Your second point is really very true. A girl comes into a man's heart and then leaves him just so easily when the relationship gets tested because he legally needs to serve his country, says little about her maturity and her commitment to the relationship. If marriage vows are anything to go by, the girlfriends who stray and leave during NS are probably not keepers.
