To be honest, I am reading lots of nonsense (said from my opinion and with all due respect for others who commented).

Since you are in Batam for few hours, family members around, don't have hotel and time to waste, your best bet is one and only: go to the massage joints mentioned here multiple times and ask for ST. Not the massage places where at best they show you a book with photos, or you go to room for massage and hope in a special. I mean the "massage joints" where you see the line up for booking girls.

They provide the room and for 50%-60% of the booking price you get the same girl for one shot. You see a l ine up and you can also chat briefly to check attitude and "chemistry". Easy and painless. Tell your family you go for a walk. Take an ojek and ask him to take you to a place for girls as Bunga, Happy, Sedona, etc.. AVOID MORENA.

I just arrived to Batam. Lot of time WASTED for this stupid burocracy of the SIM card registration: from the time I buught the SIM cards to the time I saw them working, more than one hour (and I waited only 15 mins at Grapari).

I had 200 USD to change, so I did not invest much time to look around for the best rate. I just asked at the FIRST shop from left in front of Formosa, and the lady offered me 13.300.
I knew it was too low, so I walked to one on the street in front of Nagoya Hill, and the first offered me 13.600 for USD and 3.500 for RM. Deal made. No need to investigate further for 5k more.

I just buy a iM3 sim card for 50k rupiah...for data sim card,may cost a bit more,eg 100k rupiah,also no need to register. Extra 25k rupiah (service charge of 2k rupiah applies) can be topped up at the same location too. And iM3 sim card tho No Need to register WILL expire within about 2 weeks to One Month's time if i choose not to register, thats according to the staff/s in their service center at Nagoya Hill Mall...

The radio station didnt state which ferry terminal they will be travelling from but base on their past record, they will probably go via Batam center in the morning. But their itinerary would most likely be around BCS and Nagoya Hill Mall in most cases so i will avoid places they usually goes to. I dont like crowded places. They usually return back to Singapore during the later noon as they checked out of hotel about 12pm - 1pm.

Whenever these radio stations promotes Batam,the crowd can be rather enormous and its especially so during the 1st weekend of the month. I will avoid clean massage places if i happen to be there too,hehehe... (radio station Batam trip also promotes some free/PWP massage)

I used to bring one of those certain Singapore hawker committee members to Batam,and as i do not wish to leave behind a no-good impression to visit those not-so-clean area, i would bring them to BCS mall and drop them at a theater for about 2 hours for a cheap movie,and i walk over to New Spa to have my good time. And if i bring them to Nagoya Hill Mall,i will drop in to Delta Spa,or Kings.

Now it's Indonesian LAW that ALL SIM cards MUST BE registered to be used, not just those by Majestic.
The sellers at Majestic should warn those who buy. If they don't warn, they are not providing a good service to their customers. Nearly a scam, I'd say.

XI brand no need to register? They cannot be out of Indonesia Law. Probably they allow a grace period before being blocked (see below).

The above really surprises me. Things in Indonesia are never straightforward.
As pointed aout above, now it's Indonesian Law that all SIM cards MUST BE registered to be used.
If what you write above is correct, it means that not all Indonesian telephone operators obey to law in the same way. Those operators must allow a grace period (two weeks?) before blocking unregistered SIM cards.

Certainly, allowing a grace period before blocking is what all Operators should do, to allow foreign tourists to use telco services, when they stay just few days in Indonesia, without forcing them to queue for hours at a customer service point.

By the way, most civil countries now require registration of users for each SIM card sold, but this registration is something that is done quickly by the same small shop which has a license to sell SIM cards.
Also in Singapore, when I bought my last SIM cards, I had to provide my passport to the seller: he entered my data in the system, made a photocopy of passport, and that was all. Hassle free.

