His victim, Islam Md Nurul, a 23 year old Bangladeshi construction worker was left hanging onto a metal railing with his whole body dangling over the side of the building. He shouted for help and the lift operator came to his rescue. Li was originally going to be charged with attempted murder but he was able to plead guilty to the lesser charge of criminal intimidation. The incident happened at the Silversea Condominium construction site in Marine Parade in March. The two had been arguing because Li had suspected that his colleague was stealing materials. When they were going down in the lift, Islam Nurul was carrying a wheelbarrow and standing behind Li. Just as they were entering the lift, Li stopped and blocked the way of his colleague. When Nurul asked why Li had stopped, Li shouted a Hokkien Vulgarity at him then picked him up by holding his neck and right knee before bringing him to the end of the building. Li then lifted him over the railing and left him dangling there while Nurul clung onto the metal railing and shouted for help. He was so scared that he even called out to his mother and father. Li could have been jailed for up to 7 years. Click here to view the whole thread at www.sammyboy.com. |
