Topless woman on Nicoll Highway arrested

She was spotted walking topless in the middle of the busy road.

A witness, who wanted to be known only as Madam Yu, 51, told The New Paper that the woman caused a traffic jam along Nicoll Highway towards Mountbatten Road at around 5.45pm yesterday.

The senior personal assistant, who was in a car driven by her husband, said: "The woman was carrying her bra in her right hand. She was strolling calmly towards the city near The South Beach hotel. Many vehicles swerved to avoid her."

TNP understands that there was no accident during the incident, and the woman is a China national.

Responding to queries from TNP, police said they received a call about the woman at around 5.40pm.

A spokesman added that officers arrived at the scene and arrested the 38-year-old under the Mental Health Act.

Madam Yu, who has two adult children, said her husband had picked her up near her workplace at Clarke Quay Central shopping mall at around 5.30pm.

SINGAPORE - Two men have been arrested for affray after they got into a fight over Pokemon GO. This is the first arrest here related to the popular gaming app.

The two are aged 28 and 33.

Police, in a press release on Tuesday (Aug 16), said they received a call about a dispute between a car driver and a pedestrian at the car park entrance of Plaza Singapura on Sunday (Aug 14).

Preliminary investigations revealed that the pedestrian was playing Pokemon GO on his mobile phone while crossing the road. When the car driver sounded his car horn at the pedestrian, a dispute arose and blows were exchanged.

Both men were arrested.

The police noted that there have been reports on social media of people crossing roads without regard for their safety or those of motorists, parking inconsiderately, or generally causing inconvenience to others while allegedly chasing Pokemons.

"In your search to "catch 'em all", please do not endanger your life or personal safety, or cause inconvenience to those around you<' said the police statement.

SINGAPORE - Teenage blogger Amos Yee was back in court on Wednesday (Aug 17) morning.

Yee, 17, faces six charges of intending to wound the feelings of Muslims or Christians - via five videos and a photo - and two counts of failing to report to the Jurong Police Division for investigations.

The alleged offences were committed between November last year and May this year.

Yee, dressed in an orange T-shirt and a pair of beige cargo pants, arrived in court with his mother Mary Toh. He does not have a lawyer.

The trial is expected to last for four days.

On May 26, Yee told District Judge Ronald Gwee he intended to claim trial.
