Miss Lin walks up to me and said that she has made a wrong booking date. I am in a panic because the performance is one of the main highlight of the function. Albert walks up to me and asked what happened to the performance. I told him the truth and he went into a fury.

“What, you have booked the wrong date,” asked Albert. “No. I have told Miss Lin to confirm the booking for me but she makes a mistake,” I said. “No, Mr. Tan you have given me the wrong date,” Miss Lin said. I am surprised by the behavior of Miss Lin. I am stunned for a while. “How can you make such a mistake, you are the GM,” Albert being to raise his voice and the guests are alerted to our conversation.

“But…But I did tell Miss Lin about the change,” I replied. “Don’t defend yourself. If your staff makes a mistake, you should bear it as well.” shouted Albert. “I am sorry for the mistake I know it is my fault,” I said as I don’t want to argue with him. “I am very sorry Albert,” I replied. Albert continued to rant at me. Phrases like stupid, useless, pig have been used on me. All these under the watchful eyes of all the guests.

My heart sunk lower and lower. I want to hide but I can’t. I ask myself whether I should take all these insults and continue to endure all these for the years to come. Why does he have to treat me like that since I am his brother-in-law? I am in a dilemma. I really don know how long I can still take it. I can remember the wretched face of Miss Lin on that night. I tell myself to be patient and wait for my chance. I WILL STRIKE BACK AND PROVE TO EVERYONE.
