(Photo: AFP/Mohd Rasfan) A A KUALA LUMPUR:*Malaysian police have arrested UMNO member and chairman of Malay NGOs Jamal Md Yunos on possible sedition charges, his aide said on Friday evening (Sep 25). The police said Jamal was arrested at 8.50pm at the Ampang Jaya District Police Headquarters under Section 105 of the Penal Code relating to the proposed gathering in Petaling Street on Saturday.* Jamal was the spokesman for the Red Shirt rally that took place in Kuala Lumpur on Sep 16. He said on Wednesday that Petaling Street in Chinatown could see a riot if authorities failed to take action against traders, who were mostly Chinese, for selling pirated or counterfeit products to tourists. Red Shirt protesters have threatened another rally in Chinatown on Saturday. But the police warned Jamal that they would bring him in for questioning, including possibly arresting him, if he continued to threaten peace and racial harmony.
