If i become Malaysia's prime minister, i guarantee that Malaysia will become the safest country in Asia. Hehehehehe, all this Mat Rempit will be rotan 25 times and rapist will be put in jail for life (waited to be sodomised by others)
The only way to control mat rempits is to do a motor cycle ban like CHina. But i dun think an elected govt can do it. Hence the difference in CHina.
It will always be tough in Malaysia, and if you are chinese, you will never lead the country anyway, so its just fantasy...

As for police, well, training and attitude (and compensation of course. Cant expect someone to risk their life for the country for 300SGD a month)

You guys can do it in Singapore but certainly not here.

we dont have illegal immigratants problems in china, which is 10 times bigger than mudland.

the problem is the government and not the coastline.

u can be the biggest country in the world and that does not mean u can not control crimes effectively.

the car-jackings, rapes etc are all done by malays and indians. chinese are doing all the other criminals stuff like selling drugs etc

Anyway, brother, if you are in JB, please take extra precaution when you are driving. Especially, if you are driving with your gf in car and late at night.
The increase in policemen in johor is worse. last time i used to pay RM 50 bribes once a month.. nowadays i pay 3 times a month.

Lets all not be racist. I should think that ultimately the focus will be on what actions are taken by the MY government to combat the crime rates. I have read that the government have sent down a task force from KL just to concentrate on the situation in JB and hopefully there will be results.

I would agree that Singaporeans still flock to JB esp during weekends for shopping and entertainment but if the situation worsen, even die-hard JB fans will think twice.

It would be very hard to monitor the MY coastline but maybe the police can actually increase more patrols with the authority to check for identification of anyone they feel is a suspect. With increased checks, illegal immigrants will hesitate to venture freely in public.

JB used to be a major hub for the chinese triads till now but IMHO, these people mainly concentrate on prostitution, gambling and selling pirated DVDs. So far, there has been very little news on chinese criminals going around raping or robbing innocent citizens. News that has filtered to the general public regularly states that the crimes are being committed by other races.

However these opinions are based on what we read in the newspaper. In the recent case where the Singaporean was slashed with a parang before his car was stolen, there was no indication of what nationality committed the offence. Chinese related criminal activities have also recently been hit very hard by the MY government and when people are desperate, they do desperate things, regardless of race.

I don't know why you are citing China when its borders are also porous. Take the border along North Korea, there are asylum seekers who make their way across the border.

It would be a big mistake if you would only look out for Malays and Indians robbers and carjackers when you are in JB.

My apologies if you feel that I am pointing fingers at anyone. It was just a general statement.

As you can see to my previous statement to Orgasmic, I believe the main aim of this thread is just to warn fellow bros about the situation in MY and not just in JB.

Btw I totally agree with your above statement.

Well, the China govt has been known to send them straight back to North Korea.

And when was the last time the Malaysian Govt prosecuted a leading member of Umno, or its BN component parties for corruption and shot the guy ?

Dun compare China la. They investigate and sack and punish more than a few thousand of their communist party members every year.

The problem in Malaysia is the Govt, but indirectly. Their policy of spoon feeding their own people have left them lazy to do anything other than earn easy money. So its easy for crime organisations to buy their influence. Chinese criminals are smarter as they know that the Govt would love nothing more that create lots of publicity by nailing Chinese Criminals.

So while its not impossible to find petty crimes committed by Chinese, its highly improbable.

When was the last time a Chinese got arrested for Raping their own kids ? Or for rape in general ? Or breaking and entering to steal a hundred bucks ??? The statistics by Race are never made available in public has it ?

Re: Please be careful - Daylight Robbery

Most of the employer in Malaysia are chinese, especially in private sector. They are reluctant to hire Indian or Malay as their employee. Thus, it makes them fail to get a proper job and in order to survive they have limited choice but to rob, steal or snatch.....
Just my opinion...

Re: Please be careful - Daylight Robbery

GD_Paradise,

I think this has gone beyond what was the original intention of this thread. I don't see any point in debating in here the social problems (and the possible causes) in Malaysia. It has been debated till no end in more appropriate forums such as soc.culture.malaysia.

Orgasmic by only limiting criminals that commit carjackings, robberies and rapes to Malays and Indians while disregarding Chinese criminals is doing racial profiling. While the latter may make up only a small number of the criminals out there, it would be a big mistake to use such racial profiling when you are in Malaysia.

You want to let your guard down just because those approaching/confronting you are Chinese, go ahead. Ask any Malaysian and see if they do likewise.

