...Tiger Airways, predictably, has fallen way short in service standards and I have been trying to get through their call-centre hotline the entire morning without success. I bought mine for cheap but I don't reckon they'll charge me extra rates if I rescheduled to fly on a weekend or during peak periods, will they?
it has been done before....go to the Budget terminal counter (the same counter that issue charges for extra baggage load) & they would do it on the spot without a charge - since this is genuinely a case no one is at fault. It's easier than trying to call the 'lousy line'.
Go early, u may get chances to switch to your other preferred date(s):)... If the seats are taken u hv lesser choice..

aiyah, you lucky, loh....next week airport sure open.
me.... knn, flight is schedule for Friday, but have friend on tomorrow flight (actually today) and quite confident he will be there.......
agreed with you, all I want is the airport to be freed, who run the country is not mine problem. Their problem WILL continue, no matter who run now. Just have to accept that it is a way of their life........
btw, martial law is very likely...........
Don't worry bro.....they have to open the airport soon if not they will have a lot to lose....no export.....hopefully it will be soon enough before you fly!:)

looks like the situation in bkk is escalating from bad to worse ...
there will be more violence and bloodshed these few days ...
pro and anti-government protestors will crash ...
if the military do not step-in ... all hell will break loose ...
anyway ... it's orledi loose ... :D
all flights in and out of bkk is cancelled .. airport is closed today and i will not be surprised this will last till weekend ..
I wonder how's bro TonyStark in bkk ..... any updates ?
he is still washing himself in chaophaya river ...
he's not going to be in SG this weekend ... unless he swim all the way back from bkk to SG ... :D
Don't worry bro.....they have to open the airport soon if not they will have a lot to lose...
u think the government bother abt losing money now ...
they have orledi lost their future becoz of this incident ...
if they continue talking and dun take stem action now ..
it's going to get worse ... the grp will get bigger and more parties will get involve and it will get out of hands ...

It's close to the border and in recent years, violence has occurred over there as well. I am sure many brothers are aware of this but thought I post this just as a reminder warning to all brothers going to patpong.
Last night was there with my gal friend to bring her see ping pong show. Just as soon as we came down from the taxi, we were approached by a street tout saying ping pong show at B100 per person inclusive first drink.
I am always wary of touts and told him we are going to walk around first. But he kept on following us trying to pull us into one of the joints. I made the big mistake of following him into one.
We sat down and I confirmed with waitress and tout that it was B100 per person (which I doubt so in the first place). And they confirmed. They gave us 2 beers and we watched the show briefly. There were other tourist couples in the bar. Then I notice something amiss, one of the gals put a coke on our table without our asking.
Within 10 mins, I wanted out as the show was terrible and nowhere those I have seen before. Then came the bill. 2,900 bht! I was shocked and asked the manager why I was told it was B100 per person. Gave me a lot of bullshit about cover charge etc and that he never told us that it was B100 and the tout misrepresented them. The manager (though a lady) was very aggressive. I thought no point fighting over the amount and took the damage and left.
So beware. Never trust touts in Thailand who may come in the form of taximan, street touts (apparently, they falsely state the price and drag you into any joints to get a fee and then leave you to the mercy of the joint. They dont rep anybody or any joint exclusively) etc....
Smarter thing to do is to join one of those night tours and pay a price and let the tour guides do all the arrangements.
Bro sori to hear u got con.Patpong is one of my regular play ground since 2000.
Yes never follow any taxi or tout to any place they try to sell u.
I'm a full time resident in bkk now and chiong many palces and is still doing it despite being married n have an 8 mths old daugther.
Try to learn abit of basic phasa thai when u party in bkk.It helps alot.
Till today whenever I drop into patpong those tout will still to canvas me but after hearing me speak in thai say no need ( mai tong ) and they'll back off.
You actually had a choice not paying them the infated amount and ask them to follow u to the police post situated near the entrance of patpong.
If u need good information about bkk u can pm me and I'll assist u.
U can say I'm a half thai already :)

