The word Appeal in the eyes of the Law should be

- 2 transfer or apply 2 transfer (a case) 2 a higher court 4 rehearing.

- a legal proceeding in which the appellant resorts 2 a higher court 4 the purpose of obtaining a review of a lower court decision & a reversal of the lower court's judgment or the granting of a new trial.

Or in other words 2 challenge (a decision) made by a lower court.


Pending the outcome of the appeal, there is no 100% definite answer.
But he could also get an increase or reduction sentence after the appeal.

Actually there are a lot of questionable points. No one knows exactly what happened better than Ong himself. I think the victim wasn't too sure of the fine details of that night too; right from the time when she started to get high till the time she went home. But if he had forced the intercourse to take place when the gal was not in the clear state of mind, he definitely took a gamble and he lost big time.
But I personally find it funny too, as many bros had mentioned, how did he find to mood to have sex with the gal when she was in such an emotional state. Afterall, the gal was just someone he had just knew from clubbing. He probably just wanted to take advantage of the situation.

Is this a true story? Sounds too good to be true. The cops don't anyhow bring rape cases to court unless evidence is very strong. That friend should have reported the girl for blackmail! It would've been ridiculous for the cop to believe the girl was raped if she had the presence of mind to collect his sperm-filled condom and after SOMETIME (I presume days later) go report him for rape!

i educated but i like clubbing leh is there a conflict of interests between clubbing and education?

I do go out at night. BUT the difference is, i try not to stay out too late at night or go back home too late. I try to be back during "early" night like 10-11 PM. Is that having NO LIFE? Does it mean u must hang out till after 12AM to have a life?

I am of the view that this guy deserved the sentence.

We are men, we are horny. But in this world, many prefer to take a step back if something seems wrong. I know and seen guys who are reckless and aggressive. Many gals out there have suffered.

I dun think this is the case whereby the gal having mood swing after having sex. No sign of threat, money demanded etc mentioned in court. At desperate moment, usually a guy will say the gal changed her mind AFTER sex and demanded money or threatened him. Mr Ong didnt even mentioned that.

Any guy who uses force is an a-hole. You can f a gal who is cheap, willing, it is fine. But when you f a gal who is unwilling, you create a nightmare in her life forever. Seriously, 7 years is nothing. 8 cane is nothing. Cut the dick off should be the appropriate outcome.

this must be from some inmature boy boy living in his innocent world
the police and the judge are not stupid
in court, this kind of case, legal files contain alot of assumptions and possibilities
the defendent lawyer would bring all these up

maybe the person plead guilty on the lst day before judge

The victim's failure to adequately assessed the risk and exercise caution when clubbing and whatever her reason for going home with a stranger is not an invitation to rape. It does not mean that she caused what happened and to empathise with the attacker that "it’s not totally his fault” to provide reasons for leniency.

Bear in mind that a rapist is not a Victim of Opportunity. He is an Opportunist taking advantage of an easy victim. Some may argued that there may be a genuine case about consent to sex, let’s remember the fact that her alcohol level was above the toxic level which physically and mentally incapacitated her judgement and to protect herself.

Also she would not be capable of giving consent in her upset and agitated state.

This is a clear-cut case of a rape cos any guy finding himself penetrating a drunk girl is taking a very high risk of committing a sexual criminal act.

Race and Gender of judeges do not cloud the judgement and sentence
