Re: BKK Night Market
Actually besides Suan lum Night Market, there are a couple of other nite markets which offer bargain buys for those who are interested in shopping.
1) Klong Tom Market - It's actually located near the Klong Tom Centre which is something similar to our Mustafa Centre. The nite market only opens on Fri and Sat nites, there's a lot of side street stores selling everything from new to 2nd hand where you can't get in Singapore. Normally open from 6pm onwards till late. The exact location is quite near to Chinatown but I forgot the name of the road so can just tell the taxi go to - TALAAT KLONG TOM
2) Tawana - This is the younger bro of chatuchak market, it's smaller in scale but offers a lot of clothes, shoes and accessories. You can get the similar stuff from chatuchak at the local price. It's located next to THE MALL BANGKAPI shopping centre where you do your shoppingas well It's open everyday from 6pm till abt 10pm. You must try the porridge from a cafe situated directlly opposite market and also there's another stall selling western food set which is cheap and delicious The only dowside is the distance which is quite far off from people staying in the central area. Recommended to take taxi directly from Ladphrao MRT station which will be nearer.
3) Saphaan Phuut -This is the truly local pasar malam which caters normally for the locals, lotsa of cheap stuffs including pirated cds and dvds. Dun forget to try the fried squid eggs which is a fantastic local delight. It's located also near chinatown it's open everyday from 6pm till late except on Wednesday reason being it's called Wednesday Bridge in thai so they might want to take their off day as a reference...just kidding!
4) Ratchayothin night market - this is the place to get some cool apparents with reasonable price. A lot of stores sell their own limted edition of design wear which you can't get anywhere in Bangkok. It's a mini size market which offers a lot more in terms of quality than the rest. Opens from 6pm till 10pm. Situated beside the Ratchayothin cineplex, the location is a bit out where you can only access by taxi via Ratchadapisek MRT station.
Hopefully the info above will be useful for all those bros who are keen to make a killing on the shopping field.......
