAPPINESS...
did i hear more $$$ and more career advancement.
do they wan to hire me?

From ICA Website:
What are the types of courses that I can attend without applying for a Student's Pass?
You are exempted from applying for a Student's Pass to take up a short course as long as:
(i) It is conducted and completed within the validity of the initial Social Visit Pass granted at the Singapore checkpoint or 30 days, whichever is shorter;
(ii) It is a complete and stand-alone module on its own; and
(iii) It does not involve hands-on practical occupational training and/or industrial attachment, which has interaction with walk-in customers, or is not conducted at premises that are also the places of business, e.g. hair salons and beauty salons.

u joking or making fun of us....first ask student pass holder...now become STP/LSSVP holder.....
From ICA Website:
What are the types of courses that I can attend without applying for a Student's Pass?
You are exempted from applying for a Student's Pass to take up a short course as long as:
(i) It is conducted and completed within the validity of the initial Social Visit Pass granted at the Singapore checkpoint or 30 days, whichever is shorter;
(ii) It is a complete and stand-alone module on its own; and
(iii) It does not involve hands-on practical occupational training and/or industrial attachment, which has interaction with walk-in customers, or is not conducted at premises that are also the places of business, e.g. hair salons and beauty salons.
student pass is STP right?
so i asking. if ROM and apply LTSVP, do i need to apply for STP again for her to study in sg?
hmm... ask in this way. is it more clearer?

refer to the pple working in shipyard who are of PRC when born:
75% are holding PR (blue IC)
and 25% are holding citizenship (Pink IC)
and about 5% of the 75% ( 5 of out 75) are waiting for pink IC to come, which they had applied.
especially keppel shipyard.. many PRC...

from what is written in the website....the course must be within the period of social visit pass or under 30 days....since they never mention if it is short term social visit pass or long term social visit pass...i presume that they are talking about short term social visit pass...
you can go down to ica or email them about studying during holding on to LTSVP....but i think i can roughly guess their reply...they will ask u to apply for student pass but note that student pass is subject for approval...that the crap u will get from their reply...
btw...since u marrying her...then i think nothing to worry much...just rom and go down to ica to ask...apply student pass if they said so...if cant get then wait till get PR then study....

had check with the sch that had Singapore Quality Class (SQC) and trustcase
although did not need the 5k sercuity deposit but i need 30k to show that she had the $$$ to study. like bank gurantee like that.
i know it is something for pple from prc that come here to study and not work in somewhere else. u koe la... Gxxxxxx and Kxx,etc.
but she is a sg-wife, also need to show 30k.. sigh
no $$$ for that sia...
so if LTSVP can study, can save the 30k part.
but hmm... think of going to china and marry her then.
and apply her to sg 6mth later, by that time, i completed my degree liao.
should be more easier to apply LTSVP or PR for her liao.
but then..... 6mth later, i can go ICA apply easily for her to come over right as i have the china marriage letter.

Now anybody in Myanmar can apply for the PP. My wife got her PP for about US100 for 3 year. The only issue is that the waiting time for the PP is very long. I have waited 2 months for the PP but heard that now it only need 1 week.
Just need to apply Visa at the Singapore Embassy in Yangon but it will be best if you are there to apply for her. Sure approve wan.
My soon to be wife is from taichilek, can i apply visa for her at the ica here rather than fly all the way to yangon? Because from taichilek to yangon is a very long distance, and myammar is totally not safe at all,you never know what will happen there, so i intend to ask her to use another alternative route to singapore, that is to enter thailand through mae sai and travel up to chiangrai where i will meet her there and take a flight back to singapore.us100 for the passport? she told me its ard 2 k singapore, now i worry most is when it comes to applying pr for her because she commit an offence in another country few years ago

bro, dont do it the aleternate way cuz that;s illegal entry for her.
my girl's from kengtung and although it's nearer coming through thailand, they are not allowed to travel past a certain distance beyond maesai's border.
either u spend the $ and have her go the longer and safer way. or save ur money and risk her getting frisked on the way from maesai to bangkok checkpoints, and see her getting questioned like mad, and see her go back tachilek.
a few hundred extras is ok for her safety..
as for the pp, did it in july. costed me about 30k thb and took her 1 month to get it done. moved her to bkk and have her stay in bkk on legit ED visa which costed 40k a year.