I hear some flights are landing now at U Tapao. It is a old Vietnam War airport that is not very used nowadays except for thai navy and airforce excercises and a few commercial flights ; mostly from Russia. Its facilities are very bare , looks and feels like Sembawang Airbase ; only one canteen operates there AND NOTHING ELSE!
For those going to for business in Bangkok , its about 2hr 30mins away. However for cheongster , its about 30mins from Pattaya. You might want to consider discovering Walking Street. For agogo lovers , Walking Street beats Cowboy , Patpong and Nana combined. Beer bars are 10 times of Patong's in Phuket. No G Clubs but I heard of a few opening up since my last trip in April. Only downside is lack of 'white skin' girls which everyone thinks is so important. They are still available but less in quantity.
If I had a choice , I'll fly to U Tapao EVERY SINGLE TIME INSTEAD OF Subvanrimbaineansfjfdjfdbfbjbdsajdhas Airport
Hope the above helps to ease your 'discomfort' in these trying times. :D

wah dun like tat leh, i also going to BKK during xmas but will be dropping by Pattaya after, wah if situation doesnt revert and the whole world go Pattaya then walking street would become squeezing street and probably ending up drinking and pcc in my hotel room alone:(:(:p

If u need good information about bkk u can pm me and I'll assist u.
U can say I'm a half thai already :)
Hi bro, if for reasons unseen, in February when I go, the Airport has opened, would it be better to stay at Sukhumvit or Chinatown or Ratchadapisek to avoid running into the PAD demonstrations? I am sure this PAD nuisance will haunt Thailand for a long time unless the army whore generals get off their lazy asses and do something right for a change then cocking up the country ever again. The Government house area where they always protest is in which area? Those 3 places mentioned, are far away from the protest sites?
thanks bro....

Forum here is share mah. Bros in need must help mah. I am sure other will help you and have helped me beofre so what goes around will come around ; like karma mah.........................
Anyway best for you is to land at U Tapao and enjoy Pattaya then Bangkok Airport reopen so you can take the flight from Bangkok. No need to waste another 2hr 30mins on the bus.
BTW , use Bell Bus Service if you want to go hotel-to-hotel. They will pick you up at Pattaya/Bangkok hotel doorstep and transfer at airport then to Bangkok/Pattaya hotel doorstep for only less than 300B! Contact numbers at the Pattaya thread

well, from the case of the queen going to the funeral of one of the PAD supporter who died, you can know who PAD backing is .

hi bro , the thai govt is not weak. They cannot do much if the army does not follow their orders. As for that top senile old man,the reason he did not speak up is bcos he is the MAIN culprit behind the pad bold show of defiant against the law.
Every thai knows it.He is afraid of losing power.Famous thai fortune teller predicted that there will be no rama 10.

What irony. Country's in anarchy with losses mounting is big time. Electronics industry alone losing bt1bil daily. Re-think on foreign investments.. Thailand is on the map for wrong reasons. On human front, 100,000 missed flights 1st 3 days, likely to triple 300,000 if no end to this fiasco.

his is indeed a very touchy issue. Most Thai will not want to discuss with a stranger foreigner. The whole thing started with Thakxin getting overly arrogant and powerful and gaining support from majority of the rural people. The King is old and who will be taking over? The "elites" felt threatened by the fast gaining populality of Thoxin and came up with a plan to over-throw him. Discrediting him and digging out records of his "corruptions" and abuse of "power" (which are prolly true btw but who isn't guilty in the history of Thailand?) to convince the people the overthrown is necessary. Finally came the 2006 coup. It was a "peaceful" coup by the millitary and they thought thats it for Thoxin's reign but who knows "the people" still elected Thoxin's "puppet", "The chef".
The "elites" were horrified and concluded the majority of "the people" are "navie" (aka stupid) and "easily suay with money" (which is kinda true since current "terrorist" group are paid to be there as well) and shouldn't be allowed to vote. Thus the continuous effort to discredit the "government" (aka PPP).
The present leaders of the "terrorist" group are no siants themselves. One was an ex-leader of "the turks" during the massacre of "students" now turned holy man and the other was an ex-Thoxin ally turned enemy because "bro won't help me become billionaire!". So why aren't the police and army doing anything about the present "terrorist situation"? One claimed "Oh! We shouldn't use violence against
"Oh! We shouldn't use violence against peaceful protestors!" while the other claimed "Oh! We don't interfere with polictics!" So who are the "elites"?
You go think about that.

