Thank you all for the replies. It is just fate that I met this HC girl. You may feel that 20K/mo is a lot. Yes, maybe. However, it does not mean that $ can buy me the true love. ok, I know love can be blind but I know what I am doing. Up to date, she has no idea of my monthly income. After 2+ years, I myself 'certify' her different than HC gilrs in my impression. I've been to her home, live with her family... I do feel comfortable... I have no intention to become PR or citizen. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy my stay here and I do plan to stay here for long, as an EP holder. In fact, I do not feel there exist any differences with or without PR. that's all for now.

To ease some brudˇ¦s curiosity, I am not running my own business. I have a decent degree from well known university abroad and work for a very well established local company and with special techniques (donˇ¦t flame me on this point, ok, I know what you guys may sayˇK) that SG needs very much.
Compared with my colleagues, my income is nothing.

OK Holly,
this is my reply. As a EP holder and P1 somemore, you can apply for PR. There is a difference between a EP holder and a PR. As a EP holder, you asre beholden to your company. That means, the company can cancel your employment and terminate your EP. When that is terminated, you have abt 1 month to stay in S'pore and thereafter, you must leave S'pore. With PR, you are independent of your employers. in addition, your employers are obliged to pay you CPF. EP holders do not pay CPF. That means as a PR, you are actually 13% more pay, but you do not see it. For your gf, you can marry her provided she gets approval from MOM. Otherwise, she will be blacklisted and even be barred from entering Spore. With your income level and doc proof to ICA, they will approve the marriage. If you are a PR,. then she can also apply for PR. Hope that helps.
