This is based on a true story which has started about 10 years ago, names have been changed to protect the identity of those involved. This relationship is significant for me and nobody except for Ada and myself knew about it. I hope that by putting it up in this forum, it will serve as some sort of an outlet for me to vent, for the decade-long secrecy is killing me….. I had to let it out somewhere and not hurt anyone in the process.

I remembered the year was 2003, I’d just graduated from OCS and was posted to an artillery brigade unit in Amoy Quee Camp to serve out the remainder of my National Service. I must admit that I’d enjoyed a rather blessed life, great family where finances were never an issue. Throughout my childhood I’d enjoyed the best that money can provide, it helped to open the doors to great education, exposure and experiences; my relationship with my parents were fantastic right up till the eve of my NS enlistment. Post my “A” levels, I have decided to follow my heart and purse a professional education in Music and Film Production; my dad has scorned at that idea, he wanted his son to be a professional (i.e. doctor/lawyer) and was not in agreement on my decision to enter the so-called “lower-classed” entertainment industry. A fallout resulted and my finances were all frozen – since my dad could not convince me, he has decided to use money to coerce me into his bidding.

I was never a spendthrift to begin with, I dine in hawker centers/food courts and took public transport but back in those days; the meagre allowance of a 2LT is very hard to get by. By the time I’ve cleared off my monthly expenses, there isn’t really any much left for my “education savings”. I had to find a way to make more money. I was fortunate that the unit had granted me stay-out privileges, so I was able to utilize the weekday nights for other moonlight jobs – tuition teacher and part-time swimming coach.

That was when it happened.

I was assigned by the agent to tutor a Sec 4 student in preparation for her upcoming O levels – I will be covering Mathematics and Chemistry. Prior to the 1st session, I took the MRT and alighted at Admiralty Station and headed my way to Woodlands Ave 6. Arrived at the flat, pressed the doorbell and a middle-aged lady opened the door.

Me: “Auntie. Good Evening. My name’s Tony and I am your daughter’s tutor.”
Auntie: “啊！进来进来! Girl! 你的老师来了，快出来。”

I was busy taking off my boots (yes – I’d to rush there over after camp and had no time to change out of my number 4). By the time, I’m done and looked up, I was in awe! Standing right before me, was the most beautiful girl that I’ve ever seen. It was as though as if I’m looking at the younger version of Ling Zhi Ling. I was such an idiot, no words in that awkward couple of seconds; lucky her mum came into the rescue and took over the conversations and led me into her room and sat me down beside her study table.

While her daughter went off to the kitchen to get me something to drink. Her mum started the usual background checks and introductory conversations. Turns out that her daughter is called “Ada”, she’s a Sec 4 student studying in SCGS (Singapore Chinese Girl’s School). Ada’s grades were all along fine but started to decline during her later Sec 3 days, particularly on her Maths and Chem. Her parents were naturally worried as they wanted her to do well for O’s, get into a good JC and hopefully, a scholarship to a local university. Looking around their typical HDB flat, I get an impression that this is a typical lower-middle income family banging all their hopes onto their only child. Clearly the mum was impressed with my credentials and was comfortable that I am “up for the job”; with that acceptance, she ushered Ada into the room so that we can begin the classes. The rest were pretty much SOP.

This tutor-student relationship carried on for about 4 weeks, x02 90-min sessions per week (Tuesday and Friday). Ada’s grades have seen improvements; (1) her assignment marks were moving from the low 60s to the mid 70’s range (2) her mum has trusted me more, even to the extent of closing the room door to prevent us from being disturbed by outside noises (3) Ada has also significantly warmed up to me as well, having come from an all-girls school, I am one of the few guys that she can be in close proximity with. The initially shy/demure/soft-spoken Ada has shed her mask to reveal a free-spirit/gregarious/curious girl…… rather than being a tutor/student, we became more like friends.

And then, things start to change.

I remembered it was the 9th session. Her mum had gone out for an auntie gathering, when I pressed the doorbell, Ada came to open the door. I sensed something was differently but just couldn’t pointed it out at that moment. Back in the room, after we’ve commenced on the class and she was busy solving some questions which I’d set; I took the opportunity to observe her.