puppet or no puppet, fear of losing power is one thing but allowing havoc to actually harm or cripple your own economy even at the expense of gaining power but yet without any ideal "elite" person to take over is another issue
even if tat guy is old and his son is a useless playboy bum (from wat i heard), then you cant blame those tat support the capable those tat actually help stimulate their economy. Initially Survarnabhumi Airport was supposed to re-open on 29th Nov 6pm onwards. Looking at the current situation. Fat hope! Sibei sian liao. Just want to go home.
Last night was watching CCTV 4 and the Chinese government is planning to use military planes to transport their citizens home.
What has the SG government done for its citizens? No sound no colour. Didn't even mention want to activate SAF's C-130 lorry plane to put to good use. KNN when Indonesia have riots, send money. Other countries have natural disasters they send money and manpower. Only want to hao lian to the world.
I'm going to call the Singapore Embassy in BKK to F them to activate SAF lorry planes if airport is not re-opened by tomorrow. KNN sibei disappointed. We serve the nation. This is how they take care of us. Even communist country take care of its citizens better. Pui!
This is the best SG government could do. Still want you to pay for SIA commercial flights. KNN. Pay And Pay!

MFA Spokesman's Comments in response to media queries on the situation in Bangkok
In response to media queries on whether arrangements were being made to move Singaporeans stranded in Bangkok as a result of the recent airport closures back to Singapore, the MFA Spokesman said:
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been coordinating closely with Singapore Airlines on the possibility of the Airline mounting additional flights.
The Ministry has worked with Singapore Airlines to arrange two special commercial flights from U-Tapao International Airport (near Pattaya, approximately 140 km from Bangkok) on 29 and 30 November 2008. These flights are planned to depart U Tapao at 1400 hrs and 1900hrs.
Singapore Airlines is also considering further flights next week if there is demand.
The Ministry also notes that SilkAir will be operating two additional flights tonight and again tomorrow afternoon from Phuket to assist those who have made their way there to return to Singapore.
Singaporeans who wish to travel via these special commercial flights should make their bookings with the Singapore Airlines Office in Bangkok at +66 2353 6000 or Singapore Airlines Reservations in Singapore at +65 6223 8888.
Separately, Tiger Airways will also be mounting weekend flights from Phuket to Singapore."

hi bro , the thai govt is not weak.
Rama 9 will be the last reigning king.
I dun post anything but after seeing so many bros comment muz say smething especially after I juz came back Mon... another day late I would b stuck.
Itz sad to see a revered monarch use his loyal subjects in such a way. But as any parents would, they will die-die protect their only son no matter how useless and corrupt he hiz.
Thaksin wants Thailand to become a republic so that means no more kings. The end to a 300 year (am I right on this?) dynasty is no small matter and the royals will do anything to maintain the status quo.
I don't think any party is useless here - be it the Palace, the army or the government. They are all seeing who will blink first.
I personally think the best solution is the King's youngest daughter takes over as shes as popular & respected as her Dad but Thai laws & tradition forbids women to rule. I just hope to have a peaceful outcome soon and so I can come nxt month to see my girlfrend!;)

Hi Bros
Haven't posted anything for quite a while n just logging in to see what our bros are writing about this PAD fiasco.
This whole incident hasn't affected me so far. Just helping 1-2 of my friends to get out of Thailand, incl. a foreign based Thai stewardess get back to her base aboard thru S'pore. Also, just heard one SQ friend stuck at the BKK Novotel airport hotel as their flight suay suay landed in BKK late Tues. They were told to be stay completed in their rooms. But I believe by now they should be evacuated. Will call back to check tomorrow.
But I am planning to fly from BKK to Dongguan on 10-14th Dec with 2 of my Thai friends. My little bro is gonna be a little bit pissed off of this deprivation & violation of little bro's rights, if this issue is not settled by then!
I hope (I may be wrong...so don't flame me) to see some reprieve on Father Day on 5th Dec.
Anyway, as sum bros have said, PAD has some very powerful invisible supporters. All Thais know who they are deep in their hearts but can’t really openly talk about it. If you know that, you will understand why the Govt or even the Army is not taking any action at all. But yes, like everyone else, I want this to end ASAP.

