Eh I think u misunderstood or nv read correctly...I am not against or frowning at learning and understand other cultures and traditions. I am ok in mingling as well as living and being frds with everyone.

I am just against interracial marriage especially for girls only as it will dissolved our traditions and cultures. Mothers are the biggest guidance to their children.

Firstly, the problem with people, typically the ignorant ones, believe that culture and traditions are linked with colour of skin.
I strongly believe that culture originates from local practices/habits differentiated by geography. You cant expect me to believe that Johor Malays practice same traditions as northern Malays in Penang or Kedah for example.

secondly, old timers for some reason have an inability to let things go. So afraid of losing identity? Look around you, just head to some exclusive shopping areas in Orchard. Do you see aunties and uncles in cheong sam or sam foo. Sarees and Jippas? Baju melayu and kebayas everywhere? No. Practically everyone is in modern garbs.

Culture issue only comes about when someone in the family is suddenly interested in an "outsider".

I am a Chinese Indonesian, and I support interracial marriage. Most of my friends are only allowed to marry Chinese Indonesian.

But I am different, I am encourage to marry Chinese Indonesian, but I don't have to marry one. For me I actually prefer to marry someone non-Chinese Indonesian. Why?
