JOHOR BARU: Police have crippled a prostitution ring with the arrest of 15 foreign women who work as guest relations officers at a local entertainment outlet in Taman Daya here.

Johor vice, gambling, secret societies division (D7) officer Deputy Supt Mohammad Abd Hamid said the women, aged between 18 and 27, were arrested during the raid at 1.30am yesterday.

Nine of the women are Vietnamese and six are Filipinos.

“The women would drink with their customers before going to another location for sex. Usually, the men pay between RM400 and RM500 per session,” he said.

DSP Mohammad said the men would book their preferred partner through a middleman and wait for the outlet to close before they had sex with the women.

He said initial investigations revealed that four of these women did not have any travel documents while the rest had misused their visit passes by working in the outlet.

“We also detained a 36-year-old local man who was believed to be taking care of them,” he said.
