KUALA LUMPUR: British American Tobacco Malaysia (BAT Malaysia) has announced an increase in the prices of all its cigarette brands.
Effective today, the new price for Dunhill, Kent and Benson & Hedges is set at RM10.50 (S$4.28) while Peter Stuyvesant and Pall Mall range will be sold at RM9.00 (S$3.67) each.
The price for Pall Mall plain, Lucky Strike and Rothmans International are revised to RM10.90 (S$4.44) each.
BAT Malaysia managing director Datuk William Toh said the company was facing inflationary pressures, labour and input costs, resulting in the rise of its operating costs.
In addition, he said, the legal tobacco industry volumes were also affected by continuing high levels of illicit trade.
