A moment of regret part 2

Hi guys,

Just when I thought this matter is over, the fl contacted me again! At first I felt very happy and immediately on that night, I went over to meet her and talk over the night.

Through the conversation, I learnt that her current situation is that she has
"jumped" 跳 white card (failure to report to ICA on the stated date) due to her friend which I have saw her that night too.

She asked for my help and stated her plan which is:
1) earn $5000
2) pass the $5000 to me
3) She will give me a call before she turn herself in
4) using that $5000 to engage the lawyer
5) bail her out

All of these because she wants to avoid going into jail.

Initially, I agreed to help her and over the 2 days I went over to her house to accompany her but at the same time during those days, I have lots of concern like what if police ask where is my source of money and what if they question my intention of helping her when we are not related?

Until I confide to my friend, he told me that why go such a length for this girl? I have all the more to lose but what to gain? friendship? So what if after all these thing that I have done and when she went back to China, She cut me off again?

I struggled a lot emotionally and logically. Logically, not to help her because despite the few times I tried to ask for her forgiveness regarding the phone incident, she has totally ignored me.Now when she needs help then she contact me. Isnt this making use of me?

Emotionally, to help her because she believe in me and can entrust the $5000 to me that I will engage the lawyer on her behalf when she turn herself in.

Finally, the decision I made was not to help her because the fact that making use of me is so real. Guys, i would like to ask did I do the right thing?

Engage a lawyer also no use...money paid to lawyer and still she goes to jail...after that she will be deported and banned from entering...

as for TS, not matter of helping and why bother to help hopeless case...

Bro, replied your pm. Obviously in order to prove she trusted you, it got to be 2-way traffic. $5k for safe keeping, $3k because you have financial issue that needs her to help you back. You want to know why she approached you for help? Because others will add for a fee. You asked for nothing. You think she trusted you? On what ground?

On the fact, that she entrust me with the $5000 and believe in me that I will engage the lawyer on her behalf once she turn herself in. Can you imagine I can just take the $5000 and do nothing?

Thanks everyone for your comment. Seems like so far all have supported my decision not to help!

Aside from that I would like to seek fellow bros advice/point of view to clarify some doubts that I have with the FL plan:

1) Pass me $5000

2) she turn herself in

3) using the $5000 i will engage the lawyer

4) lawyer proceed to bail her out with me being the bailor (This part puzzled me because she said that the lawyer will pay the bail money upfront but from what I understand is that it has to be the BAILOR's money to be pledged so if the lawyer help to pay upfront that means after the case is concluded the money will be banked into my account.

5) During the period when she is on bail, she will get someone in China to remit the amount of the bail money to Singapore and she will proceed to pay back the lawyer.

6) Wait till the court date and wait for final judgement depending on how well the lawyer fight, either pay a fine and immediately deport back to China or go to jail to serve the sentence before deporting back to China.

She gave the reason why choosing me to help her is because first, she can save $2k, because if she would to ask the lawyer to get other people as bailor to bail her out there will be a fee of 2k to be paid to the bailor (stranger)

2nd because after the case is concluded the bail money will eventually banked into the bailor's bank account, she trust that I will remit the money back to her

I understand there are a lot of questionable things regarding her plan, for instance i asked her why not just get someone to remit the whole amount of money that she needed and pass it to me example like the 5k(lawyer fee) + 13k (bail fee) =18k? Instead of her needed to raise 5k by continue fl and only ask someone to remit the money when she is on bail?

Is the plan feasible? Most importantly, I want to check with you guys two thing which is first, it is even possible that the lawyer helps to pay upfront of the bail's money???? Secondly, is it possible for the lawyer to get others (strangers) to help bail her out(dark side one)?
