My bx give birth when on ltvp+ natural birth at kkh A ward. 5k plus include bb's.. can use medisave so cash only less than 2k.

LTVP+ is already at subsidized rates... LTVP is totally not subsidized..

In case you dunno how the system works..... you cannot suka suka go to any MP that you want. You can only go to the MP of the constituency that you reside in. Even if you go to AMK to see the PM..... he will refer you back to your own MP..... make noise or create a scene there by insisting to see the PM and his people will "invite" you for curry rice dinner at the gahmen chalet.

Ya correct. What I mean is try get ltvp+ before she give birth.. but anyway even subsidies also not much..

ticktack04, if your wife dont want to convert or at least take a PR then cant expect her to enjoy some of the the perks of a local. imagine our hard earn money goes to subsidize foreigners by our government, a lot of ppl will be very buay song rite?

i urge your wife to at least get a PR. i not so sure on the rules on LTVP, but my wife is a PR and give birth in Mount Alvernia in Class A1 ward and I only pay 3K plus cash after all deductable. maybe you should go check out the hospital website and call up to enquire more before your decision.

also, if your kid is a SG, you a SG, but she don want to become a SG. why? prepare to go home anytime?

Hi.. thanks for the reply.. i guess u seen wrongly.. she wants to be a PR at least. Its just that ICA only gave her a LTVP now and she's pregnant. Unless PR was approved on first try (highly unlikely), then the bill is gona be high. As mentioned, PR and LTVP+ have health subsidy of at least 35% if i am not wrong. LTVP totally none. That is a financial burden for a single income family like myself.

As for nationality, She hasnt stayed in singapore for long. If she had stayed longer, maybe she would want to be a citizen. It is never an easy decision to give up your nationality. Much less a woman who has no relative or friends here.

check the various maternity insurance ...

you never know, re PR, some have got approved in 1 month...

be positive ...

ask ICA and explain and try to submit PR ... if not submit yet ..

good luck! mine was approved AFTER i gave birth -- it was my first application too.
