Visited De Bottle last Saturday with a couple of my fellow Batam "PRs" and our OCs...

Not bad at all...!! Price was at 115k nett per pax with free flow beverages (San Miguel, San Miguel Lite & soft drinks only, all other drinks chargeable) from 6-8pm and buffet from 6-10pm..

Although the buffet spread was mediocre (selection not fantastic), the atmosphere was pretty good. Can see that this place is quite popular with Indo Chinese SYTs too... Spotted quite a few chio ones there..

All in all, very good value for money...!

Yes,it is indeed a big task. So i planned to start small and personal 1st...hehehe....we cheong in one particular place,we also need to fill our stomach.So the food place with good food around that "one particular" place will become very crucial to begin with.

Example only :

i am base in Formosa,i will start walking to find food after a good bonk. I walk over to Sinar Bulan Food court 10' Oclock of Formosa Hotel main entrance from a viewable distance of around less than 30m to have their Bak Kut Teh,or Ikan food or satay. But whats really good on my personal menu are their Ikan Ayam in this food court.

Btw,this is the back of the food court,food court is directly under Sinar Bulan Hotel.

2nd day ,i know i cannot eat Ikan Ayam everyday,so i walk over to Indo Rasa Food Court which is directly behind Relax Massage to have their Black Chicken Tonic soup with rice.Relax massage is directly opposite Formosa,one will need a pair of glasses if he/she cannot see it from the Hotel's main entrance. Anyway,i have a good bonk didnt i? I need to revitalise myself fast and strong,so Black Chicken tonic soup should do a fairly good job.

I guess i will start the summary of my 15th Trip to Batam from 14th to 16th April 2015.

Reaching Batam is as per usual in accordance to the Beginner Batam Guide written to help newbie,except in this trip,i wasnt issue the white card aka Arrival/Departure white card. The Horizon Fast Ferry (aka ex. Prima Ferries) staffs told me nowaday going to Batam no need to fill in the white card anymore. Well,its good news then.

Upon arrival,i didnt go collect my Return-back-to-Sillypore Boarding pass from Horizon Ferries counter at Harbour Bay becos i have not decide when i will return from Batam.My initial plan was to go another travel agent to buy hotel voucher instead of always going to Kaha but end up changing my mind becos i have not gathered enough information on the "other" travel agent yet,so this trip i still go to Kaha Travel to buy the voucher for a night stay at Gideon Hotel. After getting the voucher,i went to the Malay chicken rice store in my last trip for lunch 1st before checking in to room. Now i have better information on the store. The store is directly opposite the Penuin wet market building,just walk around outside wet market area and it can be seen.

Here's the chicken rice i ate,and it is by far one of the best Halal mix Hainanese Styled chicken rice i have ate in Batam (especially the yellowed colour rice):

Not very expensive good food that i like.

Move around the area a little and learn that directly opposite Gideon is A2 Food Court and diagonally 10 oclock is BCS mall and directly opposite BCS mall is the Zhen Bao Restaurant which i didnt visit due to timing not right. Zhen Bao has a 1 for 1 promotion between 8am to 12pm and 2pm to 5pm. Behind Gideon is coffeeshop and opposite is Mickey Mouse 66.

Checked in into one of my favourite Hotel,Gideon.Requested for a room with good wifi,end up my room given was being position just outside the lift. So i get to hear the elevator "Ding" sound everytime someone alight or get on the lift on the 2nd floor...lol. Not a hassle to me,thats why i didnt mention it previously,hehehe...as the room was technically sound proofed (i can still hears it softly if my TV is turned on/off tho). I admit,i have super-sonic ears...lol.

1st impression of Gideon,fantastic!

The receptionist was friendly (a man) and able to speak my language. Thats where i request for a room with strong wifi,and end up outside the lift...lol.They even show me to the lift after turning right from the below picture (very polite and well-mannered) :

After turning right,i saw the Massage Palor price banner which i also took a photo of it. My 1st impression,expensive!

Behind the banner is the lift that require my room card key to reach my floor.The lift is has a few buttons,B for basement (i guess),they called the Lobby the 1st floor,the 2nd floor as 1st floor,where the Massage Parlor is and the 3rd floor a 2nd floor. So technically my room was on the 3rd floor in Sillypore term.

