How come you needed a bodyguard in HCMC?: I can understand
the need for one if you're based in Cambodia.

Warning: the following is not a FR but just a sharing of my experience as a first-timer in Saigon.

Just came back from Saigon.
Had a very good impression of the local people.
Friendly lot.

Initially intimidated by the heavy motorcycle traffic.
How I wish I can cross roads the Viet way in Sillypore.
I would love it.

Unfortunately, Saigon does not have a straightforward red-light district system. Sure, there are SWs in Pham Ngu Lao but they are either old goats or ladyboys. Speaking of ladyboys, I am terribly impressed with their looks. They are so pretty that I am very tempted. Would not have known that they are ladyboys if their "papasans" never tout them on their bikes. For those interested, they are there night time at the park in front of New World Hotel (Pham Ngu Lao area).

I was there for 2 nights but only managed to hook up with a FL on the second night. Firstly, I bobo and dunno where to look. No such thing as fishtank over there. Went for a few massage but can only get HJ from one of them. However, GFE is very good. So it was ok for me since I am a sucker for GFE. There is a good massage joint at Luxury 4 hotel (Pham Ngu Lao). The gals are SYTs and may speak some english. Massage services are in general about 50k to 120k VND (S$5 to S$12) / hr, excluding tips and specials.

The main problem that I have is communication difficulty. The gals dun speak English that much and I cannot speak/understand Viet at all (always toi khong hieu i.e. I don't understand). Otherwise, I enjoyed the GFE a lot. Can always get handphone number from them and to arrange for them to service you at your hotel. However, my sianning skills no good. Can get number but cannot get them to go hotel. Language barrier. Secondly, cannot just tapau them straightaway. No such thing like a "bar fine". Have to wait for them to knock off which is 10/11+pm. Got a SYT for a HJ but she quoted $500k VND. Managed to reduce to $300k VND but the change in attitude was so drastic. She reluctantly agreed and mechanically finished the job.

Went to volcano, a disco. Wow, the place is blazing with energy and SYTs. Got a few FLs I think. An excellent place to hangout. Beers are relatively expensive (5x), $60k VND for a small bottle. You can get the same thing at $10k VND.

There are quite a number of gogo (chocho) bars with SYTs. But never tried. Should be able to tapau them with a bar fine. But have to buy them drinks (should be about $50k VND per ladydrink) first. They are there more to keep you accompanied. There are quite a few bars with Jap names, supposedly catering to japs, at the Thai Van Lung area, near the Continential Hotel.
Anyway, there are a few other such bars scattered all over D1.

Was extremely horny and while got a HJ on the first night, I really wanted to FJ. Hunted high and low until punctured. Then suddenly got approached. Was brought to a mini-hotel ($200k VND for 1 hr) and the stupid taxi driver wanted to cheat me of $100k VND for a short 5-min ride. Just threw him a $20k VND note and walked off. That is the problem with taxis which don't use meter. Always insist on using meter. And for a short ride, cannot exceed $20k VND.

The real sucker is not the taxi driver but the FL. Before we go hotel, she is all GFE and I tot chemistry would be good. However, all the while, never talk price although I keep prompting. She dropped a bombshell while in the room by quoting 1 million VND ie about $$90. I neg to $600k VND which is a lot more than I wanted to pay. I just wanted to pay $400k at most. The next thing, she asked for the money first. I LL had to take out the money and put it on the desk. After that, it was completely downhill. She suddenly turned dead fish and expected me to do all the work. Not even a BJ. The worst part is that she don't really let me touch her body. Somewhere, she switched off all the lights and I can't see a damn thing. I felt something wrong with her body, like she had a major operation at the stomach. I pumped her for a while, like humping a dead fish before stopping because didi went completely soft. Like giving her $600k for nothing. Dunno why I was so unlucky.

Almost never wake in time to go for my return flight if not for an incident. I sian this massage gal to send me off but did not expect her to really turn up at my hotel in the morning 6am. Got a call from the reception and got a shock. She is a plain jane but with GFE. Refused to go hotel during the massage but claimed that she will do so on my next trip to HCM. Anyway, I managed to wake up in time thanks to her (only slept about 3 hrs).

In total, I only slept for about 5 hrs during my 2 days' stay in Saigon. Spent most of the time walking and massage. It did not help that there was rain during the weekend.

The moral of the story is like what another bro had already mentioned. Saigon does not easily provide a quick fix. It is for those who have time to sian gals. The people are nice and things are relatively cheap, so it's quite a good place to stay. Also had a joy of saying Tam Biet (goodbye). It sounds so much like 大便, haha.

There was a report on another forum about a year ago about a restaurant on the north side of HCMC. No-hands like the ones in Bangkok and where the gals wear Aoi Dai without the pants. The guy who posted said he was taken there by locals and never found out where. We never saw much posting from him again either.

So we don't know whether this was a genuine report or not but the idea is enticing enough that I keep on looking.

Thanks for the warning. I have the same fear too, that's why I didn't go in. I am not much of a drinker anyway and I was alone. Thought I might not enjoy going in at all.

You are sure right about the Aoi Dai enhancing their figures. But I gotta say that during my week long stay here, I think the average lady's figure here is much higher than the other SEA countries I have been. Could be gotta do with the high level of fresh uncooked vege and rice noodles in their diet. Some of the women I see hanging out at Highland Cafe are to die for! Great figure, height, face, hair... everything!