Her hair was silky black soft, normally she would tie it up in a pony-tail, but today she had let it flow naturally down. It covers her lovey eyes so lightly and occasionally she will flick it back her ear to keep her fringe in check. Her eyes are so soft, so gentle; her well-defined facial features and her sharp cheekbones….. *Holy Shit! She’s wearing make-up! No wonder she looks “different”* and instead of the usual loose t-shirt/shorts, she’s wearing a nice body-hugging dress. Never had I realized that she had such a 苗条身材 and an accentuated chest (probably somewhere between a 32B and 32C). It was right at this moment, my “small” head temporary usurp control:

Me: “哇！今天穿到那么漂亮，待会儿要跟男朋友出去吗？”
Ada: “没有啦！我从来都没有男朋友。今天知道你要来所以穿好一点。”
Me: *Heart melts and butterflies burst out of my stomach* “哦。。” *speechless*
Ada: “Why? You don’t like my attire? Not nice?”
Me: “No! No! No! It’s very nice. It’s just that you looked so different; not like a young girl anymore, but rather like…………”
Ada: “Like what?”
Me: “Like a very sexy hot babe, whom I wouldn’t hesitate to choose as my girlfriend”

At that very moment, I really wished that the floor will open up and swallow me whole. This is a 16 year old girl here, who so happens to be my STUDENT too! Why am I having these sort of thoughts about her? And what audacity do I have to even say something like that to her? Ada’s bound to tell her mum about this and there goes my job! I might even get a complaint and get blacklisted by the tuition agency --- society has a name for people like me --- “Pedophile”.

What followed, was a very awkward 2-3 minutes silence. Ada never responded back to my remark, she changed the subject back to the class and ask for my advice on how to solve a particular math question. Sensing a chance to recover my composure and get my “big” head back in control, l leaned forward, took my pencil and started to draft the solution steps for her.

Ada took it in her stride, maybe it’s her sitting position because she inched closer to my right arm… too close as a matter of fact; it was as though she was straddling her left ample buxom against my right arm. My heart was racing and I’m losing all sense of control – “What is happening over here? Tony! For the love of God, get a grip of yourself! Ada is UNDERAGED! You are reading the signs all wrong! Control yourself! Control your freaking self!”

While my right hand was trembling with excitement and I’m losing all sense of logical control, I felt Ada’s right hand brushing against my right thigh and slow-yet-firmly moving up towards my nether regions.

I panicked. With my brain imploded, I jumped out and bolted for the door, opened it and slammed it behind me. Me, that 20 year old hormones racing self in the living room and Ada, that angel of whom had suddenly changed so abruptly in the past 15 minutes.

Make no mistake here, I’m straight heterosexual and will have LOVED to take Ada then and there; but what’s going on here? Things does not add up, what is happening here???.......

To be honest - it was never in my intention. Imagine the time wasted if i have to change everyday after book-in and before book-out. AMQ camp is rather far from the YCK MRT station, if i missed the camp shuttle bus, there will be no way i can make it in time for my tuition classes.

15 minutes passed. Ada slowly opened the room door. Seeing that I was still seating in the living room sofa in shock, she quietly came over and sat next to me.


Ada: “I’m sorry. Am I………. Am I really that scary?”
Me: “……. I’m not afraid. I’m actually shocked. Why are you doing all these? It just doesn’t make sense? Everything is too sudden.”
Ada: “I thought you guys love this sort of thing. I saw those Japan AV videos, all the actresses do that and the guys seem to like it.”
Me: “Movie…. Is a movie, it is not reality; anyway….. Why all these in a sudden? I think there’s something which you are not telling me. If you don’t mind, you can tell me about it; just promise me that you will not rape me at the end. =P”

*Ada giggled* God! I love the way she gave that girly laugh – with that giggle, we can feel that the tension between us was lifted.

Ada: “You remembered my mum telling you that my results plummeted last year during my Sec 3?”