The room also requires my room card key scan the room door to unlock and to power up the lightings,TV etc. i check the toilet flush,taps,lights and air con,all in working condition except the tap which was flushing out brownish water for the 1st few secs upon turned on. Tested their wifi ,its good. The bed super good! Room is clean as new. And i move over to open the window curtain and got a shock. Sorry,i didnt take a photo of it. Al i know is i can walk over to the next building which is still under construction in one step from my room window. Close the curtain,turn on the TV...its a cool 42' LCD TV...its a good TV,but when i try to check the back of the TV for HDMI port as previous mention in the past posts in this thread,i realise i was unable to do so unless i take down the 43' LCD which was mounted on the room wall. So in this incident,no one will know if there is a HDMI port behind the TV and even if there is,no one can use it w/o dismounting it from the wall,hehehe....and what happen after plugging into the HDMI will be to leave the 43' LCD TV on the floor rather than remounting it back on the wall.

What a silly design. Maybe its design to deter guest like me,hehehe...

Overall,the room is quite alrght...

Note : there is no flowers and fruits in the room hor

It was about 1040pm Indo time when i was brushing my teeth,then did i see the below glass :

The water was taken from the tap inside my room at Gideon Hotel. Honestly,i got a shock and immediately took down a pic of the water in the glass i used to brush my teeth and post in in this thread. Now,what you guys seen is only part 1 of the water...let me show you part 2.

After the glass of tap water was left stationary for about 30secs,it becomes like the below picture :

Look carefully at the bottom part of the glass

Its the same glass of water i took from the tap but after around 30 secs,the whitish milk-like colour begin to clear up...and slowly turn it into crystal clear water. So,the water is actually not dirty. In fact i believe they added TOO MUCH chemical to clean the water (could be chlorine or fluoride or maybe more). Just remember,when you boil such water (water in Batam regardless which hotel),the boiling kills the germs and bacteria,but boiling do not remove the chemical and solid particles which cannot be seen by naked eyes inside the water. Do not drink from the tap,even after boiling.

After checking my room,i move off to change money at the money changer opposite formosa at 9500/SGD on 14th April 2015 (15th April 2015 was not as good) before heading to joint. I check out Orchid,Gold Bird,Permata Indah,New berry and MM. In the end pick a girl from New Berry and request for them to send it to my room by 530pm.

Afterwhich I head over to Lucky Plaza to buy my "money making" tools and at the same time check out the Indosat Mentari Internet surfing SIM card at 50k,top up another 25k + 2k (admin charge) to test the internet sim card speed.

And it also comes with 25mins local talk time if i dont remeber wrong.I top up a little money becos i kiasu,anyway only S$2.63 more and this sim card will last 3 months,hehehe...and i can always top it up again. My main purpose was to have a Sim Card solely for surfing net in the event if i need to use google translate to "talk to" my girl when i am out of hotel,hehehe...not a bad idea,huh? S$8.10 (can be S$5.27)to help me communicate,kind of worth it. Anyway,i am at experimental stage currently.

Early morning wake up very early for breakfast while girl continue to sleep. Told them i will come in later as most of my stuffs were still at Gideon.

Head back to Gideon,the booking girl woke up and was asking if she could go to the FREE sauna and steam room,i say ok and we both head there only to realise that they dont supply towel and have to use our own towel from the hotel. I think in my this April 2015 Trip to Batam,Princess Massage is the MOST commendable one. In all my trips to Batam,i finally get to have a taste what the Legendary Piano Massage is all about...lol. But thats not the reason why its commendable,it is becos even at the stage of doing piano massage,it is still considerably a hard massage. Meaning this girl that massage for me has good finger strength but she just quickly do the massage in 30 mins w/o hitting any right spot and later pop the GQ. Also,in all the MP from Ocean to PAS,to Justmine and to Indo Rasa,this Princess massage girl is the most beautiful of them all. This trip basically already known to me that it will not to be as good as my last one. I even have the temptation to extend another night but later change my mind. Overall rating for this trip is 6/10. Not a good trip,but it isnt a bad one either. I guess thats becos i choose to try new hotel,put more focus on Massage places as my boss keep calling me from Sillypore to Batam to disturb me...lol.

We all have seen this Rhino drink in bottle form in Sillypore,but look at Can Size one beside those bottle version. It is as tall as a 5kg rice pack,about 1 feet tall. And its on offer at 44k rupiah for 4 Cans...lol...i was so tempted to buy them back to Sillypore but eventually didnt becos its gonna be very very heavy.I took those photo from BCS mall supermarket.
