The Unknown Bliss
By now I've been in China for 2 weeks plus working tirelessly everyday. I've had barely enough time to even chat to my wife but for some reason she seem quite okay with it. Which was strange.. Some days I don't even manage to talk to her as I finish work close to midnight.

But all the hard work paid off as we managed to implement the solution earlier than our extended deadline which meant I could go home.
As I found out the news I took out my phone to text my wife. But before I sent I thought to myself.
"I wanna give her a happy surprise her for my early return" I then deleted the text and put the phone in my pocket.
I managed to get a flight back to Singapore on the 7th April. She was expecting me on the 11th.
My company told me I had to adhere to a SHN upon arriving back in Singapore as the lockdown was to be in place.
I spent most of 6th April closing off the project and packing up. I was quite excited to go home finally to my wife. I haven't spoken to her in 2 days so this surprise would be a good opportunity.

I left Wuxi early in the morning for a long drive back to Shanghai and boarded my plane at around 10 am. The aircraft was almost empty as a lot of the flights were grounded or restricted so the flight back was quite relaxing and even managed to sleep.

I reached Singapore at around 3pm and rushed out to find a grab via my corporate phone. I didn't even get time to swap out my personal phone sim card back to Singapore. Thats how excited I was to hold my wife back in my arms.

I kept wanting to text her that I was coming home but I resisted the urge to do so as to not ruin the surprise. It was a long time since I've done a surprise for her. The last one was our proposal. She is very good at catching me out on surprises so the opportunities are far and few.

Finally reached my condo, took my things and went up the elevator. I was ready to give her one good bonk when I reached home as the time in China was long.

As I walked towards the door I took off my shoes I noticed a new pair white converse shoes by the door which I did not recognize. I thought to myself
"she must of gone to do some retail therapy while I was away..classic"

I slowly used my key to open to the door to creep in.. As I opened the door I was expecting to see her sitting there doing her work but she was no where to be found.

I quietly put my things down and crept further in. I could hear music coming from our room so I walked towards there.

I slowly opened the door and I could not believe my eyes...
