First time starting a thread. Encouragement greatly appreciated.

This is just to share my experience with the removing of pubic hair in and around the pubic region which includes the scrotum, penis, perineum and anus with the 3 ways above.

For information only, as there are often posts popping up with regards to this question. & I keep it short. Others samster, with their personal experience are free to share.

Shaving

Shaving is one of the most inexpensive method of removing hair. You can choose to DIY, but having a partner to help will be better to ensure that all hairs are shaved properly, especially the perineum and anus area. Personally tried shaving initially, but tend to be too difficult and the hair grows very fast, hence decided to proceed with Waxing.

PROS: inexpensive (cost of shaver and shaving cream only). can do it anytime you want.
CONS: might cut yourself if not careful. hair will grow out in few days time. When the hair grow out, it will cause itches and discomfort. Hair will tend to grow back coarser. require to do very often to maintain, like every few days. feels smooth for only few days

A guide on how to Shave can be found here:
http://www.wikihow.com/Shave-Your-Pubic-Hair

Waxing

Waxing is another non-permanent hair removal method. Note: it is non-permanent, which means that the hair will grow back once you stop. Unlike shaving that removes hair from the skin surface, waxing removes hair from the root. Not easy to DIY, although there are off-the-shelf products, it is still better to leave it to the professionals. Personally tried waxing at Winkwax, but very fast decided to jump in and proceed with IPL instead.

PROS: relatively affordable (at some places). do not require to do it as often as shaving. skin will feels smooth for longer period as compare to shaving
CONS: might be painful for some during the removal process. require additional skin care products if you have sensitive skin. like shaving it will itch and discomfort when the hair begins to grows out

IPL

IPL is a more permanent hair removal method. Some says it is permanent, but what I understand from my therapist is that even through most of the hair are remove. some time, new baby hair may grow. This should not be too much of a concern. Currently, I'm still halfway through my IPL, and I've only completed about 6 sessions.

Frankly, the results were quite satisfactory, with most of the hair at the public region gone. Except for some part which is more difficult to remove due to the darker skin colour, like near the base of penis, and scrotum area.

Occasionally, can see some fine hair growing, but these should be gone as I continue with my sessions. fingers cross.

PROS: permanent hair removal. faster hair removal process compare to waxing (~20mins~30mins). Less painful compare to wax, little bit like ants bite. IPL will also helps to lighten skin colour, so if you have dark skin this helps too. It doesn't itch as compare to the other 2 methods.
CONS: expensive. require to routinely do it to achieve the right results. as it depends on the hair to slowly drop off, result is not immediate unlike waxing. hair may not be permanently remove.

There are others hair removal methods out there, like hair removal cream etc. But because I've not tried those before, I cannot comment and provide information for.

So guess, that's it. Hope this be a good headstart for those looking to remove those unwanted hair. :)

Hi crossfir3, it really depends on where u did it.

Strip is very expensive. I did it at BB-Beauty.

recently, they up the price, they used to be package deal of 7 sessions at $960.

now i'm not too sure on their latest price.

I bought a Philips SC2002 IPL to do it myself. It's about US$500, but the lamp is supposed to last for 100,000 flashes, so should last for many years.

It's working well for me, and now not much need to shave, less than once per week. New hair is also very thin and not prickly at all. The trick is to cool the skin down with ice then flash with the highest setting. Note that since this is home IPL system, it is less strong than the commercial system, so it will take longer and more sessions before the hair is gone... For me, it took about 3 months, with 1 session every 12-14 days.. Now, I just do "maintenance" sessions about once every 3-4 weeks...

Hi Bro. When will the hair start to drop off after first session of IPL?

Hair - about 4 days after the session.
It is a gradual process, so it might not be obvious day after day.
But will be obvious as compared to before the session of IPL.

Veriton,
Why should guys not try IPL?

Bro, Interested to know. Done by lady or man.
What happens if you do IPL, and uncontrollably, the cock erects. Does it get embarrassing?

I have done waxing before. But I do not enjoy the pain of removing it and like what TS mentioned, if you have sensitive skin, it's gonna leave a mark. I have been sticking to shaving instead. Although the topic of IPL is interesting, I may give it a try. Thanks for sharing.

Mine's done by lady.
Not easy to erect with the zapping. Anyway, u will be wearing a kind of goggle to prevent lights from entering your eyes, so u can't see the expression of the gal even when u erect. Lolx.

Hi All,

I've bros asking me whether if the gals does special. & whether I use a specific gals etc.

I'd like to clarify that the place is a clean place whether many ladies go for their pedicure / manicure / facial etc. Hence those gals are professionals in their work. There are no "specials" at all.

For me, I'm not selective of the person doing IPL for me, hence any one that's working that day will do.

As for whether is it painful, they will keep the pain to the minimum. The pain is like ant bite whenever they zap u with the gun.

hope these clarifies.

Just upgraded to a full boyzilian ytd. At first it feels embarrassed to have my 'secret region' seen by another female other than my lovely wife. However, these therapists are very professional and have seen so many. Plus u will be subconsciously be concerned when they your shaft is being shaved prior to the IPL so won't get erected. I asked the therapist what if their client does have an erection, she replied it's normal and they will just get on with the process.