Indonesia found a way to make things complex and troublesome with its burocracy also this time.
Here below, how it works for Telkomsel (I do not exlude that other operators follow a different procedure, as posters above reported, in particular allowing a grace period)

TELKOMSEL SIM CARD REGISTRATION IN BATAM

My experience yesterday Sunday

I go to Lucky Plaza to buy my SIMPATI SIM cards (one for the GSM phone, another for the MIFI modem for Internet access for my cell phone and laptop) at my usual shop.

There, they confirm that Simpati cards need to be registered before being used. Without registration, cards cannot be activated and are "dead".
They can help for registration for locals, using the Indonesian ID card number, but cannot do anything for foreigners, as they have no access to the system to enter passport data.

They suggest me to go to GraPARI (Nagoya Hill next to JCo) and buy cards there directly, because if I buy cards from them I have to go to GraPARI anyway.

I go to GraPARI, where a very kind employee, without making me wait the queue, informs me that cards there are out of stock. I must go to shop, buy cards, then go back to register.

I rush back to shop. I buy two Simpati cards (50k for a card for only calls, 50k for a card with 2GB of Internet paket + 4GB for video, chat, etc).

I rush back to GraPARI. I get queue number. I wait 20 mins, then the only employee who speaks English welcomes me.
He does all the process entering my passport data into the system.
I try the GSM phone, ok.
I try the MIFI modem with the SIM card with Internet paket, but it does not work. The modem says "no valid SIM card". At this point, I was losing hope, but here is when I love Indonesian people.

The employee offers me to try the SIM card in HIS mobile phone. He leaves the desk, goes to take it, comes back, enter the card into his phone, start calling and surfing Internet, proving that the card was valid indeed.
He speculates that maybe I bought the MIFI modem in Batam and it is not ok (ahah)
Not at all. My MIFI modem has been tested in many countries in all continents.
You know what? I try again and now it works! The SIM card probably needed to be started on a phone for the first time and first access to the network, because now it works perfectly in my modem!

I realize that the employee did much more than his plain job for which he is paid. He also spent more time with me than for others.
I offer him "Can I offer you anything? Would you like me to go to JCo to bring you something to drink?"
He blushes and says "I don't know... maybe capuccino...."
In 5 minutes I am back with a cappuccino. He looks so happy and surprised.
Good guy.

I note that I WASTED MORE THAN 1 HOUR after I bought my SIM cards, just for this registration thing.

Procedure to register a SIMPATI SIM CARD in Batam

1) You can buy SIM cards anywhere.

2) To be used, Simpati cards MUST be registered first. No grace period. (I am surprised to read that other operators allow a grace period)

3) If you are Indonesian, you can register your card on your own, immediately, sending a SMS to a Telkomsel number including two ID numbers (KTP and KK - I don't understand why Indonesian must have TWO identity cards). That's it.

4) If you are foreigner, the only way to register the card is going to a Telkomsel GraPARI (3 points in Batam: Nagoya Hill, Batam Centre, Penuin) with your passport. Plan to queue for at least 15 minutes, if not more than one hour.

5) Registration is forever, BUT the card will expire if you don't top up once in a while. I am pretty sure that if I don't top up, next time I will be back to Indonesia I will have to repeat the whole procedure :mad:

It is obscure to me why in Indonesia the same shop which sells the SIM card cannot also register the number. Or, to say it better, if unlicensed people can sell SIM cards in pasar, why not to allow larger shops to access the database to register the SIM cards when they sell it?
The bottleneck is exactly this one: only GraPARI can register cards, while hundreds thousand cards need to be registered.

Maybe you did not read the second half of my post, where I explain the procedure required by Telkomsel.
No way it could be named "simple", and I don't think you have a secret way to access the Telkomsel database system.
If your secret way "to go around it" is to use the ID of some Indonesian, be careful that each individual can register up to 3 SIM cards.
Using the ID of an Indonesian can work only if
a) EITHER you have many friends not interested to register 1 or 2 SIM cards for their own purposes,
b) OR you are not interested to register more than 1 SIM card.
If you case is not one of the above, you have to use your data.

