A man trapped in a concrete jungle

"ringgggg ringgggg" Damien got a jolt from the out of the blue phone call. He quickly muted the porn scene that was playing on his screen and picked up the call.

D: "Hello?"

A: "Hi, this is Angeline calling from OCBC. May I speak to Mr Damien Chia please?"

D: "Errr ya?"

A: "Hi, Mr Chia, I am pleased to inform you that your credit card application has been approved. We will be mailing your card to you shortly. Just wondering, will you be interested in any of our other products?"

D: "Okay, thanks. Ermm maybe not now. Next time?"

A: " But Mr Chia, I believe that there's this product that really suits you. Perhaps you want to learn more about it? I can tell you more over coffee. Maybe I can meet you after work?"

D: " BUT I really don't have time..." And he was cut off by a very enthusiastic Angeline.

A: "I can meet you at the Starbucks at your office. What time do you knock off?"

D: "I end at around 9pm today but ..."

A:" see you later then Mr Chia."

And Angeline hung up the phone. Damien thought to himself, "Wtf. Still thinking of going happy hour leh. Where got arrange meeting without my approval one. Must be end of month havent hit target."

Damien then continued working on his statement of claim due to be filed tonight.

At about 930pm, his phone rang again.

D: "Hello?"

A:" Hi, Mr Chia. Sorry to disturb, just checking if you're reaching already? Maybe I can order for you?"

Damien realised that he had forgot all about it.

D: "Sorry sorry, give me 15 mins and I'll be there. I don't need anything thanks."

A:"see you soon! "

Damien then packed his things and made his way down to Starbucks. When he was arriving, he saw this girl. Long black silky hair, body hugging dress and a bright smile.

A:" Hi Mr Chia!"

Damien takes a glance around Starbucks..

D:" I'm not used to coffee at this hour of the day. Do you mind if we move there instead?"

Damien gestured at the bar across the street...

A: "Of course not Mr Chia, anything to close the deal."

Anything? That raised some interesting thoughts in Damien's mind.

D: " don't call me Mr Chia. Makes me sound damn old. Just call me Damien will do."

A:" sure Damien. So what are you having?"

Damien signalled to the waiter.

D: " Two of the usual thanks."

A:" you come here often?"

D:" yea."

I shall not go into the boring details of the sales pitch. We all know what "bankers" say to get their sales. What we are interested more here is what they do to achieve the sales.

D:"look, your proposals sound interesting. I'll have to think about it and get back to you again."

Sensing that she's about to fail, Angeline was fast to react.