Thanks to all the bros here who PM me recently, i think there's no much hope fo r my wife, and here's a brief account onto what happened.
Some time in 2004, my wife (who was my gf then) PVP pass ended and have been told that she's not allowed to come back to Singapore between 6-12mths. Some of you may know how it feels like not being with your love ones, she came back with a different passport just to be close to me.
In 2004 December, she was waiting for me in her brother-in-law's pub with some other friends, I was held up some where else and was suppose to meet her for dinner around 6pm but I got delayed till 930pm. By 10pm a raid was conducted ** location withheld ** and every one was rounded up, even some of our friends' wife who are married with PR status was also rounded up like dogs with cuffs, throw in a tour bus and hauled away. Fortunately, she was the first to let go. She explained herself to the police officer, the officer in-turn called me to verify the story and it tallied and was released *without charges whatsoever* but she was thumbprinted
After the 30-day expiry of passport chop, she returned to her country and came back later with her Real passport. 2-years later, we got married here in Singapore and Philippines. We checked if she had any record and NONE came up in ICA or Police. 3months after we got married, she was pregnant.
I wanted to re-start my family life sooo badly. I have a daughter from ex-wife (local) and she's horrible... (This is another long long story). My first daughter even calls my 2nd wife "mommy" and they are sooo close. My 2nd daughter is extremely attached to the mother. I thought its going to be smooth sailing from here on, until ICA came knocking on our door.
An I/O officer came personally to our home a few times, but I've told her not to open doors to people she don't know. There are so many cheating cases these days. I/O even popped in to my office to locate me, so I was quite curious and this NOT normal of ICA procedures. We proceeded to ICA building next couple of days and this is where my NightMare starts.
ICA shows her previous entry to Singapore with another passport, with her thumb-print etc. Not sure where they got it from but according to the officer, its from anti-vice. :( ICA has now proceeded to charge her even after telling them we have a daughter. Court proceedings will be some time end of December 2007.
Sadly, I was initially told that ICA won't deport her and there will not be any jail term etc. The said officer is now "on-leave", and now being handled by another officer, and he has concluded that ICA 'will' proceed with the charge.
My only concern now is our daughter. 9-mths, breast feeding, no-maid, no help, and I am working... How am I suppose to care for my daughter ??? We admit we were wrong, guilty as charged... but what about our daughter ? I looks like they did not take her into consideration. I was also told that after she serves her jail-term, she'll be returned to ICA for deportation. And Again, what about our daughter ? Do they mean that I have to send my daughter out of the country for good ? Once deported, it'll be extremely hard for wife to return to Singapore.. and AGAIN, wat about our daughter ?
I've gone to see my MP for help, and from the sound of his tone, there's nothing he, as an MP, can do .....
Sigh....

Bro,
The right way is u have to send her to yangon n go to the singapore embassy in yangon get a vise for her to come to singapore. They cannot use their passport to leave masai cos only in yangon they will submit a form D to leave their country.Remember that.(Taichilek to yangon then singapore). No shortcut.

usd100 you'll have to wait very long time, sometimes will even have application rejected. And I think you'll have to be in Yangon and know how actually the application process works, and do most of the running around yourself.
sgd2000 will buy you some quick and firm signatures, plus a runner that knows how to do the dirty job. Heard from a local that for some people, it's easier if they married a foreigner in Myanmar first ... can't remember reason she gave me, too long ago.
Ok ... sorry for intruding ... question is, she tried the Maesai route before?
Err, if things don't work out in Singapore, what with PR and stuff ...
Won't beat around the bush, but due to the recent problems in Myanmar, Thailand MAY :) have amnesty for refugees. If she knows people around Maesai, might wanna ask around. (Careful of cons)
Then you can hug your Beautiful Myanmese Wife in Bangkok while drooling at Thai puyings ... wonderful.

3 to 5 years is extremely long, i know that chances are close to nothing, but I still have to fight for it. This is afterall my Wife and my 9mth old daughter's future. Yes i am pretty sure my daughter can stay here, she's got a singapore passport. But how am i suppose to take care of her by myself ? get a maid ? that means more resources $$$ which I can't afford any longer. that leaves me 1 option, send her together with her mother. then what about education ? ok fine... she'll be about 6years old by then. Then what about re-entry into Singapore? If she's charge, she's got to declare truthfully... I don't think ICA at airport will let her thru unless I get a special invitation letter from ICA.
Law is made by men, and that CAN be bent if they want to... Sadly, I don't rub shoulders or shake hands with powerful ministers. While others that do rub shoulders with, they can get away from alot of things.