bro tony ... u missed home har ...
i thought u like to stay in bkk mah ...
In the past yes but not these days. Anyway I'm enjoying free accomodation and meals with compliments of the Thai government and most importantly the GOD OF THAILAND. THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROUSITY AND HOSPITALITY. Now I have more money to cheong. :D
Just returned from Hip Cafe. Three words. Waste of time. Same shit as the defunct Mirage Cafe. Pesky mamasan from 5 years ago hassled me again. Damn irritating. Me face black black and told her I'll call for her if I want girls. Girls are mid to late 20s. Nothing to shout about. Nothing for SYT lovers. After you've been to China KTVs. All else seems 'cannot make it'. :p
Place is not even half occupied for a Saturday night. Lots of Thai Ah Pas throwing money as usual. For a moment I was amused at the rate of garland hanging with THB100 notes attached. They maciam print money from high speed laser printers.
Was at Silom area earlier in the night. Same old shit. Went to JC Massage to lim kopi. Girls start from THB1900. At Patpong pesky sex show touts really takes the cake. Bunch of con artists. Feel like chaking them and tell them after chek bin bill got extra THB2000 added in then how? Haha. Had a beer at King's Castle 2. Nothing worthy to report from the Patpong ghetto.
These few days I'll be on super hostile mode. See which service provider will kena from me if they try to pull a fast one.
More FRs from me if the airport remains closed for longer periods. I cannot imagine to wait until 5th Dec.

Tension may worsen with pro-govt rally
By The Nation on Sunday
Published on November 30, 2008
PAD may try to seize seaports if airports takeover fails to force PM out of office
The political situation could become more tense today when government supporters stage a mammoth rally in Bangkok as the anti-government People's Alliance for Democracy protesters continue to hold hostage the city's two airports.
The pro-government Democratic Alliance Against Dictatorship said yesterday that it would hold a massive rally at the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration's Lan Kon Muang ground this afternoon with as many as 100,000 people expected to take part. The rally venue was scheduled for Sanam Luang but changed later.
Police yesterday increased their presence near Suvarnabhumi and Don Mueang airports, which were seized last week by PAD protesters, but made no attempt to disperse them.
Meanwhile the PAD yesterday mobilised more supporters from the provinces to join its rally in Bangkok.
The PAD may also try to seize seaports on the Eastern Seaboard if the takeover of the airports fails to force the premier out of office, Suthi Atchasai, a PAD leader from the East, told protesters at Suvarnabhumi yesterday.
Hundreds of PAD protesters managed to force a group of policemen manning a checkpoint on King Kaew Road, which leads to Suvarnabhumi Airport, to move out of the area. The protesters said the checkpoint was aimed at cutting off their supplies by preventing vehicles with food and drink from entering the protest site.
The pro-government DAAD said yesterday that its planned rally today was necessary as it was highly probable that three coalition parties, including the core People Power Party, would face dissolution when the Constitution Court ruled on the electoral-fraud cases later this week. The DAAD said it would have to deal with the PAD protesters by itself as police appeared to have taken no action against them.
Prime Minister Somchai Wongsa-wat yesterday said he was willing to talk with the PAD leaders but would not resign or dissolve the House of Representatives, as demanded by the protesters. "House dissolution and resignation must not be the conditions. This matter is for the political side to implement in accordance with the Constitution," Somchai said.
He also called on the protesters to end their takeover of the city's two airports, for the sake of the country.
"Takeover of an airport is wrong. It is a severe threat to the country's security. The world community's confidence in Thailand is gone. If the takeover continues, Thailand will become isolated. This incident has caused much damage to the country's image as well as its revenue," said the prime minister.
"[The PAD] says the government is causing damage to the country in order to remain in office. My question is: what has the government done to create that damage? And what about the seizure of airports? Is that not damage to the country?" Somchai said.
Somchai said he would remain in Chiang Mai but did not say where the next Cabinet meeting tomorrow would be held.
PAD co-leader Chamlong Sri-muang said early yesterday he was ready to talk with the prime minister but not in Chiang Mai, where Somchai has been staying for fear of a coup. Chamlong said the PAD leaders would talk to Somchai only in person, not on the phone. The PAD co-leader said he expected the ongoing turmoil to end before His Majesty the King's birthday on December 5.
The prime minister gave a national address last night, calling on citizens to do good deeds in honour of His Majesty the King ahead of his birthday