If they willing to use someone's info to register.
As I explained in the second part of my post, my sentence

means that they can help the customer by sending the appropriate SMS to the Telkcomsel numbers. Not everyone feels comfortable to do that. At the GraPARI, I saw more than one queuing to be helped to register their SIM card, and they were Indonesian. Simply "telephonically illiterate".

Each set of NIK/KTP + KK can have more then 3 sim card per telco operator. Only the first 3 sim card can register by sms or online. After the 3 sim cards, have to register at GraPARI.

As for Kartu Keluarga, many countries have it also.

All sim card need to be registered. Even XL. Just that they give a two week grace period for new sim card. After that still have to register, else phase 1 of blocking (no sms, no call), then phase 2, full blocking.

I dont know if this works or any benefits for you, but just suggest.
Instead of keep changing new no., next time just go to GraPARI, tell them your sim card was expired. And you wants to buy a new sim card with the same old no. Since you already registered that no. under your passport.

Bro BP, u dun need to understand their system of working, just look closely at ur newly bought sim card, stated 4G sim card, anytime u log into the internet, 24/7 most of the time u can get is H signal, and even in mid night also can't stay constantly at 3G. So just live with it.

In Mar went there buy a SIM data@rp35K, 1Gb, top up 10K, expiry in Nov'18
Last Wed , went with 3 kakis n found MUST register at 4 shops we tried.

Technically,we are touring a 3rd world country. Whatever policy the government has impose,the bottom people getting imposed on usually has a way or some ways to work around it.

Before i stepped into Batam on April, i had that mindset of testing things out,hence i tried this upon myself at Harbour Bay. Upon debarking ,arrived to chop my passport,luggage check and walked out,i walked about 25 steps to the nearest sim card selling shop to ask for a sim card, as of below link :

All i did was when i arrived to the shop is asked :

Me : I need a sim card for a few days in Batam,what would you recommend that i use without the need to register?

Shop vendor : This one is good and cheap,you can try this one. (he took out iM3 sim card to show me)

Me : How much is it ? Can i test it on my phone?

Shop vendor : Yes, it cost 50k rupiah. And it will last you for a more than a week.

Me : Thank you,i will take it if it works. (i took out my previous sim card from my phone and pass to him)

Upon reaching the hotel,i found out there was less than 10k inside the sim card i bought and i top up another 25k (+2k) at the Circle K at the ground floor of the hotel. And ta da! i have an unregistered sim card to use during my stay.


5) Registration is forever, BUT the card will expire if you don't top up once in a while. I am pretty sure that if I don't top up, next time I will be back to Indonesia I will have to repeat the whole procedure :mad:

When i hear from my friends that to register for my old blocked sim card gonna take more than an hour of waiting time, my original plan wasnt to go there to wait that long,hehehe...my plan was to ask my girls to wait on behalf for me and to call me on my mobile phone (in my new sim card from iM3) when my turn were almost up...but things turn out differently instead,hehehe...i go to Telkomsel service center shop at Nagoya Hill Mall at the time they just open shop and the wait wasnt really that long. :D

More importantly, there wasnt a big crowd. All was done within 30mins and since iM3 service center is just opposite Telkomsel's service center, i use part of the less than 30mins waiting time at Telkomsel to go register my iM3 sim card (since i was holding my passport).

History has spoke of this before. I remember many years ago,when they change their old currency note to new ones whereby they say the old notes will no longer be legal tender and the only legal notes were the new ones...then, there was a big mad rush.

All sim card need to be registered. Even XL. Just that they give a two week grace period for new sim card. After that still have to register, else phase 1 of blocking (no sms, no call), then phase 2, full blocking.