Let me give u an advance warning to u, Yr daughter is yr own assert problem, ICA don bother what problem u facing, they bo chap as yr daughter is born locally by a local ex wife. Let yr daughter cont. her education here, there prospect here.....as for yr 2nd wife, if u ask her for 3rd attempt and kenna caught, ban for life and 3mths jail plus SGD$10K+ fine, my meaning is ICA will escort personally her to airport and witness her fly off....Don think much bro, u don stand a chance in winning this case. Now LTSVP is very strict....only for degree holder and approve by MOM....either both yr parent can gua. her with min. income 5k+....or either a 3yrs profitable company under yr name....then ICA will approve her stay long in singapore, if not, u can forgot it....they don bother u at all....... :)
1) how to have 3.5k with 2yrs cpf if my degree finish next yr?
getting 2k+ per mth now w/o cpf
2) she dun have degree
3) min income 5k+ also dun have
4) no profitable company under my name also
sg gahment siao,.,,,,, if got all3.5k per mth or protfitable company.. sg ger will flock to us, y fins a prc ger?lol....

Bro,
The right way is u have to send her to yangon n go to the singapore embassy in yangon get a vise for her to come to singapore. They cannot use their passport to leave masai cos only in yangon they will submit a form D to leave their country.Remember that.(Taichilek to yangon then singapore). No shortcut.
So what if her LTSVP expires and need to travel back to taichilek? CAn she go through the route from singapore to chiangrai to taichilek? Can she apply for visa to enter thailand here at the singapore embassy? Ti personally feel that the route from taichilek to yangon is totally not safe, expecially after i have read articles on how women were rape there etc...

bro, kelwong already answered ur qn liao, overland route through the borders is a nono. and from tachilek to yangon, she FLIES, lands in yangon airport and heads to the singapore embassy (look for Sim) applies a visa, and she's able to come sg liao.
as mentioned by kelwong, they need to fill up a form that will be stamped by "some" general. u ask her to go to myanmar embassy in bangkok and do, general not there, and the people will ask her shitloads of qn on HOW she came to thailand, and wad the heck is she doing in thailand. moreover they need to show a return ticket (if in thailand, bkk-yangon) , which i suppose she wont have it unless u buy her 1, which costs extra money for nothing)
at least when she is in yangon, it's her country, it;s easier to get things done.
for PP, 100usd worth be prepared to wait long long time. sgd1.5-2k will get things done fast, and surprsingly equally legit.
Better still if u can meet her up in yangon, and go with her to the sg embassy to apply, it's even faster.
in a nutshell, it's either tachilek-yangon-singapore, or tachilek-yangon-bangkok-singapore by air or no go. overland route through chiangrai to bangkok is illegal for them. ask ur girl she will know.
lastly good luck to u and ur girl! hope she comes over and everything settled happily!

LTSVP is now only for degree holder, approved by MOM....no way yr gf can able to stay here long, have to wait for u after 3yrs lor, unless she apply student pass. If u don have the above requirement, there is no chances for her to stay long in singapore, as mention again, SG want TALENT PPLs....to contribute and finance singapore. If u wish to apply PR, must have the above requirement, either yr pay or yr gf education level.
Bro, be frank la, I have many local and prc gfs.......I still prefer PRC.
Reason:
1) Local demanding high expectation, think they are Rare Beauty.
2) Local work abit longer, KPKB liao....cannot do hard labour job.
3) Local will say gdbye to u if u r a poor chap. Only a few will stick to u and support u all the way.
4) Local have educated brain unlike PRC , no planning for future, but in term of feeling and understanding, they are much better than Local, Local don understand abt guy needs, only know how to kpkb....make guys sian 1/2 liao.
5) Local wan the best stuff/enjoyment out of the world, PRC don...if the things too exp. , they will work hard and pay yr own.

Errr...just to clarify....but this one is what kind of requirement?!?! I have many friends and even my own brother who is earning less than 3k and still able to get PR for their wife. Unless you are someone working in ICA then maybe can confirm this is a fact now which just changed recently? Or is it base on your assumption and from what you experience?

curiously, does finance has anything to do with PR(marriage) application? Maybe it does if you're applying for PR due to professional reasons.
Think they just want to make sure the guy can support his wife and it's not a fake marriage?
A friend just finally got PR for his wife(PRC) after they almost sent her back. Went thru' MP, maybe that helped a little. His pay is definitely less than 2k, think around 1.5k now ... was jobless before like 2 months ago too.
Maybe just lucky.
If you're sincere, there's no hidden stories and definitely can support her here, just keep trying ... no reason for them to deny you your life.

usd100 you'll have to wait very long time, sometimes will even have application rejected.
I paid US100 and i am not in Yangon at all when the PP is in process. Although waited for 2 months but my wife still get her PP.

