When people talked about going to Bintan, they usually are refering to Lagoi where all the resorts are located. And when they say that they are going to Tanjung Pinang, they mean the Tanjung Pinang which most know, where people go mainly to kio kway wan.
Now, Bintan is actually the name of the island, Lagoi is in the middle and Tanjung Pinang is at the end of Bintan. Over at the other end of Bintan is Tanjung Uban, which is nearer to Batam with a 15mins speed boat ride away.
But best of all is still Batam cos the Man is here.

Curiously to ask cheonger, during World Cup will your stay at home to watch soccer match or cheong oversea to look for cewek cum watching soccer match? Four year back, during World Cup my friends said if go oversea most of the cheonger & their cewek prefer to stay at hotel and watch soccer match than going out to disco/pub. Izzit true.

Just to clarified your clarification, the restaurant beside IVH is a Sundarness and not Balinese restaurant.
It's call Batam Kuring, it's actually a very old Sundarness restaurant. And if you really like that type of food (Sudarness), there's a newer and nicer one in Pelita, sorry can't remember the name but it's near Merlin hotel.

I got an old funny story to tell here.
Few years ago when the old Ozon (on the hill top behind Studio 21) was still in operation, I was there 1 nite during the World Cup period. They put up a big screen in the disco hall telecasting live matches. As you know that most people, especially the locals, go to disco to shake heads. Imagine this, you see people shaking their heads left to right and right to left, for like every 5-10 seconds stopping for 1 second to glance at the screen to so call watch the game, then going back left right right left till whenever there's a near goal situation, they will stop shaking completely shouting goal goal goal...... and if the shot went wild, they instantly carry on with their left right right left again......

last time i stayed at IVH on lonely silent MOB, went to OKI ta pao crab and prawn back to room watch EPL on saturday night.....took ojek, knn, that blur feck ojek driver rode me to Island Garden......when i reached the room in IVH, the food becum "Cold Hai" liao.....have to pay some tips to get the food heat up in their microwave.....
