Just returned from two Batam trips. Apologies for the long post. To find anything of interest, the post proceeds like so: a rundown of Nagoya Entertainment District bars, followed by a couple of FRs.

NED area quiet, as workers returned home for Christmas and New Year. Not much has changed over the past 12 months.

Red Rose, New Place, Cock & Bull, Wallabies, Hot Spot are pubs geared toward Western food and not girls.

PP Banana remains the principal booking joint, with its stripper poles and tits-out dancers. The massage place is also a pay for play place.

Circle Bar the only new bar. Same owner as BB Bar, 4Play, BarFly, Chilli Bar. A former working girl from NED. Got money from generous/stupid client(s).

All other bars are for drinking and meeting girls. Freelancers - female customers - also frequent the bars before moving on to No Name, on the ground floor of Harmoni Hotel. FLs here may be girls with regular jobs. The line is indistinct. Other girls want to meet foreigners for a relationship, and they appreciate but don't necessarily expect cash money. I reach this conclusion from talking to 8+ girls and asking about them and asking about their friends.

Not much has changed in NED. D'Cents, with its karaoke, is popular with SGs and even Koreans/Japanese. Slainte remains popular with SGs, Indians, locals and Westerners. Asylum and D'Angels have disproportionately high numbers of Indian customers (not always, but somewhat often). Last Pub is popular with everyone. Westerners flock to Dirty Dicks/Fat Willys and Bar Fly and 4 Play.

I recommend what I recommended before: Chilli Bar. Downstairs, it's open-air. Upstairs, it has free karaoke. Upstairs is often not so busy. Take a group, get a bottle or two and you have a comfortable, cheap karaoke. Bringing booking girls is no problem at all anywhere in NED. Also, Slainte has its computer/sound system control in the front corner of the bar. Arranging your own playlist is okay. Bringing your own MP3s is okay.

A couple of changes that I noticed: many more SGs in NED, especially young SGs walking around looking lost.

Lastly, a food-drink place called Rachada, which is at the far end of NED, away from Harmoni. If you walk out of Lusy's Oarhouse and keeping walking in a straight line toward Panorama Hotel, Rachada will be on your right. I mention it because it has an open shopfront and looks chilled out, new and nice. I walked past it on at least 6 different days. It was empty, except for one day. Not a place for girls, though a couple of staff looked nice. A place for a relaxed few to start the night. It'd be a shame if it tanked.

If you're in NED, look out for the 80 year old Chinese man who visits almost everyday, chatting up the skirts and drinking a bottle. The man is a machine, retired from employment but not from enjoyment.

At the end of my second trip, I struck up a relationship of sorts, a Batam 'girlfriend' - you know what I mean. A girl from a clean pub.

I promised myself that I wouldn't do this any more, and that I wouldn't take one home. I get bored with them quickly: the same conversation with each girl etc. As actor Charlie Sheen said: I don't pay them to stay; I pay them to leave.

I don't know is it near Formosa and is it possible to walk there?
But usually I pay 40-50K for the Taxi to bring me there, regardless I'm staying at De Best, Nagoya, etc.

About 20-25 gals there, range 600K and above...
A pool table (20K/hour) in the hall & a decent karaoke system
A jug of beer at 120K onwards (they serve whisky too)
Have fun choosing...

I will share a secret (all those enlightened might up my points?): Memory is right in front of Panorama, which is at the intersection between Nagoya and Jodoh.
Wherever you are in Nagoya or Jodoh, raise your head and look for the Panorama big building. Walk towards there.
If you have no time, take ojek and not a taxi. Not worth paying 50k instead of 10k.