50 injured in explosion inside Government House
By The Nation
4 in serious condition, 3 more explosions heard at ASTV station and Don Mueang Airport
A grenade was launched into the Government House compound minutes late Saturday night, injuring 50 people.
The explosion occurred at 11:50 pm Saturday when the protesters were preparing to rest and leaders of the People's Alliance for the Democracy were about to stop the activities on the stage.
The bomb fell on the roof of a tent on the left side of the stage and fell onto the ground and exploded.
Kittichai Saisa-ard, chief of PAD guards, said 47 protesters were sent to the Ramathibodi Hospital, and four of them were severely injured. He said two other protesters were sent to Phra Mongkut Hospital and another to Vajira Hospital.
The bomb, believed by the PAD to be an M79 grenade, exploded just 200 metres away from the PAD's main stage inside the Government House. It was fired outside the rally ground from a similar direction of the recent attack at the site.
Suriyasai Katasila said guards saw a flash from the direction of the Benjamabophit Hospital so it was believed the grenade was launched from the direction.
PAD guards checked and concluded that the assailant fired the grenade from a building inside the Rajamangala Technology University.
Most of the injured were hit by shrapnel at their face and eyes. Most are women.
Four of the injured remained in the intensive care unit.
They were identified as Kanchana Muennoo, 27, Jitra Jintanatham, 57, Suphana, surname unknown and Pienjai, surname unknown. The four are women. Kanchana's left lung was torn by the bomb shrapnel and doctors had to resuscitate her.
A 60-year-old woman from Kanchanaburi recounted that she was sleeping and woken up with the explosion.
She saw her friends bleeding on their limps.
"The guards ordered us to lie low and I tried to crawl to safety. But I am not afraid. If it's not my time, I'll be all right," she added.
Two explosions were heard at ASTV station on Phra Arthit Road at 12:15 am Sunday morning, just around 20 minutes after the attack at Government House.
Witnesses also heard the gunfire lasting about 10 minutes. No injury was reported.
Later on at 3:55 am, a bomb exploded near a bunker made of tyres at the Don Mueang Airport.
The explosion occurred at the main entrance to the passenger terminal.
Before the explosion occurred, about 7 gunshots were heard from the direction of a warehouse deeper inside the airport compound.
No one was injured in the explosion.
The explosion prompted the PAD to resume its activities on the stage after the activities were ended at 2 am.

Don't be naive and believe the SG propaganda media machine. They are just too stingy to spend money to help SG citizens to get out.
A lot of Singaporeans are back to SG as they extra spent money to buy SIA one way ticket and fly out from airports like U-Tapao, Phuket, etc. Or some like Jetstar divert their flights to U-Tapao. U-Tapao is a hell hole now. Do you know how chaotic it is? It takes at least 3 hours to reach there (Chonburi). Unfortunately my airline doesn't divert to other airports. I don't want to waste money on this bullshit. I prefer to chill out with free accomodation/food and wait for this madness to clear.
I'd be very impressed if they can find me bathing in a massage parlour! F*ck the SG government man. Even Philippines have plans to repatriate their citizens via Chiang Mai FOC. Till now what has the SG government done for its citizens? No money no talk ok!?
Maybe this is a good chance for me to go missing and change my identity. :D

Hello bros,
Thank you for all the concern and nice funny comments. So touched....:)
I did depart on 29 night, not after a 3 hours delay at Changi Airport, arrive at 11pm (Thai cock from now) kenna hold for one hour in the air.... pilot said many aircraft taking off and we were 5th aricraft to land..