I support your view-point, it is an alarming trend these days amongst Chinese employers that are reluctant to hire local Malays and Indians [if they have a choice], well it is a trend and whether it is part of a lame excuse in employing cheap labour, it is not well researched, but....racial profiling has taken hold and has taken its toll. Thus, those who are jobless [and comparatively with larger family to feed] will be desparate enough to commit crime. As I have pointed out earlier, "rape" could be an outward demonstartion of an internal hatred against a certain race.

Anyway we can't compare malaysia with China, as China has its own "very stringent" laws, they even execute those who had neglected thier duties as a public servant [so to say, if Malaysia were to adopt such laws, well, many from the public sector will be executed for sloppy work ...such as leaking parliament ceiling, falling off ceiling boards...flooding....and the list goes on]

Indian gang goes on rampage again ...........

Another example of lawlessness in Malaysia Boleh .............

Report from The STAR dated Tuesday 28 August 2007 :-

Indian gang goes on rampage again

SHAH ALAM : A gang of Indian youths went on a rampage in Section 20 on Sunday barely two weeks of a similar incident in Section 17.

This time the group attacked two houses, damaged two cars at the first home before going to another house just a street away and wrecking another car there.

V. Kaliamma, 46, said she home with her three sons and daughter when the sound of the smashing glass and banging of metal at around 2.30am woke them from their sleep.

“We went to the front door and saw a group of youths hitting the two cars belonging to my sons with parangs, sticks and bricks,” she said, adding that the cars had been parked at the side of the road outside the house.

She said they smashed all the windscreens and windows or the car and there were also cut marks on the body of the car where it was hit with the parang. She said the youths, believed to be in their late teens or early 20s, then climbed over the driveway gate and hit the glass panel of the sliding door and the grille.

“They (the youths) kept asking why we had reported them to the police and I told them that we have never lodged any reports against them as we do not know who they are but they kept on hitting on the grille,” she said.

Kaliamma said although the attack only lasted for about 15mins, the family was scared for their lives and kept away from the sliding door. She said the attack only stopped when the neighbours started to turn on their lights to check what was happening.

Housewife S. Poopathy’s home, located a street away, became the next target for the youths, who started to smash her son’s car that had been parked along the road.

She said the youths not only hit the car but also climbed on its roof and started to jump on it before ripping out the car stereo, speakers and other accessories. Kaliamma said the youths then climbed over the wall and started to hit the inner grille and main door.

“They somehow managed to open the main door but my son and I quickly held the door and forced it shut again. I was afraid that they might enter the house and hurt my children,” she said.

She said the acts made the youths angrier and they then started to break all the glass window panels.

Her son, T. Ganesan, 23, said this was not the first time that a group of youths had damaged his car as some youths had rammed their car into his about a month ago.

“We are lucky that no one was hurt in the incident and my other brother was away so his car was not damaged,” he said.

Shah Alam CID Chief DSP Kamarudin Ismail said police had started investigating the matter after the incident two weeks ago and picked-up several youths in connection with it.

“We look at this matter very serious because people are being terrorised in their homes and we will make another round of arrests to investigate the recent case,” he said.

He said police had identified two Indian gangs that were active in the Section 17 and 20 areas and would act soon to pick up those responsible. He said police were also investigating if the Indian youths were linked to any Indian gangs.

Re: Please be careful - Daylight Robbery

I think u are quite flawed in your argument to blame the Chinese for controlling the economic pie and therefore not giving jobs to the indians or malays.

The indians in Malaysia has not so much of a problem than the Malays.

And I would like to insert a valuable point here that the Malaysia government employs Malays and about 90% of the civil servants are Malays. Therefore, it is not fair to say that the malays will commit crimes because nobody want to employ them.

There are 60% malay in malaysia but 90% in the civil service.

But please see how the civil service cock up.

Custom, Police, armies, putrajaya servants.. toll servants.. pray tell me, which one of them never take bribe?

The problem here is definitely not the Chinese. Look at 13 May 97 in Indonesia, 4000 girls ( all chinese ) were gang-raped and killed. Some as young as 8 year old.

How can an 8 year old girl offend the malays?

And the lame reason by the rapists given was that: Because they were Chinese, therefore, we had to rape and kill them.

Tell me, whose fault and who started it?

Thailand south is a damn peaceful buddhist country who never even joined into World War 2. And because of one particular race in the south, the country is having violent problem.

Whose fault?

While it is easy to always blame other race for your own lack of wealth, i dont think it is fair to blame another race for being poor when u are lazy yourself.
