Let’s start from the most basic form of stupidity within elitist remarks. Last January, PAP MP Gan Thaim Poh had the audacity to claim that the PM was giving everyone a “discount” since his pay is less than Singapore’s population. How ridiculous is this? What basis is there for $1? The fact remains that ground sentiments towards ministerial salary were averse even after the review and support for the PAP was at an all-time low and such a comment was circumstantially inappropriate.
What about being able to afford a flat on a $1,000 income, as claimed by several ministers? No doubt that it may be possible on the surface, what about the long-term sustainability of servicing the loans? In the long-run, these low-income workers are the most vulnerable to foreign worker competition while they have other bills to pay as well. Their $800 take home pay is barely enough for food, electricity bills and transport. While they can purchase a flat, they are pushed to the edge while having little safety net. Talk about having a textbook ‘solution’ but having no empathy for real world conditions.
Clearly, what was once a controversial remark of stupidity has now become a commonplace occurrence among the PAP dogs. 2 questions arise from my earlier problems: If these dogs (who think they are gods) do not understand us, how then can they act in our interests? If they expect us to submit to them when they have proven themselves to be so unworthy, then do we even trust them?

(President Xi Jinping of China should be paid S1,350,000,000 per year, using this really dumb MP's logic?)