Finally walked out of the make shift terminal.... at 1.30am....
Outside the terminal, full of touts... for trips to Pattaya, Bangkok, etc...
I can understand why Tony wouldn't go to Utapoa.. place have no dignity, maught as well travel by road/train and be treated nicely... I would take that route back, if the airports are still closed.
Was approahed by touts, seeing me with 4 piecs of luggages..... hee hee me the only kotek with a golf bag going into a 'hell hole', as they say..... but I am prepared to enjoy ma.... so pai seh, everyone looking at a clown with a golf bag in the up side down messy Utapoa terminal...
Everything was jsut slow, but were moving, this old airfield had never seen such traffic..... planes were parked all over the dispersal, planes lining uo to take off, coaches waiting to load passengers to our plane... and only a few minibuses running around picking up the passengers to terminal.... but the Customs were quite cheerful, despite being tired. Had a small joke the lady stamping my passport, she say '30 days enough...' and goes smiling....
Finally I nego with a coach and paid 500baht into Bangkok, there after I took a taxi (150 baht) to my hotel.
The route to BKK, IS totally peacefully.... all the excitement in me gone.... sigh sigh... maybe someone is right here.... stupid heart like commando... looking for excitement all the time...
Arrived Hotel at 4.30.... checked in at 6am, save one more day.....
Slept a while, make calls to all biz contacts.... sian, meetings all cancelled... they tot I not crazy to come... hiaz...
Never mind went to pay golf and met one EX singaporean..... now after this short update.. I am goign to see him to talk nit noi biz... hee hee... not all that bad right..

A survey conducted by Abac Poll Research Center revealed that many Thai people were ashamed of the political turmoil and they preferred to stay politically neutral.
According to the poll, 76.5 per cent felt very embarrassed about the local political turbulence and the negative views of foreigners toward Thailand.
65.1 per cent said they would have less pride in the country, if the situation turns violent and intensifies. 92.3 per cent believed political problems can be solved by the justice system. 58.4 per cent said they will not take sides in politics.
Hmmmm I'm just wondering, why they dun survey on "someone" popularity? :D

I'm normally not politically-neutral, but in the face of the chaos we're witnessing in Thailand now, it's best to remain one.
All I want is to visit my girlfriend in Bangkok. I'm waiting for everything to die down so that normal people can go on living normal lives. I'm optimistic that the farce will at least end by December the 5th - you wouldn't want in-fighting to disrupt the biggest day in the Thai calendar year, would you? In any case, I'm sure the King will make some sort of statement of intent on the day of his birthday, and the airport occupation will end there.

i understand why you guys are upset with PAD because of the fact that your trip to BKK is affected. you guys feel that PAD and just thugs and criminals but maybe its time you have another perspective at what is going on here.
just think about the following points.
thai people love the king and it is absurb to suggest that the king is behind all these just to topple Thaksin and PPP.
why would the king be jealous of Thaksin? no matter what Thaksin does he will never be the king. The current monarch is the longest serving monarch ever and even the anti-PAD people will choose the thai king over Thaksin anytime.
if the king really wants Thaksin out he can come out openly to say it but so far he has remain above politics.
if Thaksin loves and respect the king then why does he wants to change Thailand to a republic?
i believe that all the high level positions in the army and police are appointed by the government but why are they still not helping Thaksin?
i know this is not the best solution the way PAD goes about doing their protest but i guess there is no other way to force out Thaksin and his cronies.

Your thinking is too simple. When power at stake , many people do strange things.
thai people love the king and it is absurb to suggest that the king is behind all these just to topple Thaksin and PPP. thaksin is what was thought as Bill Gates - evil and whats to control the world. He is a thread to the king.
why would the king be jealous of Thaksin? no matter what Thaksin does he will never be the king. The current monarch is the longest serving monarch ever and even the anti-PAD people will choose the thai king over Thaksin anytime. Thaksin will never be king but can be a puppet ruler
if the king really wants Thaksin out he can come out openly to say it but so far he has remain above politics. The king will not lower himself in the eyes of the people. The less he says , the more powerful the words will be when it comes. He is just picking his time
if Thaksin loves and respect the king then why does he wants to change Thailand to a republic? He can have the publi image that he loves the king but inside is a different story
i believe that all the high level positions in the army and police are appointed by the government but why are they still not helping Thaksin? Unlike Singapore , the depts does not work hand-in-hand. There's even turf wars between police and army ; between themselves as well as other units!
i know this is not the best solution the way PAD goes about doing their protest but i guess there is no other way to force out Thaksin and his cronies. sad but true. History will repeat itself. Expect similar events in 5 years time!

