Talking Spell Checker for New Thread Starters

Many thread titles are very amusing indeed.
Some were intentionally and mischievously chosen, some were mistakenly committed while some were carelessly written due to typo errors …..
Some Thread Starters thought that these forums are for our local consumption, and so they use many local terms and abbreviations in their posts. Many of our foreign readers will then have difficulties understanding them or will interpret them differently.
Once a thread title is created, it cannot be modified.
So lets us create a Spell Checker for frequently used terms so that the mistakes will not be embarrassingly repeated.
Senior Samsters should award points to those who help to spot mistakes and suggest corrections so as to encourage more positive contributions to these forum. And this is another avenue for those whose postings are being moderated to earn and regain their reputation points.

Re: Spell Checker for New Thread Starters

My 1st contribution is the word Masseur and Masseuse.

Masseur is a man who provides massage service. He may massage for ladies or men. Not necessary that he only massage for ladies.

Masseuse is a lady who provides massage service. Everyone knows that a masseuse will massage for ladies as well as for men. Though many masseuses chose to massage for men only for the obvious reason of being able to earn faster money by offering extra services.

cunnilingus

1887, from Mod.L. cunnus "vulva" (see cunt) + lingere "to lick" (see lick (v.)). The L. properly would mean "one who licks a vulva," but it is used in Eng. in reference to the action, not the actor. The verb ought to be cunnilingue.
"Cunnilingus was a very familiar manifestation in classical times; ... it tends to be especially prevalent at all periods of high civilization." [Havelock Ellis, 1905]

Woof! fantastic lesson brother poonani!

I will up your point when I have the power!

Great explanation of the word cunnilingus but I don't see the connection between cunnilingus and DATY?
You quoted DATY = Dinner At The Y, what is Y?

Massager refers to a mechanical device or contraption that does a massaging action.

Used in the sentence;

"The OSIM foot massager was the best gift for my wife as she always wears high heels."

Re: Spell Checker for New Thread Starters

Yes, brother I<3Ivy gave a very good explanation of the word massager.

Massager is a device and not a person.
Masseur is a male who does massage.
Masseuse is a lady who does massage.
There are a few threads titles here recommending massage girls but misleadingly calling them Masseurs or Massuers.

And yes, brother d3rrick, I got your hint!
I like the view o the Y too!
It is where the G-string fit, heeheehee?
Great imagination of this guy who invented it, huh?

DATY = Dinner At The Y

Nope, not for me!
I don’t paint.
I rather pump at the Y.

Thanks brothers for your great contribution at my thread!

"lor" is a part of local speech used at the end of a sentence usually implying something is obvious or need not be said. Eg. Hungry? Go and have ur dinner lor...

"kekeke" is a version of laughing sound such as heehee, haha, hoho

"liao" means "already", eg. i have bathed liao means i have bathed already. But it is usually only used in the affirmative and not as a question. Eg have u had ur dinner already? is usually not spoken as have u had ur dinner liao?

"shiok" is a malay word borrowed over to the local English (also known as Singlish, i.e. Singapore English). It basically means something pleasurable, enjoyable, etc. Eg. her cathbath very shiok means her catbath was very pleasurable or enjoyable. Can also be used for non-sexual pleasure as well eg. the food is very shiok means the food is very tasty.

Re: Spell Checker for New Thread Starters

Great! Brother too_hot.
Welcome to contribute in my thread!
I thought Brother lrm08 was cracking a joke by asking the above questions!
Well, thanks for taking the troubles to explain in great details.

I wish to expand further your explnations as follows:

"lor" is a part of local speech used at the end of a sentence usually implying something is obvious or need not be said. Eg. Hungry? Go and have ur dinner lor... This is habitually used in the spoken form in Mandarine and all Chinese dialects.

"kekeke" is a version of laughing sound such as heehee, haha, hoho
A teasing way of laughing sounds. Kekeke implies more of a cunning way or sarcastic manner of laughing.

"liao" means "already or completed", eg. i have bathed liao means i have bathed already. But it is usually only used in the affirmative and not as a question. Eg have u had ur dinner already? is usually not spoken as have u had ur dinner liao?
This is habitually used in the spoken form in Hokkien which is a Chinese dialect.

"shiok" is a malay word borrowed over to the local English (also known as Singlish, i.e. Singapore English). It basically means something pleasurable, enjoyable, etc. Eg. her cathbath is very shiok means her catbath was very pleasurable or enjoyable. Can also be used for non-sexual pleasure as well eg. the food is very shiok means the food is very tasty.
Yes, SHIOK is a Malay word meaning very pleasurable or very good or very fun etc...

Well done Brothers!
Keep the contributions coming! Cheers!

Yeah, you are right!
And also, plural for Advice is still Advice and not Advices, right?

Corrections to errors in my postings are welcome and encouraged for the benefit of everyone!

Cheers!

Re: Spell Checker for New Thread Starters

Hi bro Laserbeam,

My humble two cents worth:
Your observation is spot-on. We use the word advice for both singular and plural.

Once common mistake which people may commit is to say "thank you for your many good advices". Advice is one of those "uncountable" things our teachers taught us in school. The correct syntax would be "thank you for all your good advice" or "he has given me much advice on how to write FRs".

Hope I've contributed in my own small way.
