A Malaysian, Singapore Permanent Resident, Lee Eng Soon, 40, was fined $3000 today for scolding an ICA officer and using a vulgar word against him.
The incident happened on May 14th at the Woodlands Checkpoint when Lee had been trying to send his children to school.

He had been driving and was late but his daughter’s passport could not be scanned because of a ‘system error’.

The ICA officer attending to the family, Corporal Farmi Al Faqeh, 24, explained that there was a problem with the system.

Lee’s wife, who was also in the car, asked Cpl Farmi to hurry up but he explained that there was some error and he was trying to make it work.

At this point Lee became frustrated and shouted at the ICA officer to hurry up and said that he was “purposely wasting time”.







He then scolded vulgarities at him and called him an idiot.

Following this, Lee proceeded to ignore Cpl Farmi and said ‘pui’ to him several times.

Two officers nearby overheard the dispute and asked Lee to report to Jurong Police HQ later that day.
Lee admitted to scolding vulgarities at the ICA officer and was fined $3000.