Ok, have u graduate for 2yrs ago and working with cpf in. U stand a higher chance if either 1 party is a degree holder....there many ways to approve for LTSVP and PR status....If for yr case above, chances is 60%. I also seen many samples in PRC, where the wives left the husbands after they got bankrupt. Very practical. End of the days there r no hard rules/facts/... stating which country gers are better for lifetime wife. It all boils down to individual ger.
Lastly, there is no point "fighting/arguing/reasoning" on which nationality gers r better. It is fate to marry a person u love, no one knows the future. Just treasure the present n hope for the future. :D

She may be sure that there is no records of her marriage in Singapore....but dont ever get caught by ROM or ICA...since you need to take the oaths during marriage, then everything must be true...in case u swear falsely....you are accounted for what you have said during the oaths....

Hi all, after reading a few of the stories here, I hope fellow samsters here can advise me on my story. I met my wife while on a trip to hatyai. We both fell in love with each other. After a few mths into the relationship, she came to s’pore and visited me and returned without any problem. After deciding that she was the one for me, I decided to marry her so on her 2nd visit to s’pore, we went to Rom and file a notice of marriage and then proceed to Ica to extend her visa. This is when the problem start. While filing up our application , there was a column stating whether she have came into s’pore before using a different name or passport before. ( previously when she was working in s’pore, she was using another name. But after she returned to Thailand she changed her name and when she came to visit me in s’pore she was using her new name new passport ). she also told me that she had also previously work in geylang licensed brothel and before she left for Thailand, she was made to sign a letter stating that she was not allow to marry any s’porean. We decided to tell the truth and indicates yes and stating the reason. As soon as the officer read that part of the section, she was immediately taken away and was charged in court. She was sentenced to 8 mths and deported immediately after her released. I have appealed to Ica through my ( MP ) countless of times but each time our application for her to enter Singapore is always rejected. The only way for me to see her is to visit her in thai but this is too tedious for me as I’m running a business. We have a child now and that my application for the child to be a s’pore citizen was approved however my latest application for the mum to enter s’pore was rejected yet again. Is looking for MP to help the only avenue or is there some other way?

Haiz.....sad encounter for u, there no other way to help u, bro, rules is being set by ICA Govt. are not meant to be broke....bcos she have sign the letter of brothel agreement. ICA don allow marriage under brothel due to several reasons. In the 1st place, u guys have did a wrong way....should not indicate yes....be frank even yes/no also banned, u rather place yes. well friend if u marry her in sgp n singapore wants to know whether she been married in her homeland then u will have a problem.
it the same, to marry a thai, we need to produce records that we are not married in sgp n no criminal record before we can get marry in thailand. this papers are needed during rom in thailand.
She's now 28 but according to her that there will not have any record in Singapore showing she's married in Philipines?
Only that she can't re-marry in Philiphine coz' legally she's still married on paper.
I'm now self-employ.
Thanks!

She may be sure that there is no records of her marriage in Singapore....but dont ever get caught by ROM or ICA...since you need to take the oaths during marriage, then everything must be true...in case u swear falsely....you are accounted for what you have said during the oaths....
If everyone go by this matter...I can go different country and have one wife each country roi...
unless the person who lie wanna sit in jail if she marry and dont declare. i remember one of the ICA forms actually ask the applicant the ex husband or ex wife info.

Hehe, most impt is yr CPF contribution on the past 2yrs,must be steady income....Degree is a very gd advantage. Once u able to furish all document and marriage cert., u can endorse for LTSVP, after 3yrs, a PR will be given if nothing happen.
bad...
nothing to show..
next yr can only show honours degree
then 3 yrs later then can show past 2 yr CPF contribution

Hi all Bros,
Let says you are a local graduate but your salary does not hit S$3.5k and your wife-to-be is not well eduated, does that means that LTSVP and PR would be hard to get for your partner?
Thom
if you truly love her, u don't need to worry even if $1000 salary with no education... she should feel the same way as well... or else divorce will be on the table. choose wisely my friend.
i'm going thru a very rough life with wife now... I have finally found some one that I know that TRULY loves me for what i am and what i have, even though I'm dead broke after settling debts with divorce of 1st wife. she's right by me, have a baby together even though she knows what we will go thru later... now that my wife is in deep sh[t with ICA (see previous postings), she;s still right by me and vis versa. To me, this is TRUE love

Some pp might think of getting another passport to enter again. But if you ask around, you may discover nowadays changhi airport scan thumbprint of any suspected vistor, especially PRC girls.
The consequences of illegal enter is upto 30 years jail but normally endup around 15 months. If you really love your girl, dont ever take this move. You may want to consider to move over and settle both of you somewhere else.
Also, any Singaporean who sponsor a foreigner for illegal enter into Singapore is a very very serious offence.
