Bro, it's true in china the court will justify each case and proceed to distribute the couples' asset. I'm aware bcos I saw their divorce document b4. Car, TV, VCD player need to return to the one who buy the item. Of course the former can ask the judge to give to the other party. As for "separation fees," if there's no black and white, you need not worry. It's common for china ladies to ask for compensation if the relationship fall out.

I'm not dampen down on you. If the woman you are marrying ask for this and that. Dun bother to continue with the marriage, bcos potential damage will soon develop later. Dun even bother to apply PR for her too. Most likely it will be hit-and-run case.

Dear Bro sbfpolis,
That actually depends on the situation.
I know this PRC guy quite well so as his ex-gf, when they broke off, he did pay his gf for the separation fees, over here it is called 'qing chun shun shi fei' 青春损失费 or 青春补偿费.
Another PRC guy I know, when he broke off with his gf, he did not pay anything for it.
Comparing the two guys, the later one is more like a playboy to me. Also, I don't think it is abt whether the girl is demanding for it, it is all abt whether is it worth to help. As for your case, since she is the one asking, you have to judge it yourself.

Anywhere after what happened to him, I think next time he will cheong with his eyes opened wide.

For the rest of us, its a lesson learnt at his expenses. Actually I do pity him although he makes a lot of $ and can afford it, but at the end of the day although he had bonked her on several occassions, each bonks works out to nearly RM10,000 p/bonk and that if he had bonked her a total of 50 times!!!

In case the marriage does not work up, the other party is only entitled to certain percentage of their assets as it is drawn out in their marriage contract!

But seriously, the ThreadStarter should consider his relationship seriously as even before the maariage, the gal already highlighted compensation.

I think she has mixed up with alimony. Usually the husband will have to pay monthly maintenance (decided by court) is there is a child in the marriage.
Without any child, the court will look at what she has done for you during the marriage such as she help you to build a business or wealth. But if you can prove that your wealth is your own effort, she is entitle to nothing.
