The taxi fare should be 1800p from AC to Subic. If you get the taxi from the hotel, the hotel gets a commission. If you go to the taxi station, most probably the touts will slaughter you. I get my taxis from the travel agent. There are a couple of them opposite the Margarita Station that I use regularly and I don't pay more than 1800p. Sometimes the drivers try to pull a fast one on me by pulling into a petrol station to refill and ask me to pay for it. I tell them to go fly kite... in a nice way.

If you like the Baloy Beach area, Traders Vic is a good place to stay. Recently upgraded and added a new wing too.

For me I prefer to stay in the Barrieto area and there are good affordable rooms aplenty there.

By the sea is more suited for you. Location wise is like Devera to Fields. Johan is like Tune Hotel re location.

Start with a night stay. Change after you done an on the ground assessment. Look for advert banners.