I think this is the last time I buy the second SIM card for the GSM phone. I am noticing that even the poorest girls working in Newton now have a phone with WhatsApp. I still did not use the GMS phone to keep contact with someone who does not have WhatsApp. I may need it if if I go hunting girls in Pasar, but for the moment I do not plan to do that :p

To be fair with Telkomsel, I am satisfied with their 4G. It may be not like in Singapore, but today I tested the transfer speed in 3 places (Formosa, Nagoya Hill, somewhere around) and at all times the download/upload speed was around 8-12 Mbit/s. Not bad, and better than the wifi of Formosa (max 2 Mbit/s)
The light on my MIFI modem is almost always blue, which means I am connected to HSDPA or LTE, seldom green (3G)

I am reading HERE that SOME telcos do sell SIM cards that have a grace period without registration before blocking. What you suggest works ONLY with one such telco.

Telkomsel DOES NOT. Simpati SIM cards MUST be registered before using, even for first call. No grace period.

I went to a shop at Lucky Plaza and they sell only Simpati. So, no choice there. Even if I am keen to try another operator as you suggest, I must go to the appropriate shop to find it. With Simpati, I have no other choice then register it (at GraPARI unless I don't find a local KTP/KK).

Ok, you may argue "Why you want Simpati? Take another one". Correct, but it has to be investigated whether the coverage and performance of Telkomsel is the same as other operators. A sales girl in Lucky Plaza just explained me that from 1st May all SIM cards from ALL OPERATORS have to be registered before first use. No more grace periods on XL and others. All the same as Simpati.
I suggest to be careful before buying, hoping to "work around" and use it without registering.

I love how well is staff trained in Batam. They are always smiling, but at times I wish I could use a gun to move them (kidding).

1) At Jco, I stand at the cashier for 5 minutes, before someone comes to me and says "closed, go to the other one". Of course, the cash machine was not off and everything looked ok. We were two queueing without attention.

2) At Jco, it is often impossible to convey the easy concept of "Double Espresso". They have an "Espresso Uno" and "Espresso Due" on the menu. There is also the "Extra shot" option, which means a full cup (3 single-shot espresso in one cup). Still, every time there is a new staff it seems we are discovering together the world.
Today I had to show him that ON THEIR MENU there is an "Espresso", there is the option "Due", and that is different from "Extra shot". I also had to explain him the prices.
Before that, he was still asking "Ice coffee?" and no way he could understand what is "Double".

One more example: on my first day I went to GraPARI to register my two cards: one for only calls on GSM, the other for only data on MIFI modem. I reported the whole story here.
Now, the card for Internet data is working ok, but I just discovered that the other card HAS BEEN NOT CORRECTLY REGISTERED, in spite of having done the procedure at an official GraPARI and not in a small street vendor.
I got a message: register now or you will be blocked. I can receive calls and SMS, but I cannot call neither send SMS

I went back to GraPARI today. I did not use this GSM phone yet, but who knows if one night I may need it and the card is still blocked?

I enter the room and aaagghhh :eek: it's FULL of Indonesian in need of any service including registration (many people do not feel capable to send an SMS to the service number).

I try to explain my problem to the trainee at the reception. She calls an employee from back-office. Good he speaks English. He does not make me wait hours, but takes my phone and my photocopy of passport and disappears in the back. This is one of the times that being a kind bule with a bright smile brings some advantage. That queue was LONG.

After a while, he comes back. He confirms the SIM card was not registered, but he did it now. Now it works :o We try to call someone together. So good.

I try to complain for this new Indonesian thing about registration, that I come for 1 week, and every time I am supposed to throw away expired cars and repeat this Registration Ordeal at GraPARI. Surprise! He shows me a sheet posted on the wall:

:eek::eek: He tells me to enter my passport number as NIK and closing omitting NOKK, which is just for Indonesian. He keeps on confirming and saying "yes sure also for foreign passports, no problem".:eek:

I don't know if I should believe this or not, but he is sincere. Someone can try. If it works, at this point I would also say that one can enter ANY number, as I don't believe the system can check the validity of a passport of another country.

