Multiple celebrations to usher in 2006

KUALA LUMPUR: Folks in the Klang Valley are all set to usher in 2006, with celebrations lined up around the city tonight.

The Tourism Ministry’s New Year Countdown celebration will be on at Dataran Merdeka.

The festivities will start at 7.30pm with the AmBank Group Gemilang 2006 Concert, featuring such artistes as Reshmonu, Ruffedge, Zainal Abidin, M. Nasir, Ezlynn and Winnie Kok as well as Nita, Dina and Daniel of Malaysian Idol fame.

The programme will also include the ministry's launch of its Visit Malaysia Year 2007 campaign, followed by the countdown, which will culminate in an eight-minute fireworks display. The concert will then resume, before finishing at 1am.

Those looking to partying away the rest of 2005 can also opt for the Petronas New Year Eve celebration at KLCC or the Battle of the Bands at Berjaya Times Square.

Several roads here will be closed for tonight's celebrations, and closures will be divided into Phase 1 (total closure) and Phase 2 (closure in stages), Bernama reports.

Roads involved under Phase 1 at the Dataran Merdeka area are Jalan Raja from the Jalan Raja/Jalan Tun Perak junction to Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman. They are closed today and will reopen at 5am tomorrow.

The public can use alternative roads like Jalan Kinabalu, Jalan Maharajalela and Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock.

At KLCC, the roads that will be closed beginning from 7pm today are Jalan Exxon Mobil and Jalan Persiaran Exxon Mobil, while Jalan P. Ramlee, Jalan Pinang, Jalan Kia Peng and Jalan Stonor, which lead to the area, will be closed in stages.

Jalan Telawi 3 in Bangsar Baru will be closed from 3pm today until 1am tomorrow.

In Bukit Bintang, part of Jalan Sultan Ismail – from the Jalan Imbi/Jalan Sultan Ismail junction to the Jalan Sultan Ismail/Jalan Bukit Bintang junction – will be closed today.

Vehicles using Jalan Imbi from Jalan Hang Tuah and Jalan Pudu will not be allowed to turn left into Jalan Sultan Ismail.

These roads will reopen tomorrow at 5am.

The public can use Jalan Imbi, Jalan Tun Razak and Jalan Hang Tuah as an alternative.

City police will also be conducting special operations such as Ops Mabuk (drink driving) and Ops Cegah Lumba Haram (illegal racing).

I was with some friends at genting on 26dec2005. After winning some extra cash,decide to go down KL to cheong. I hired a taxi at rm60 n down we go. Driver bring us to "green elephant". Hm...went in n a OKT bring a few girls. My bros not satified on the QC so decide to go another spa. Traffic was terrible that day. We arrive at our next destination..."nan zhong hai spa......sound like tat. The place look quite grand but damp it....electricity failure!! We are ask to go to other spa. we are so tired n sian liao...later got another place call "A plus". Cpt bring in few girls for us to choose. Intro one by one by cpt. Cpt say that particular girl "steal eat"(tao jiat in hokkien). My friend find interesting.hm....must b tight n gd....yummy !!! I choose another one which is young, 19y/o. Ok not to the girl FRs....guess better dun mention...sigh......all really no standard leh.. Later dip into hot pool(damp not hot) n cold pool(not cold). Soak ourself for a few min n unforseen thing happen.........BLACKOUT !!!! #@*&#@ Overall dun enjoy ourself at the spa. We decide to try out the KTV with hostess...yummy?? Walk around the streets and found this KTV call spiral. Cpt lead us to 3rd floor. Wow room was very spacious leh.haha urge to raba.... Mummy bring in many girls periodically. Damp all not standard leh n can't raba or autoroam .........aiyo dun really expect KL KTV QC so bad leh...later leave the place n back to genting a very disappointing figure.

sorry to find out u had a horrible time in KL sweetalk, but I guess u never read the spa recommendations or called our KL No. 1 KLKOOL for guide, otherwise u would have had a much better time Don't worry no commission is charged keke in fact certain places got regular member price coz our regular cheongsters go there almost everyday. Those places that u went were the ones we urge to AVOID!

Ya u rite, I dun read any of it. Imagine so many pages in this thread n I got no idea who is the KL lao jiao here. But nvm just wanna share what I have experience with u bros here. Btw I am not regular KL cheongster n in fact I last come KL n genting many years back. I rather go JB n Sg as it is nearer.Thank for your advice anyway ..ooop miss the days when I was at waterfront casino.....jb lsb also close.....sian liao lah...that y go genting to relax n earn some bucks
