Just happened!!!
HANOI: Vietnam on Friday devalued its currency for the fourth time in 15 months as the country tries to control a trade deficit and rising inflation. The average interbank exchange rate was adjusted by 9.3 per cent to 20,693 dong to the dollar, against 18,932 dong previously, the State Bank of Vietnam said. The central bank also tightened the daily trading band for buying and selling dollars by commercial banks, to one percent from the previous three per cent of the interbank exchange rate. The devaluation had been widely expected. ====== A little mistake in the figures. Should be adjusted from 19,500 to 20,890. Devalued by 7.1%.

Hope the dong keep droping until it reach 20000. Me too read some news that they forecast that by end of this yr, the exchange should go 20000. Me just change at the same place today again, ask few goldsmith shop, the highest is 16600 only.

Vietcom Bank official buy rate at their website is 16333 for 1 SGD. Hopefully can exchange some at Ben Thanh market vicinity at higher rate.
Any suggestions which goldsmiths around Ben Thanh I can visit? or any to avoid? I am flying in to HCM city this weekend.