The wifi in Formosa sucks. In this moment, I am measuring about 1 Mbit/s download and 1.6 Mbit/s upload. Yesterday I achieved 2 Mbit/s + 2 Mbit/s.
EDIT 05/05/2018: To be fair, today it was better: 4 Mbit/s + 4,20 Mbit/s.

On the MIFI with Telkomsel Simpati card, before I was achieving around 10-15 Mbit/s from my room in Formosa, yesterday around Nagoya Hill less than that, but however never less than 4 Mbit/s.

Actually, i have seen the same kind of slippers at Biz Hotel, Da Vienna, Batam City Hotel, Goodway Hotel, Utama Hotel, Gideon Hotel and a handful of other hotels too,hehehe...i think there are a few suppliers for the same kind of slipper. They do change the type of hotel supplies from time to time.

Formosa no longer have those nice-looking long white comb anymore,they change their kind of shaver somewhere last year too. I prefer those older version of shaver and comb but i like their new slipper tho.

Hotels also carry local Indonesian guests's info with them too. I think its either last year or the year before the last,i have given Formosa's marketing a little piece of my mind that he has not been able to keep their customer's info secured enough. I wasnt the only one who told him off about the same thing (i heard other customers complained too).

The same apply for most other hotels too (most people dont have a choice).

Standard rates for ST/LT are 400/800k from WeChat.
However, beware that what you get is not what you expect. They always use a pretty girl to seduce you and send another plain looking girl to you. Just reject the girls not up to your expectations and do not book for LT as these girls will disappear with all sorts of excuses after one round. WeChat girls are extremely unsafe, probably good only for ST at 400k. Also, locked all your assets including handphone, cash etc... In your room safe before any action.
It is much safer to book girls from the joints, massage places, spas, etc... If go with taxi or local guys, the extra commissions of 300k will be added to the price.

You described very well all the negative sides of going to Batam on Ramadan to the purpose of booking girls. One should keep all that in mind.

In my case, all those aspects you enumerated have a limited impact, as I am not used (anymore) to book girls overnight from joints. I hunt in disco and I try to talk with girls anywhere at daytime, just in case any of them is willing to arrange a meeting at night. From my perspective, the only big problem of Ramadan is that discos close at 2am instead of 5am-7am. Except that, I always liked to see the place more quiet, with less people around.

What i did during Ramadan month some time ago is to book hotel only for 1 night when i planned to stay for 3 nights. With less competitions (less hotel occupancy), from there i get an extra dinner voucher for any extra night of stay,hehehe...

The "ST only" if only referring to girls that you get through Wechat or from places such as Morena. Those names above, such as Gold Bird (now Hai Lai), Bunga, Happy 8, KupuKupu etc, are ok to take LT.

Theory being these joints, if the girls chut pattern, you can lodge your complain to the OKT. It happened to me once. Took a girl from GoldBird and she decided to steal some cash from my pants. She did stay until the next day then leave though. After she left, I did some counting and found 500k missing. Every year's Ramadan is different. So far over the last 3 Ramadan (2017,2016 and 2015),raids were quite frequent (either more or less) that most if not all booking joints, jackpot shops,KTVs,Discotheques and MPs were all closed during the 1st 3,Mid 3 and last 3 days of Ramadan.

Batam Police not hungry? Impossible and no one will believe,hehehe....what i heard of its their election is coming,the bottom people were being "fed" (whether they are well-fed or not is another thing altogether). Another thing which i analyze could be the anti-terrorist squad all over most tourist spot which is from another department of the police. Department A see department B "eating", department B may have red eyes, or department B may be worry that department A may "make noise" if they start eating for the wrong reason/s,hence creating social unrest.

Nonetheless, i am almost sure there will be something out there getting fed on. Just hope it isnt tourists and/or the Batam entertainment business entities again this time round. The aftermath effect on tourism due to the recent terrorism at Surabaya and Jakarta were already bad enough,constant raids by their very own people to eat their own people will only make things worse.

