if aft 5 yrs the person is still your best friend, companion in life, the person u cared alot for, interested to talk to. basically u read the LKY long marriage n love - thats how long term love looks like.

There are a few things help to test.

1. If there is something makes you very happy (e.g long wanted promotion) or you saw something very beautiful (e.g. a big round full moon). Is she the first person comes to your mind that you wanted to share with?

2. Same for sad occasions. Who do you wish to comfort you most?

3. How often you think about her sub-consciously?

4. Do you have the urge to rush home/meeting location to see her after your work.

5. You try your best not to upset/disappoint her?

The list can goes on, but I believe you get the idea.

If your answer is some yes and some no or yes for a reason, than maybe your love to her is fading.

- hug n kiss each other gdbye whenever one off to work.
- long to meet one if no meet for few days (away for trip or becos of work)
- when u see or do something or at a certain place outside, reminds u of d other half.
- Meeting up just a short while for a meal b4 one off to work
- Taking d trouble to meet up even how far d distance is

I believe 5 years is a good benchmark.

It's either you get married or you end a relationship, not because you do not love each other anymore but more like you do not want to hold up each other.

Your question on whether you know you still love her or not already answered by some samsters, just want to share with you my personal experience.

For me, I choose to end a 5 years plus relationship because I know he is not the man I want to wake up with every morning and not the father I hope my kid will have, if I ever have a kid that is. Lol.

You are still young so time is still on your side. Hope you find out the answer soon. :-)

Long relationships are nice. Its not love, or not just love anymore. Its a sort of familiarity and being so comfortable with each other, and Its so much better than sweet flirty love. That is the idea of marriage. Marriage is comfortable and still acting like sweethearts.


Anyway I digressed. If u want to know if u love someone, you may try asking yourself 'would you rather her or someone else'. Or think differently with a 'would I rather me or someone else.'