Wow, I didn't know you were that smart! I agree with you, Thailand needs political stronghold like PAD to get ride of cronies like Thaksin and current Prime Minister! I guess, everyone is waiting for Abhisit Vejjajiva to be their next Prime Minister! If he gets to be next Prime Minister, Thailand will have peace among differenct political parties. That's what i'm hoping near future because I will be retiring in Bangkok within 13 months!

U-Tapao is a hell hole now. Do you know how chaotic it is? It takes at least 3 hours to reach there (Chonburi).
U Tapao is actually a nice small quiet airport not designed to handle so many passengers so calling it a hell hole under present situations is a little unfair! Its like Singapore's Changi and Budget Airport kena closed down and all flights diverted to Sembawang Air Base.
I flew in once and the pace was very thai-like. Relaxed with no lines at customs or baggage claim. Best part was that it took me only about 45mins (from touchdown) before I had a beer at my then favorite agogo - Peppermint!
I don't want to waste money on this bullshit. I prefer to chill out with free accomodation/food and wait for this madness to clear.
I would do the same. Shame coz if I had known , I'll have taken a flight into the country just before the demostrations!
Ahtecklim,
Wow, I didn't know you were that smart!
First time in my life anyone called me smart! Even in school , never kena called smart! THANK YOU but like i said before , I'm a lover not a fighter nor ever a thinker. Rather have beer kill my brain cells than too mutt thinking!
FYI , I'm smart only coz we agree. I'm most probably a dumbass to someone else! :)

Stranded foreigners can receive free medical treatment
Stranded foreign tourists or businessmen can receive free medical treatment at either state or private hospitals in Thailand, according to the Public Health Ministry.
"We will pay for that," the ministry's secretary general Dr Prat Boonyawongvirot said Monday.
According to him, if the foreign tourists and businessmen fall ill while waiting for a flight back home, they are entitled to free medical treatment.
"We are very concerned about the stranded visitors," Prat said.

"First priority of the work is to clean all the passengers' buildings and to remove tones of garbages from the areas," he said.

The services resumed at 9am.

Surnavarbhumi is expected to open within the next 24 hour, sorry, This one I no go there to see.... Air Hong Kong Cargo landed last night, so it means the Air Operations acn take in flights anytime
First flights out resumed today 3/12, possibly with backlog of those stranded:
THAI and other airliners resume flights - Nationmultimedia.com (http://www.nationmultimedia.com/topstory/read.php?newsid=30090113)
Saw some budget airline webbies here indicating flights available for booking sg/bkk from 5/12.
Whilst on the topic flights, Swissair had a good deal nett $300 for 22/12 (return 30/12), competitive with budget. Only catch is only 1 daily flight, and late arrival at that. Closer to xmas for departures from 23, prices really get steep or unavailable seats for cattle class

Why go for Tigerairways...seats r small, service suckz and pricing more than airasia and u can get to use the facilities in Terminal 1 while waiting for the flight unlike Tiger got nuttin...
if u book 22~30/Dec only $266 for Airasia...

Ask for Khun Fah at Carribbean club and I think the club should be slashing prices now ... she's pretty friendly and not pushy ...tell her what you like and she will try to fulfill your desires . As always, the dancers are hot

Yes, I confirm it is perfectly safe in Thailand. The only thing is that petty thefts such as burglary have risen. My Thai friend’s home has recently been broken into and a Thai newspaper article confirmed the findings. But this is mainly due to the global economic downturn. Just keep a close watch on your wallet just in case.
I was supposed to fly to Dongguan from BKK on the 11th Dec but postponed it in favor of a trip to Vientiane next week as I got a 16-year-old SYT waiting for me there. Might still be in Dongguan towards end of this year. Gotta use my ticket, right?
Anyway BKK airport seems to be on track to safe from PAD for quite some time. Abhisit seems to 70% sure to be the next PM now with Newin’s support. Once a loyal Taksin guy, I think Taksin is quite pissed off with him defecting to Abhisit but Puea Thai is still trying to fight back with $$$ to win over more MPs but I think that “invisible force” behind PAD has spoken. Even ex-wife of Taksin couldn’t persuade Newin with all its money. Taksin even tried to call him himself but failed.
So BKK airport will be safe from PAD for a while with this Abhisit unless Taksin goes crazy and mobilise his “red-shirts” to do a PAD, then we are fxxked again.