Or perhaps can just think simple, police busy with terrorist for now,hehehe...no time to "eat" others. (at least they get their priorities right this year)

The moment I step out few mins later, any guy approached offered a ride, desperately wanted to get rid of the first guy, I agreed to be feteched to my next destination Harmoni hotel. He took me to an alley where the first guy was waiting. The beaten me and asked for monies, I gave around 200K Rp to the first guy, but they werent satisfied and took my IC. The second guy held it and forced me to ride his bike, in the pretext to send me to the Formosa hotel. Out of no choice I rode his bike, so when near the hotel, he asked for some more money and gave me back my ic. I gave abt 10K rp and took back my IC. They guy left quickly. I then walked into the hotel and asked for a taxi back to the Batam center where I came from. When I reached, I felt pain all over my body and found a few bruises. There was a big hole the back of my shirt!

Furthermore,in accordance to what was share by some senior bros earlier,i shall respect their religious culture.

I was alone walking along Harnoni hotel area around 9pm looking for a massage shop.

Base on the fact that if i have not been to batam for a few years,i will definitely read this thread & the older one dated since 2007 which constantly talks abt ramadhan month. i will also NEVER be going to look for massage shop around harnoni hotel area during the first 3 days of ramdhan since i read most if not all massage shops will be CLOSED during this time of the year.

Those open will close early too.

There was a guy who rode bike and tried to offer my a ride and tried to recommend girls. Despite politely said not interested, he trailed me.At last I decided to hide inside KFC pretending to buy foods. Some how and rather, he waited outside and informed his gang.

I now learned from u that i should NOT take any girls from any motorbike riders & if i knew i am being marked by the people around,i will not hide in any restaurant since its going to become an open target for them. I need to be streetsmart enough.

The moment I step out few mins later, any guy approached offered a ride, desperately wanted to get rid of the first guy, I agreed to be feteched to my next destination Harmoni hotel.

Since i am able to notice the motorbike rider who trailed me previously has a gang of people who were also motorbike rider,common sense would have taught me that i CANNOT take another motorbike ride from there anymore.

Harmoni hotel & its nearby KFC is only a small street across (not a big main road but only a small walkway street),probably only take less than a min to walk across for even someone who is handicapped. I would not have make Harmoni hotel my next destination using motorbike,but would rather fast walk there instead.

I will request Harmoni Hotel's bellboy or any of their staff to hail me a taxi to go back to my hotel if i am really really having the feeling that my safety is being compromised.

He took me to an alley where the first guy was waiting. The beaten me and asked for monies, I gave around 200K Rp to the first guy, but they werent satisfied and took my IC.

The guy who took yr IC isn't very smart,if i am him,i will take yr mobile phone,yr wallet & everything u are wearing,including yr pp.

On the IC part,u are considered very lucky.

The second guy held it and forced me to ride his bike, in the pretext to send me to the Formosa hotel. Out of no choice I rode his bike, so when near the hotel, he asked for some more money and gave me back my ic. I gave abt 10K rp and took back my IC. They guy left quickly.

Proof that the guy who give u the ride is a straight guy,otherwise things would have been worse & u probably won't have 10k to give him to get back yr IC.

I then walked into the hotel and asked for a taxi back to the Batam center where I came from. When I reached, I felt pain all over my body and found a few bruises. There was a big hole the back of my shirt!

U still have money with u to take a taxi to BC,i hope u have yr passport along with u as well,& this is where i say u are lucky the first & second motorbike rider were not smart enough to take yr passport but instead took yr IC.

Come to think of it,u were in NED at abt 9pm,i assume yr ordeal probably ends around 10pm, by the time u reach BC it should be abt 11pm,why would u go BC for? To stay at the streets of BC overnight so u can take a morning ferry home the next morning?

The is a real story and I won’t response as I will never go to BAtan again . this place is very different from last visit years back. So bros, pls extremely careful if you are alone. try to call taxi and fetch you to the destination straight.

