Amy adjusted her dress after lunch, knowing that in 5 mins time, at 230pm, she will have her 'review' with her boss. It's been only a couple of days at her first job and in a foreign land, but already, she has learned a lot, at work and at play.
She had worn a tight 1 piece dress, heels and touched up her makeup. At te same time, she kept thinking of her mother and how much she misses her. Soon enough, it was 230 and she hurriedly brushed to the operations room. For some reason, Teck Phuat has ordered her to have her review there, instead of the office. "Come Amy, have a seat." Teck Phuat said. He has prepared a table with 3 chairs and a sofa chair for Amy. Ravi and Jamal were present also. Amy was nervous, as she didn't expect to be reviewed by the 3 men. "Amy, I've asked Ravi and Jamal to sit in also so that they can give you your feedback on your performances so far. But before they do so, I will comment on your performances." Teck Phuat said. "You nearly lost $1m for the company!" Teck Phuat suddenly said, throwing some of the financial statements to Amy. Amy was suddenly wide awake, scared. "How can you make such accounting errors! Lucky I got check before I do my submission for the accounting. You are good for nothing! Nearly make me bankrupt!" He shouted 2 days before, Teck Phuat rigged some figures on the statements to purposely show a loss making data. Just for this purpose. "Ya, you also do the manpower scheduling so jialat, my men almost got no work." Ravi suddenly added. Amy got real scared. All she could do was to look down on the floor. She was close to tears but she could not say anything back. "And that time you anyhow shifted my operations thing, it took me a long time to find what I need. Ah Phuat, why do you hire this girl? Make out lives difficult only." Jamal said. "Ya, should just sack her. Send her back to her kampong." Ravi added. "No!" Amy retorted. "Please don't send me back." She said, as a tear rolled down her cheek. "Then? Keep you here and lose more money?" Teck Phuat said. "Please don't send me back." Amy knew that my going back, she would have shamed her mother and lost te opportunity to make extra income for her family. "I'm sorry." Was all that he could muttered. "Sorry? Sorry can make back the money meh?" Teck Phuat said. "I'll do anything, just don't sen me back." She said, whimpering. On hearing that, the 3 men looked at each other and smiled. "Amy ah, this is Singapore. Not easy to make money you know. We all work so hard to bring the company up, then you bring us down? I heart pain leh. We all also heart pain. You understand anot?" Teck Phuat added further. "What can you do for us?" Ravi asked. Amy just kept quiet. She didn't know what to answer. "Ah Phuat, don't waste time lah. Just fire her." Jamal said. "No no, please don't. Tell me anything and I'll do it for you." Amy retorted immediately. "Ok ok. I don't know what else to say to you. You make wrong thing, you must be punished. You agree?" Teck Phuat said. Amy nodded. "Fine. You see that lorry over there?" Teck Phuat said, pointing to the back of the lorry, which was opened. "Go there and wait for me to come back. I will discuss what punishment to give you" he said. Amy wiped off the tears from her cheek and quickly walked over to the van. She climbed onboard the cargo portion, to find a mattress laid out in the centre. The aircon was also turned on, for some reason. With nowhere else to sit, she sat herself down on the mattress facing the wall. Amy was still scared about the mistakes that she did, though she felt that she has done everything she can to give her best at work. She was left alone to reflect on her wrongdoings and for five minutes, she felt angry at herself and sorry for her employers. Teck Phuat had given her everything that a young kampong girl can have: a good job, a good company and colleagues. "Ok Amy, we have decided." Teck Phuat said as he, Jamal and Ravi climbed on board. Amy turned around and looked up all 3 men. She felt helpless, all she could do was just to give them the puppy eyes. "Amy, you made a lot of mistakes. Now you will get your punishment. You must do everything that we say, without question, or else I will fire you and send you back to your kampong. Agree?" Teck Phuat said. "Yyyy.. Yyees.." Amy said. "Ok good. Now stand up." He ordered. She stood up, her chest heaving. "Take off your clothes." Teck Phuat ordered. Tbc
