They never asked me.....initially I my same sentiments too.
But after a couple of months they dun even ask for anything except to buy an occasional top-up card, in fact even buy things for me from CN.
Which makes me guilty and I always try to do some things for them to even it off

yes errand, errands for my BS gal.... her vid camera got prob, so i go over help her fix, she technically inferior wat. some more go there, took 3 sticks of cigareetes from me, and now i "tok leng" liao.....

There are ways of getting a room there.
I think it should not be so tough nowadays as the main heat is elsewhere.
If you still fail then book in advance