Reading about the incidents of extortion, robbery and the difficulties of getting services during this period, I had previously advised all bros to give Batam and Balai a miss until a few days after Ramadan. Do not take the chances and it is just not worth the while to go to these places now. Stay in Singapore or go further north to Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Philippines or even China. I havent tried before,but i do have friends who used to stay there. Their in-house MP is clean and is rather expensive as compare to those hanky panky MP around Utama area.

The closest place you can get a happy ending where you stay would be Delta Spa, which is about 5 min walk from Nagoya Hill Hotel. But its not cheap either,comparing with New Spa,Octopus and Venus. Delta Spa is not a Men Spa which i would like to go to (or would recommend to my closer friends to go),so i didnt have an exact pricing,but it should be at least above 500k rupiah today (guessing).

Just an update :

Venus Spa annual membership has gone up to 105k rupiah,according to a recent PM from a friend. Standard package is at around 417k rupiah.

Sometime if i am early,i might need to wait for them to break fast,hehehe...their front door will usually have some OKT's assistant guiding would-be customer/s to the back door.

Membership fee for Venus SPA has always been 100k + 5k tax. Hence, the 105k. It's been this amount since my first visit more than a year ago.

The standard package is 425k. After 30% member's discount, it's 297k. Standard package includes usage of (very basic) gym facilities, steam & sauna room, hot and cold pool, and 90 mins massage inclusive of 01 habdjob.

During fasting month, last order is brought forward to 9pm, from the usual 11pm, so that cewek can knock off on time at 11pm.

The stores ready at around 4wib. By 5wib most delicious dishes like cumi, udang, urap.... would be gone.

Today afternoon I went Sunda got my big tulang and satay ++ for lunch and dinner.
Checked their rest days during Ramadan.
They said they closed on 1st day. After that HariRaya will close minimum 2 days.

Went batam from 20th to 22nd. 21st went bunga front entrance close but back door can enter.had abt 7 girls.only 1 caught my eye but she asked for 1.5mill rupiah no discount.So went to berry,girls selection was bad,not attractive,had to use back door entrance.in the end decided to go to Octupuss.My friend asked if the girls can take overnight.The mami said it will be x3 the price.For example silver package cost abt 746k ruppiah,gold for 900k ruppiah and platinum for 1mill.The overnight timing will be 11pm to 9am just multiply x3 of the package(3 shots) i would try this next time! Under normal circumstances,i will usually ask friends who are comfortable with a certain hotel which they used to stay before to stay there again if they havent been to Batam for a while. At least they already knew the surrounding well enough to start off.

The below photo by bro Ndnd, if you take a closer look,on the left hand side of the photo is Links KTV,which is a rather popular booking joint,and on the right hand side, is Allium Hotel. Hotel location quite good too,if your plan is for entertainment.

The only thing you can do is to throw away those defective thumb drives, and of course never go back to the same suppliers.

I had a similar "adventure". I bought a 10 Gb pen drive at a shop at Nagoya Hill, as I wanted to replace my old one. I bargained a good price. The brand was super reliable. Then, once I try it, after a while I realize that, while the capacity and storage reliability are ok, the read/drive speed of this new pen drive are about 1/4 of the old one. I threw it away, and I went back using my old one.

Moral of the story: if two apples look identical but one costs half price, beware that the cheaper may have a worm inside.

I read an article which says the following regarding joints closure:

Ramadan period start from 16 May to 14 June 2018

From my understanding, 3+3+3 massage/booking joints will be closed

The first 3 days refer to one day before ramadan began example (15 May), follow by Day 1 (16 May) & Day 2 (17 May) of ramadan.

The middle 3 days refer to Day 16 (31 May), Day 17 (1 June) & Day 18 (2 June)

The last 3 days refer to last day of ramadan (14 June), first day after ramadan (15 June) & second day after ramadan (16 June)
