It is reported that a conservative estimate of 600 Sillypore men flock to Batam on every weekend, lets round it up to 1,000 for the entire week and each spends an average of S$200 per 2D1N trip

The TRUTH = S$200 x 1000 (pax) x 52 (weeks) = SGD10,400,000.00 annually


Amnesty International - receives large sums of donations from generous individual/corporate donors annually

Batam ceweks - receive Rp ? from ??? - Rupiahs fall from sky ya?

Nice Statistics, to add: I bet 3/4 of this money are feeding alots of staving Indos AND SENDING THE CHILDREN TO SCHOOL. Imagine what they would have become without this fund.....maybe another terrorist TERRORIST.

The inflow of funds (SGD to Batam) also, perhaps not boost but, at least help to maintain the steady growth of many sectors and industries:

- hospitality: hotels, resorts & golf courses
- food and beverages: resurants, food stalls & eatery
- health care: massage lah ... what else
- entertainment: pubs, KTV and disco
- transportation: ojeks, cabs and mini-vans

in Sg - eggs don't come in, a lot of Sg ppl kena affected
in BT - cheongsters don't come in, a lot of BT ppl also kalah
