Can foreigners buy condo in Vietnam ?

I have been trying to hunt for a guide book on doing business in Vietnam. Don't seem to be able to find it.

Can brothers recommend some books ? And where to buy ?

of cos you can purchase condos in HCMC. But must be warn. The condominium must be able to be sold for foreign entity/resident. The law was amended on 2003 on Land Law in Vietnam.

U can try Villa Riveria in An Phu Ward from Keppel Land. 75% have been sold at the latest average price of over S$220,000 per unit. Villa Riveria enjoys frontage along the Saigon River and caters to the upper income market. Foreigners can totally own these units.

why U need a guide book? These developing country land law change as and when they deem fit. Unless you are interested to buy property there, engaged a local property agent and find yr baxa to translate for u. Average normal apartments cost u around S$70-150K. Location must also observe. Just like SG, different prices of condo like in Cairnhill(S$1.2m) compare with Bayshore($0.8m) or Dunmean View($0.6m). Nevertheless I'm not a property agent. Juz an ordinary bonkers who is interested in investment opportunities.

I just came back from HCMC 1 week ago. can recommend this hotel to bros, quite nice with bath tubs and gal friendly. 2 star hotel somemore.

I thought somebody told me in Vietnam foreigners can only lease cannot own.

$220K too expensive lah. I'm more interested in Hanoi, Danang. Saigon too polluted liao.

Bui thi Xuan street in D1 is a nice place. Has been my playground since i arrived in HCM some years back. Besides the computer stores, there's also a big rice store that serves nice and cheap food, famous beef steak 5 mins away etc. Lots of local hotels there and if want something better, try empress hotel (3 stars)

btw, have to tell taxi driver its BUI THIS XUAN street in D1, there';s another BUI THI XUAN street in District tan Binh.

If you are interested can try checking out the apartments at Trung Hoa Nhan Chinh - Thanh Xuan, Hanoi just at the end of Lang Ha Road. A two bed room, kitchen cum dining area, hall and bathroom is going at USD38,000.00. It seem this area is only six months old and still a lot of apartment coming up. On whether can foreigners own property in vietnam I am not sure. Maybe when they are in WTO things might change.

Quite cozy and quiet and should be quite a good buy. One of the girl working in Boss owns one unit there, so once in awhile will visit her in her apartment and she will cook nice vietnamese dishes and after that.......

Coming to HCM tomorrow and any recommendation of hotels. Thanks in advance.
