Re: Angeles City (Balibago) Tips

Dunno what happened to me on the last trip.

Got tired of eatin pinay food by 4th day.

was desperately seekin out curry.

I ate the adobo with loads of chilli. Then i had the pinoy chicken curry with loads of chilly padi.

Still. . . Nothing beats authentic curry.

Lucky for me my country cousin Emericos was around.

veri much agree with you on the braised duck feet in shanghai..lots of good street food..braised duck neck and tongue also good must say i've seen the famous Filipino egg speciality being sold during my trips to AC but no guts to try. Weak stomach..but the orange juice (well at least to me its orange juice) tat a few guys peedle on their bikes is quite good. Reminds me of the green-skin orange juice i had in bkk

Are we talking about the same Golden Nile?

GN's EWR has always been 4000p even before the raids...... unless you want to EWR the waitresses which may be @ 1500 - 2000p but I'm not sure about that.

4000 peso? Golden Nile is the one next to cambodia and blue nile one rite? I though 4000 peso is for dancers or something? The normal girl is 2000 peso. My last trip is Nov 2010 though. Don't tell me inflation is SO HIGH now that it double within half a year?

Airfares to/from Bkk

Looks like the AirAsia surprise promo early this week was a dud as it had no reasonable places with the cheap fares I hope for.

This may not be the best thread for this but maybe some will know.

Now just notice Tigers have reasonable fares for Sgn to BKK in Nov and Dec.
Depart Sgn to BKK =$91 total and return about $71 or(1100b +700fee=1800b) total

I may venture to BKK for 1st time instead of my standard AC/Manila hangouts.

Do you guys think those are good fares for travel in Nov (my next time off from work) or should I wait as cheaper fares will come up before my Nov departure.
If they are good then I'll book and not miss out but will hold off if you guys think fares will be cheaper. Not sure how often Tigers or AirAsia have cheap or free seat deals to and from BKK.
Thanks

Ha, hey Lord, Glad to hear it didn't long and all it required was a cheap air tix to snap you out of the fear of visiting AC due to the previous raids.
Also nice to hear things are getting back to normal and everyone having a good time.

Cheers

Super Bug found

Ok, didn't want to be the bearer of bad news but for those that enjoy bonking raw, here is something you should know as its serious and deadly with no cure. Just found this on the latest CDC news. So be careful guys.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
A new “super bug” of gonorrhea has been discovered in Japan that is resistant to all available antibiotics, a development that is both alarming and predictable, researchers said Monday.

The super bug, dubbed H041, has evolved to outwit cephalosporins, the last class of antibiotics generally effective against gonorrhea. The new bug has not yet been reported in the United States.

“Since antibiotics became the standard treatment for gonorrhea in the 1940s, this bacterium has shown a remarkable capacity to develop resistance mechanisms to all drugs introduced to control it,” Dr. Magnus Unemo, of the Swedish Reference Laboratory for Pathogenic Neisseria, said in a statement.

The discovery was announced at the 19th conference for the International Society for Sexually Transmitted Disease Research in Quebec City, Canada.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has repeatedly sounded alarms about the increasing difficulty of successfully treating gonococcal infections with available antibiotics and announced the need to monitor antibiotic resistance and develop new treatment regimes.

Now that you mention it, the food at Hap Chan did seem a bit too sweet but overall it was very traditional Chinese food that's good in Manila.

I normally had mine at the one opposite Robinson Mall Malate. Taste pretty ok. Their porridge is good for the local standard. Ya the problem with filipino is they either like it too sweet, too sour or too salty.

My pinay gf don't like chinese food cause she say there is no or bland taste and I tell her that her filipino food is too salty. The argument goes on and on and on never ending. hahaah

Thanks bro.

I take my words back.

even in food courts so salty

I will gladly stick with the garlic rice with longanisa / corned beef anytime in Ph. But then the real Filipino food I tried is mostly too salty or sour or oily. Most of them is not even for health conscience people. No wonder most filipina girls are fat due to the daily eating of lechon. hehehe