Ada: “Well… I was actually having a relationship problem with my boyfriend.”
Me: “Wait! I thought you just told me that you have no boyfriends before?”
Ada: “No lah! My ex was actually a fellow schoolmate – a girl”
Me: “Holy Crap! You are a……. les?”
Ada: “What! Girls also go through puberty wah! We are also naturally interested in BGR, sex and such… Since we are in an all-girls environment, we had for a substitute for boys.”
Me: “人不可貌相，海水不可斗量”
Ada: “Wah! 要不要听的？插东插西。”

“Why me? Why me?” those words kept ringing in my brain. I know that in the courtship arena, I can hold my ground, getting the opposite sex to like me was never really hard; but no matter how good I am, I know that I’m not that G.O.O.D, where girls (the likes of Ada) will come and投怀送抱。But then again, one man’s meat is another man’s poison; since Ada likes me and I like Ada (to be honest, at that particular moment in time, it was more like lust), I really do not see a reason to reject her --- *sigh* To be young, is to be free!


Ada: “Hey! Think so bloody long! Wah Laoz – I already dare to confess and ask you. All you have to do is say yes or no. Am I really that bad?”
Me: “Ada – You are not bad, you are not bad at all. In-fact, to me, you are the most beautiful angel that I’ve ever seen. I was thinking because I do not want to make a decision which will hurt you in any way. I will rather die than to see you hurt.”
Me: “Ada – yes. I want you to be my girlfriend. I like you and I want to know you better” *darn! I can be such a sweet talker at times*

Nothing much happened for the next couple of weeks – both of us were extremely busy. Ada was in the band (unfortunately I cannot disclose which instrument she played, as that will be too obvious for the readers here to research and find her) and she had some sort of performance/trainings to prepare for; I myself, was “forcibly” encouraged to volunteer to help out in another unit’s exercise (I recall it should be 20SA). When we do meet, it will either be for Ada’s tuition/revision or dinner/lunch near her home – our usual joint was at Causeway Point’s McDonald.

During our meet-up, there were nothing sexual. I never got the chance to get passed 2nd base; hence one can only imagine that immense pent-up energy within me, needless to say, millions of planes were shot down from the sky during these few weeks – aka – “打飞机”. There were benefits though (1) we have come out of the closet and informed Ada’s parents. Overall, it was good. Her dad was neutral but her mum was overjoyed (I honestly suspect that it has something to do with my uniform); (2) I wasn’t kidding about Ada’s beauty – quite tall at around 1.72, very fair with soft jet black hair, sharp definite features with a killer bod to go with the package….. Ada is really like a perfect china doll. Whenever we go out, everyone will take at least a second glance at Ada, followed by an envious look at me --- it’s really a huge ego booster (the same theory as to why middle-aged uncles loves to drive sports car – its all about boosting that manly ego).

Finally by the end of April, we were able to squeeze out a day over the weekend. We decided to do what every teenager will do – catch a movie. I managed to book the tickets for the midnight show at Lido; borrowed my mum’s BMW and picked up Ada at her place. She was dressed with looks to kill, nothing way over the top, as a matter of fact, she was rather casually dressed, but there was just something about her that turns me on. She was wearing a basic white tank-top with a tight mini-skirt, heels and a nice baggy college sweater.


Ada: “Why are you staring at me? Something wrong with my attire?”
Me: “I’m not staring… I’m ogling and no, your attire’s fine. I just have to remember to bring along a pack of Kleenex to the cinema, ‘cos chances are I will be nose-bleeding throughout the movie”
Ada: “Aiyo! You very pervert leh! Like that you already nose-bleed, then next time how? Blood spurting through your eye sockets? Anyway, bring along that pack of Kleenex, we might need it afterwards.”
Me: “Huh? Why?”
Ada: “Ask so many questions for what? It’s a surprise, you’ll know later. Just drive now, I’m hungry”


Ever the nice boyfriend, I obeyed. Frankly speaking, if she had wanted me to jump off a building, I will do so with no hesitation, I’d succumbed totally under her charms. We had a nice dinner, followed by some late coffee @ Starbucks, then head off to Lido. Given that it’s a midnight show, there wasn’t that many people. As we were on the 3rd last side row, we pretty much have the entire row to ourselves and no one else beside and behind us. The show started, I remembered that it’s an action flick, I was all geared up for the movie. Suddenly Ada turned towards me and started to unbuckle my belt.
