The first thought that came to my mind was, "why did he put himself into this situation (to marry a china woman)?". That was the same question when I was interviewed by a TV crew on the subject, "what would u do if u were retrenched and NOT giving adequate time of notice?". My answer was the same.

We always point fingers at others for any unexpected windfalls without take a deep look at ourselves. In this case, it may be fate (oh really?). If we allow our fate to control our destination (in this case, marrying a china woman), he shouldnt be crying out loud now. it's his fate, if he chooses to believe it.

Well, doesnt he know that china women have bad names when it comes to marrying a local man? (disclaimer: no offense intended, purely personal comment). That's the risk he took and he has to face the consequences. However, I dont think the china woman was sincere to marry him. Why? I think (personally hor...) all she wanted is the PR status. Btw, has she gotten the PR status yet?

Yeah bro, they are fillial too. Confirm your parents will be in good hand. And they are not greedy at all.

All u need is 10k and the agent will bring u go door to door to search for someone u like... plus another few k for wedding dinner.... seems like a good deal. I have totally given up on local gals ~~ and PRC (except Na Na `` heehee)

Hi brudders,

As I'm not in SG I have no idea what case you guys are discussing about. But seems like a local guy marrying a PRC gal who has refused to fulfil her duties as his wife after getting her PR status.

I'm not about to point fingers as to whose fault it is, but somehow alot of these problems seem to arise when either party lets himself/herself into it. For a some of the guys back home that I have contact with, I feel that they seem to get married due to 'saving-face'. They've come of a certain age and everyone around them seems to be getting hitched, they're not and people are whispering if they're gay/unwanted/not good looking/no money etc.

Personally, I feel that marriage is an instituition that should be reserved for 2 people who are in love with each other. Note, in love with each other, not one person loves the other... I have seen my fair share of marriages that have been rushed into because of either party putting the pressure on in one way or another. One common method is one party will have something to gain from getting into this marriage.

Anyway, I'll probably keep going, but what I'm trying to say is that, if you're going into a contract with someone, you want to be 100% sure of the other person. Of course you can't predict what's going to happen in the future but if both of you are in love, then you'll be willing to work things out and not turn tail and chabut...

If you are equipped with abundance of patience & good temper, by all means go ahead. I hate those men who keep asking his agent whether his prospective wife is a virgin, can cook or not, must take good care of old parents and at the same time must have a nice and round bottom. I may be generalising, but this is my POV and it's bloody true because I follow my friend there to pick a wife.

Not say you can't find these qualities in vietnam lah, but you can't be so choosy mah. Must also see what qualities the guy has, although the ger's side is always a obliging party.

guys, everything also got good got bad one ... one of my tenant is a viet girl very pretty and grad from NUS but she create so many trouble with the other tenant that they all wanted to move out ... i almost end up losing money until i chase her out. but my other viet tenant (a student) perfect.

1) I dun mind if my wife is not a virgin !!! Wat's past is past and now so rare to find virgin anyway. And since i not virgin, cant expect my wife to be one too.

2) At least need to cook a bit. Cos since young i have never tasted home-cooked food. (Me everyday eat outside de) Too much to ask meh ???

3) take care of parents is also a must for me. Cos i am the onli child staying with my mother !! If she dunno how to take care of her then how ???

No matter where the "wife" is from .. I think to substain the relationship, there must be "love".

I think many "old" men in Sin were too wishful thinking that their "wives" who are 15-30 yrs old younger them them would "trully" love them just because they can provide for them and are able to get PR. Many a time what they provide were very simple, too simple after their "wives" really see Sin after staying here for a few years. Many men also think that these "wives" were their sex machines, want sex to satisfy themselves only without paying attention to their women's needs.

I am currently not in Singapore and did not read the whole story in the papers, but I have a feeling, from many past cases, is this about another middle-age man with a young wife ?

I have many friends who have PRC wives living happily, because they "know" them and have love for each other. They go thru normal courtship and stuffs like any couples, not a middle-age man and a young PRC/Vietnam gal.

Just my 1.5 cents worth ...
