Re: Sales People for China, Hong Kong and Taiwan
Thanks to Bro Shenge, ShanghaiPapa, Ronald and 84Gunners,
for sharing with me, 1 underdog now, about your views on life and works. Appreciate that. Well, I agreed with 84Gunners also, if I were to setup biz, I will also do likewise. I can't make all the $$ in the world and I wont want to be billionair like Li Ka Sheng. Just set a baseline and feed and family, enjoy the moments with them and enjoy life, maybe take up a major which I longed for, which I could't afford last time. You guys heard of KKFong? Heard that he failed 4 times! omg, even the last time was in late 50s, or maybe 60s....he disappeared from Sillypore scene and recently he jumped into the limelight again. Amazing fellow. Heard he went China to seek opportunity and came back with good profits. Dame!!!, should have get to know him when he down, asked him to pass me some of his secret of success LOL..... Well, I still making ends meets here in Sillypore land due to my foolishness and immaturity during younger days. Hopefully, with the advice from the bro here, I can succeed in my field. India? omg......you guys might say I racist, well, YES i am! Lucky I refused to listen to my colleagues on Indian Euqity, or esle, all my clients will lose money. Spotted the downfall last Nov2005, yet no one listen.... For a moment, I feel I just like Geroge Soros or Warren Buffet...hehe.....Now in office, they sometime ask me for advice. 得民心,得天下??? Well Said....

My experience is really limited lah, the previous 3 countries were all in SEA, food, weather and way of life is quite similar to us so need not much adjustment. Only my present one in Northen China really open my eyes! Besides cutural differences making my job difficult, the little daily adjustment due to weather change also taught me not to take life for granted. While I understand we need to put on extra clothing to keep warm, if I never come, the idea of keeping equipments "warm" is never in my mind! During winter, I have to remember to change engine oil for car, add anti freeze additive to the radiator, add white wine to the whiper washer fluid (to save cost, taught by the local ), buy and stock up coal for coal firing boiler to supply heating water to keep the office and staff quarters warm etc. Really eye opening for a person born in the tropic! Any way, after all the Kao peh Kao Bu, most of us manage to pull through the years..good or bad. I am very contented that I still able to serve SBF, and go down to CP to cheong once in a while.. I do not think the opportunities I have is given to IT industry only. Many industries oso have great opportunities in China. So dun despair juz because u see someone in IT industry having opportunities u dun have. In fact, I know of several people in IT industry oso stuck in sinkapore. 1 good example is my younger bro. he even got degree, major in IT some more. yet cant even get a job in IT industry. he's now a customer service officer, manning the hotline (complaints) in a local bank. u imagine, his job is to answer phone calls, n most of the time, kena fark by customers unhappy or tulan with the bank (most people tulan with this bank). u see 4 urself, an IT degree holder working this kinda job. but what can he do? he's trying, but still cant find a job in IT industry, or a better job in another industry, he oso need to eat, and cant depend on family for too long. if he dun work, lagi worse, dun even get any working / life experience. he's with his current gf for several years now, but he dun even dare to think of marriage, cos he said got no future with current job (what happens if 1 fine day, he cant tahan the customer tekan anymore, how?). he wanna get a job with better career prospects, then he dare think of getting married n starting family. |

So what’s the problem here? Society moving too fast, or the country’s policies moving to slow to catch up? Or is our solution is to keep moving backwards to the less develop countries to seek for an escape route? Day in day out I see battered souls dragging their dead beat bodies to work for the minute remuneration, I cant help but think is this the final destination of our life. Looking on the brighter side makes not much of a difference as well; everywhere seems to be oozing with problems without solution and yet screaming for attention. Like it or not, you seems to get suck into matters that either you are on the wrong end or sitting on the fence. Serenity and peace seems a distant luxury and almost out of our dictionary, given the plight we are in, seems the only way out is to continue to plough our way on…..

Bro Oceaneleven, A well said & shared posting herein on your thoughts & sentiments............... Indeed all of us in our own lives, do comprises lots of agendas, be it for family or for one's career. Yet nevertheless, one still have to come to a certain point at a certain junction in our lives to make decision to go ahead or to execute certain decision whom for those around us would usually think otherwise. In all fairness, I would only say on my own behalf that one to choose it's own path shall learn to accept the fate and destiny that comes along with it, be it good or bad..... My cent worth of personal opinion. Cheerios to all.............

One of the main reasons is our lack of natural resources. We have come a long way, the little red dot is heading toward saturation without any natural resources helping us. All commodity prices like oil, gold, silver, steel, palm oil, u name it has gone up over the years. Even rice n maize thought the prices have gone up much but their productivity have increased by miles. So everybody around us is enjoying the fruits and getting paid from stuff that comes out fm their ground. Except us. Singapore only resources are our brain, body and what we had made over the years. Thus the going will get tougher each years and we are expected to hard smarter n harder in order to maintain our growth. What we want to ? How we wanto do it ? where we wanto do it ? It's up to individuals.... We got to use our brain more than others.... nothing from the ground to help us....