You know the Caribbean Club? Ask for a dancer named Kwan. Give her this.. $$$. She's gonna give you a package.

I think your statement is baseless. Don't think they would slash prices. Majority of the clientele is still Thai.

SYT = Sweet Young Thing. And she has a older sister who is 18 years old. To be frank, my Thai and Lao friends are convincing me to take the 16 yrs but I have some thoughts and ethically prefer her sister.
Perhaps, I will like to seek advise from all brudders on this. My Laos friend is quite rich & influential there and he says in Laos, 16 yrs old are already Manasan. He used the phrase "Dek kai dek", meaning children sell children. I have been to Laos a few times and so far, I keep to the age limit. But this time, I am pulled into this trip with some hardcore Thai friends. I am the youngest of the group and I can't be the one with "oldest chick", right? Those Thais and Laos guys will surely be laughing at me. So what's the advise?
So far I have only seen the picture of that girl. To be honest, she is a gem...that's why the temptation. Anyway, for the rest of my gang, they have already made arrangements with gals 16 or younger (never heard them talking about anything being 17, except that sister). I will try to take some pictures and share with you guys once I am back.

What are "mosquito squadrons"?
It is basically mafia run undergaround prostitute dens offering underaged girls. Had a Thai friend that actaully visited it. He heard it from me..... those operators target ASIANs visitors (mainly regular visitors)... maybe we have bad reputation for wanting young gals...... which still prevail today!
My friend visited this 'Mosquito squandron' on the out skirt of a city...... he was greeted by a man with a hand held gun in his waist. Scared the shit out of my friend.... so he hav no choice but to play along... went into a make shift room, then come a 12 year old gal... my friend's heart sank and he told me he cried internally. Didn't do anything to the gal and stay till time up.... gal was scared, afraid that my friend would tell the operator that he didn't have sex..... btw, there were cane marks on her back..... front were all looking OK... the rest is up to bro to imagine..... this have stayed in my mind forever.... fucked those bastards....
I am sure my friend did something! He is connected to some Thai authorities..
Since then I never heard anymore of such 'squandrons'..
Hope this explained.......
maybe I visited Thai one trip more than my sadomaster... hee hee......
enjoy with a concious....

Tarawadee,
Thanks for the definition! During my first trip to Bangkok (1996), I did barfine a 16 years old gogo dancer from Kings Castle and she was experienced in many ways. I don't think your a pedophile so my advice is go for it but be nice and give her lots of money. She must be from a poor family and if she doesn't go for you, other people will take advantage of her! Moreover, I've met another girl in Camelot gogo (1998)and this girl was 14 years old and she's been working for 2 years. She was very popular with Japanese but I only bought her drinks and tipped her, she was too young. I was nice to her and she once told me she would give me a freebie because I was nice to her but I declined. She is from very poor family and she was the bread winner of the family. But eventually Camelot go busted from police and they had to shut down for 90 days!
It's sad but life goes on in Southeast Asia, so don't worry, in my opinion, you're not a pedophile!

Hello,
Kool your jets, gentlemen, relax and enjoy your life to the fullest, you don't know when you're going to die! Sense of humor is the biggest assets women look for in a man!
"It's good to be king just for a while visiting Bangkok, be there as a philanthropist and make all the girls smile, it's good to get high and never come down, it's good to be king of your own little town, it's good to be king and have your own way it helps to make friends, it's good to meet girls, sweet little queen who can't run away cause they're too poor"...
Now I hope you'll understand
If you don't understand, change king to rich and read once more! And if you still don't understand, you're stupid!
