When ICA grant LTSVP (must be at least 6 months), they will enclose a letter of consent from MOM. You can check MOM website on the application of work permit for LTSVP.

Professional visit pass holders, eg. P1 and P2 passes [Earning above $3500] can apply SPR for ICA's consideration after working with the company for 6 mths.

I fully empathize with your frd's case. Why you can't is because the wife is entirely sponsored and supported by the local husband in ICA's perview. Since he's unable to support himself, he will not be able to support his immediate family members. ICA view in this way. Even if you willing to pay the security deposit on his behalf, It's only momentarily.

Just need to clarify before i rush down blindly to apply, i have our marriage booklets translated and notarised in China, i do not need her household booklet right since its not stated under the social pass requirements, its only for entry visa?

right? I just need to bring her passport down to ICA and apply for social pass (Social Visitor Whose Spouse Is A Singapore Citizen (SC) or Singapore Permanent Resident (SPR)) and that is sufficient right?

Juz keep her household booklet aside since there's no change in it, unless she married to another chinese in China, den her name in the household booklet will be tfred to the male's family.

Check with counter staff in 4th flr first as whether you can apply a LTSVP instead of a social visa or not? As I'm not sure whether ICA will grant you a LTSVP directly which I don't think so, and a social visa is granted for her to come here, and then apply for LTSVP thereafter. I strongly believe that your spouse need a medical check-up in singapore before LTSVP is approved.

I have the household booklet with me but all in chinese and i do not wanna waste $ and time endorsing if not necessary.
So i am applying now for Social Visitor On Short Visit only right as long term one might not be able to apply directly? no need to apply entry visa right cos so many visa/entry etc until i am confused. 1 more thing i still havent translate her graduation cert, any idea specifically where i can do it quickly? cos i think i will be running places and ending up in ques

Actually, I myself had 3 English translated documents for ICA when getting LTSVP for my wife. Namely:-

1) Her background - these details were actually extracted from her household booklet, stating who are her parents and her address in China
2) Her zero criminal record in China
3) Our marriage documents

These 3 English documents were all translated in China before I brought them out to Singapore for application of LTSVP. ICA accepted them readily too.
